I get it. It’s part of why I don’t buy season tickets - I know going in that there will be at least 2 games where it’s suffocatingly hot and absolutely no fun to attend. I just don’t have a ton of sympathy for people that pay for their season tickets knowing there are always hot as fuck games in September that will be miserable to attend and then they get mad when it’s hot as fuck and the game starts at noon. Of course it’s miserably hot. Of course I wouldn’t take a kid to the game. The complaints about it just seem excessive at this point. But idk. Maybe I’m just an insensitive asshole.

WHY IS THIS OUTDOOR EVENT IN THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES IN THE SUMMER SO HOT? I VOLUNTARILY PAID TO ATTEND THIS EVENT AND I DEMAND TO KNOW WHY IT IS SO HOT!
9/9/2019 6:17:57 PM
Yeah. You’re are indeed being assholes.
9/9/2019 6:30:49 PM
I do though lol at the whiners who blame noon games on people leaving early. That shit happens no matter the time, unless it’s a great opponent.
9/9/2019 6:34:14 PM
^^guess I’m just being an asshole about it and the fact that Justin agrees with me probably confirms that I just don’t really get it. Who are we mad at? The athletic department for scheduling weaker opponent in the opening weeks? The TV networks? Do we just blindly cuss John Swofford because he’s clearly out to get us? I completely understand why people hate the noon kicks. I guess I just don’t really get why anybody’s surprised about noon kicks.
9/9/2019 6:39:25 PM
I’m not mad. Just annoyed lol. We’ve basically just been unlucky. Nothing nefarious is going on.

3:30pm kickoff games aren't really much different weather-wise. It's just hot as fuck during tailgating and kickoff and then starts to cool down, whereas noon games are nice for tailgating and get hot during the game.

9/9/2019 9:47:50 PM
Got eeem
9/9/2019 10:20:49 PM
^^^ my only preference for 3:30 over 12:00 is getting to sleep in. I think the point about tailgating temps is true but only applies to the first hour or so, by 10 it's hot.
9/10/2019 8:10:18 AM
Yeah, weather for 3:30 games isn't much different. I prefer the 3:30 time slot over noon because my kids play soccer and I'm on the soccer fields until 11:30 in Youngsville. That's a 'me' problem though. If it wasn't for that, I'd be out there as close to 8 as possible to tailgate.
9/10/2019 8:46:50 AM
It could be sunny and 70 degrees with 0% humidity for a noon game and people would still be annoyed by it and the stands would still be half empty at the start of the 3rd quarter. It's not the heat that people hate about noon games, it's the overall negative effect on tailgating and Saturday. People don't want to get up early, they don't want to start drinking at 8am every home game, and they don't want to always have to cook/eat breakfast at the tailgate. The crowd in the 3rd quarter isn't because it's 90 degrees, it's because the concessions are weak and the beer lines/prices aren't worth it when you can get a pass to go back and eat/drink whatever your already brought. The only people really leaving games early because of the sun/heat are people with small children and older folks, and that isn't going to change whether the game is at 11, 12, or 3:30. If you have a night game you'll still have those same people leaving early.

3:30 games take all of your day. at least 6/7pm games you get your morning.

Make one instead of complaining. It's not that hard.
9/14/2019 8:30:49 AM
We seem to have a weak pass rush this year which is different than what we have come to expect the last few years. I guess too many young guys???
9/14/2019 11:24:35 PM
Not sure how our 3-3-5 d tracks to the 4 man line depth chart they release, but anyway both starting DE were hurt today

YouTube tv has been good for me. You can just do a 7 day free trial and cancel if you only need it for the weekend
9/17/2019 9:47:25 AM

Didn't realize Stephen Griffin was ALSO out Saturday. Obviously there are some structural issues with the D, but hopefully if we get all 4 (or 3 depending how you classify Bole) starters back, then execution will improve.

On how long it takes for Matthew McKay to develop trust with receivers

wat?

The Inside Pack Sports podcast had a point that most QBs struggle in their first P-5 away game... Thought I'd compile the full list below:Philip Rivers - 31/52 for 401 yards, 5 TDs & 1 INT. NCSU 41 Indiana 38Russell Wilson - 10/21 for 92 yards, 0 TDs & 1 INT. NCSU 9 Clemson 27Mike Glennon - 24/41 for 315 yards, 3 TDs & 1 INT. NCSU 27 Wake Forest 34Jacoby Brissett - 4/18 for 35 yards, 0 TDs & 0 INT. NCSU 0 Clemson 41Ryan Finley - 20/40 for 231 yards, 0 TDs & 2 INTs. NCSU 17 Clemson 24Matt McKay - 23/48 for 207 yards, 1 TD & 0 INT. NCSU 27 West Virginia 44At this point, I'm more concerned about getting the defense healthy than Matt McKay's development. I was cautious how the transition away from Drink/Finley. Hard to really grade considering we've only played one game against a P5 opponent. SP+ still has us at 7-5 on the year, which is what I expected going into the season.
9/23/2019 10:15:54 AM
QB play has left plenty to be desired. But yeah...I’m more concerned with defense at this point.
9/23/2019 10:25:19 AM
Not sure 2010s clemson is a good comparison to this year's WVU team
9/23/2019 10:30:39 AM
That Philip game was so good.

Welp, RIP running game. Autenreith out for the year. Maybe Angeline has learned how to become a non-terrible blocker.
9/23/2019 6:36:52 PM
I sure hope one Tight End isn't the key to our entire rushing attack
9/23/2019 8:20:06 PM
In the rivers gator bowl year, Sean bertons injury had a huge effect on our run game
9/23/2019 8:41:14 PM
Well, we averaged over 50 more rushing yards per game in the games he played last year versus the games he was out with injury. So he's definitely a key part of our running game.
9/23/2019 9:07:58 PM
9/24/2019 8:07:00 AM
Cole Cook graduating definitely hurt our running game last year. We have other blocking TEs, just hurts to lose a SR leader and captain.

DD has himself some troubles brewing. Injuries, lack of depth/experience. But as stated earlier, it's clear that Drink and Ledford were HUGE parts of this staff. There is definite drop off.Making a bowl will be the goal and thats sad with DD in his 7th year.the 335 still blows sausage
9/24/2019 10:29:27 AM
^idk about all that. This was a rebuild year all along. We were hopeful it would be an easier rebuild due to a weaker schedule. We have been looking at 2020 and 2021 as years where we’ll have more experience, especially for some of our younger talent. I don’t think there’s any reason to say DD is in trouble...yet. This is what we are as a program. Very few programs are in a position to never have a rebuild season. I’m not saying we shouldnt strive to be better than we are. But I think there’s maybe 10 programs that never have to worry about rebuilding. We aren’t one of those programs. Such is life as a non power football program. Imo, the truer test for DD will be how those 2020 and 2021 teams pan out. That’s not to say this season should be a total wash, I just think we need to be realistic about what this season’s expectations are/were
9/24/2019 10:57:44 AM
Gopack.com clearly states that Authenrieth is a key part of our running game - no clue why anyone would argue otherwise.... but our running attack has been anemic the last two years so who knows how much that really matters. And preach dms. SP+ is currently giving us a 55% chance of finishing between 7-8 wins. Solid year for new QB/OC/OL coach/replacing several offensive skill positions. There was obviously going to be a drop-off after Finley & the rest of our offense/Drink/Ledford left.I've been skeptical of the OC's so far this year but tbf it's their first time as OCs with a new QB. DD hired Drink and Ledford, I have no reason to think he (or his staff) won't sort the rest of his staff out.
