maybe drugs vs some guys just drinking underage? idk

yeah you're right. the investigation isn't over. seems like for 2 guys to get dismissed and 3 to get suspended it had to be more than underage drinking and smoking weed. although, i'm sure the leash is shorter with true freshmen than it is with upper classmen.
8/22/2017 5:12:21 PM
It also happened at one of their apartments as well
8/22/2017 7:43:36 PM
looking at giglio's YP's makes me realize we're graduating EVERYONE this year. What's our depth look like for next season?
8/23/2017 9:32:15 AM
Well, if we're graduating 85 players, not too good.
8/23/2017 9:44:20 AM
Wrote this after the UNC win last year:
8/23/2017 9:59:34 AM
^^^yeah that's why this year is so important for building momentum both on the field and as it translates to recruiting. obviously 2018's recruits probably won't see the field much in 2018 - hopefully most would be able to redshirt. LB and DL will take hits for sure....losing Jerod Fernandez, Arius Moore, Street, Chubb, Hill, Justin Jones to graduation. and Roseboro seems like a candidate to possibly go pro if he and the DL have a really strong year. i think there's high hopes for Shug Frazier, E Bryant, and true freshman Grant Gibson up front...but there'll be a big drop off at DL. LB will still have some good players...Nicholson, Pratt, i think there's high hopes for Louis Acceus and Brock Miller. the secondary might not take as much of a hit...we lose Boone, Mike Stevens, and Jonathan Alston but i think we've got some youth there as well (McLoud, Banks, Meadows, Stallings)...but much of that youth lacks experience. offensively, losing Samuels is gonna hurt (duh) and i think senior Dakwa Nichols is gonna be solid at RB this year too. but we should be fine at RB still with Gallaspy and Hines and some younger guys like Erin Collins if he's not kicked off the team and Nakia Robinson also. Finley will still be here at QB. we should still be solid at WR next year. on the OL, Tony Adams will be a big loss but we've got plenty of guys that should still be around in 2018 (Will Richardson, Prescod, McGirt) to make that a solid unit. the most obvious question marks are definitely gonna be the DL.[Edited on August 23, 2017 at 10:19 AM. I am still sticking with my thinking that the SC game determines 7-5 or 6-6
8/23/2017 10:53:26 AM
6-6
8/23/2017 11:47:19 AM
8-4, 5-3

Purchased my tix to the first game yesterday. Couldn't be more excited.

Preseason hype has peaked. Lose to South Carolina to crush the hype. 0-1. Win the next 2 as we iron out some kinks. 2-1. Lose @FSU, by at least a 2 TD margin. 2-2. Bounce back with a solid win over Cuse. 3-2. Hype building with upset win over UL. 4-2. Hype peaks with a big road win over Pitt. 5-2. Crushing loss @ND. 5-3. Lose to Clemson by double-digits. 5-4. Lose @BC to bottom out hype/buzz at 5-5. Win @Wake as team rallies behind fire Doeren buzz. 6-5. Win over UNC to close the season on a high note. 7-5. Would put us at 7-5, 5-3 in the ACC, appearing in our 3rd straight bowl game under Doeren. Lose a lot of seniors but build a strong recruiting class as Doeren's seat remains comfortably cool. Staying healthy at some key positions and this is assuming Stevens is back between the FSU and Cuse games.
8/23/2017 2:33:25 PM
^I think we win SC, lose UL, and we had better not lose to fucking BC again [Edited on August 23, 2017 at 2:51 PM. Reason : 8-4 5-3]

vegas has moved us from 4.5 pt favs to 6 pt favs, FWIW

^^^is stevens "officially" injured or is that still unconfirmed?we will beat SCar by 10+ points imo let's get hype
8/23/2017 3:17:20 PM
There was a Q&A with DD today but apparently nobody asked. Almost like their focus was elsewhere. Lol. Sad lol anyway.
8/23/2017 3:49:24 PM
I don't think the Stevens injury has been confirmed but I think most believe nothing official will come out until the official injury report for the game. I'm sure So. Carolina is going to prepare like he's playing but I'm sure we aren't going to give them any information early to not give them an edge. Believe the rumor is legit, which is a huge blow for the defense as he's clearly our best and most experienced CB.
8/23/2017 4:34:50 PM
anyone have any idea why are we moving to screen printed numbers this year vs. stitched on?
8/24/2017 11:15:29 PM
per Giglio:
8/27/2017 5:46:14 PM
8/27/2017 6:28:41 PM
Losing Stevens is a huge blow, probably one of the few positions we really don't have a proven back-up. Look for everyone to use the quick short passing approach to negate our front 7 and test our DBs. I felt confident we could handle that with Stevens on the field, a little concerned Bentley is going to have plenty of success now.
8/28/2017 8:58:15 AM
Unless Stevens dramatically improved since last year this is not a huge blow. The secondary is the glaring weakness for this team (If the kicking situation has been fixed with Wise) so does it really change things?
8/28/2017 10:30:25 AM
Stevens was the only CB on the roster to lock up a starting spot. So if he wasn't any good, we're really in trouble. The staff apparently felt REALLY good about Stevens locking up one starting CB spot and Boone sliding into the Nickel slot. We're looking at starting McCloud(filled in last year for 1 start) and Alston...the WR converted CB. Going to need the DL to live up to their hype until Stevens gets back.
8/28/2017 10:43:48 AM
DD says original timeline for Stevens was 4 weeks. i guess 4 weeks from last week. but also says he's "doing well and maybe ahead of time". so that might just be coachspeak, not wanting to reveal too much...or maybe it's true.
8/28/2017 12:07:44 PM
Does Lou Holtz still coach South Carolina? Or us, for that matter? What does a football?
8/29/2017 12:34:09 AM
Jesus H Christ.

how funny would it be if irma cancels our cupcake causing us to miss a bowl
9/4/2017 4:48:23 PM
There are so many bowl games nowadays, they might take a 5-6 NC State team[Edited on September 4, 2017 at 4:53 PM. Reason : square off against another preseason CFP school]
9/4/2017 4:52:12 PM
Phillips out for season with achillesMeadows away indefinitely for "a personal matter"HOPEFULLY Stevens back for Furman.Secondary struggling right now
9/4/2017 9:41:58 PM
we're 22 to 24 point favorites vs Marshall
9/5/2017 7:33:26 AM
Other than the missed assignment on the wheel route, I thought our secondary actually wasn't awful. I was more disappointed in our DL/LB not being able to tackle. That being said, we're really going to need Stevens back 100% heading into FSU and we really can't afford to lose too many more DBs unless we want to start burning redshirts.
9/5/2017 8:48:51 AM
If we face an extremely accurate quarterback we are screwed. There were a lot of bad throws by USC's QB.
9/5/2017 8:58:03 AM
Doeren sounded confident that he'd be back by furman (almost sounded like he was iffy for Marshall but didn't wanna rush it). Be good to have him back and get a game under his belt before fsu
9/5/2017 9:02:10 AM
^^Look at our schedule, we literally just faced the 2nd best QB we have to face this season. Also might have faced one of the better WR cores too. Obviously Lamar Jackson of the Louisville Lamar Jacksons is #1, but I'd say Bentley is a safe #2. The one saving grace for our secondary is that the ACC is really down at QB this year, especially now that Francois is hurt. Could just be early season jitters, but a lot of the QBs on our schedule looked rough in the first week of the season.
9/5/2017 10:13:14 AM
lolololololSame ol' State, same ol' problems with Doeren.A Defense that can't stop the pass and special teams that suck.
9/5/2017 1:56:40 PM
To be fair the secondary really only cost us 1 TD(missed assignment on wheel-route). Our DL/LBs being unable to bring down a wide-open QB on a simple sack cost us more.Still put more of the fault on our DL than our CBs last game. And also on poor play-calling/scheming with blitzing. Still can't believe we sent the house inside the 10 like it wouldn't lead to a wide-open TD.
9/5/2017 2:15:21 PM
http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/acc/nc-state/state-now/article171513427.htmlbasically...jaysam tweaked his hamstring in saturday's game. didn't practice today. doesn't seem like a big deal, but probably means he'll be somewhat limited until the FSU game. no need to risk further injury.
9/6/2017 1:48:49 PM
Apparently Pratt the LB is who blew the coverage on the Dowdle TD, not Alston....
9/7/2017 10:11:51 AM
Yeah for a first start, Alston didn't play that bad. He had a hard draw with Samuel and still managed to get a turnover. I don't blame him for the long TD, that was a busted play and a great catch by Samuel, I blame the DL or LB that had Bentley for a big loss and can't finish the sack.
9/7/2017 10:41:37 AM
^That was Freddie Philips Jr. He tore his Achilles tendon on that play.http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/acc/nc-state/state-now/article171208102.html

Everyone still confident with their predictions?
9/9/2017 6:57:23 PM
no way. our dline sucks and everything was predicated on a dominant dline. fuck
9/9/2017 11:45:20 PM
Kelvin Harmon is so good. And Ryan Finley is looking good to start the season.
9/10/2017 7:26:18 AM
9/11/2017 9:06:01 AM
I honestly think we pull it together against FSU.
9/11/2017 9:16:13 AM
if we're re-hashing our predictions...i said i was thinking 8-4 (5-3) was pretty realistic. still think it could happen. Cuse, @BC, @Pitt, UNC, @Wake all still look winnable. my 8-4 was counting SCar as a win and @ND as a loss. @ND still doesn't look easy and i'd guess we'd be underdogs in that game.[Edited on September 11, 2017 at 10:10 AM. Reason : so am i still confident in my pointless prediction? sure, why not.]
