I guess we can drop the charade of pretending Trump is going to be a different Republican with regards to LGBTQ rights now. His AG and VP are two of the most virulently anti-LGBTQ there are out there.Sessions is listed as anywhere between 3rd to 5th most conservative Senator. Looking like we are gonna get a run of the mill far right administration from the looks of it.[Edited on November 18, 2016 at 11:18 AM. Reason : Oh, fuck me, just saw the Flynn news. ]

^I've read some articles about the situation. I still don't get why people who went to a for profit university/education program are suing. Don't they know that no one gives these programs any merit? I guess anyone who goes to a for profit school now has the right to sue when they don't make a lot of money after they finish?

https://twitter.com/jeneps/status/799441149920415744?ref_src=twsrc%5EtfwSo this is a bit concerning... Trump, lied about putting his company in a blind trust, and that has offered no solution to the conflict of interest with his business and being president, and who has said his kids would run the company without any intervention from him, had a top Trump Corporation leader (his daughter) sit in on a meeting with the Japan PM.
11/18/2016 10:45:56 PM
He's a grifter. He didn't disclose his taxes because he doesn't want anyone to know what his actual net worth is. If he isn't actually a billionaire, he will be by the time he leaves office. And he apparently has no idea what a blind trust is.

The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 19, 2016

It's going to be weird having a president who you can legitimately troll on twitter.

I think Trump supporters thought Biff was actually the hero of the Back to the Future trilogy.

He sent out a third tweet about Hamilton, and deleted it a few minutes later.

I wonder who deleted it

Has anyone seen anyone defending these tweets? Or do people realize they've been the victim of a heist?

According to the_donald: he's pointing out the left's hypocrisy, theaters aren't the place for politics, it's a deliberate distraction from the Trump U settlement, liberals are the real intolerant ones, etc.

I love how the dumbass leftists recite their "victimhood hierarchy" as if Trump has indicated he would do anything to harm them.-Muslims-Gays-Trans-Blacks-WomenI guess if you're indoctrinated you can't differentiate between those perpetual "victims" and non-citizens, which is the only class of people his policies are against. But you know... herp a derp my narrative! Love trumps hate! My feelings!

I can understand a resistance against globalization, but really the best way to neuter it is to make changes in wall street. Otherwise, I don't see how people expect globalization to slow down.

If there was one thing everyone involved with his campaign should have drilled into Trump it was to stop using social media the day he won the election. I mean he should have stopped well before but especially now. He has proven he can't control himself with the snap responses to things and it is going to cause him tons of issues down the road.
11/21/2016 10:20:24 AM
^ he has nothing to lose at this point by tweeting. Before the election, he could have lost the election and possibly faded into obscurity. Now, he's there, his supporters don't care he's oblivious and incompetent, there's not enough democrats elected to stop him.
11/21/2016 10:38:11 AM
I'm almost completely sold on this kind of shit just being intentional distractions from the more important issues like the settlement and his cabinetI still do think he's a thin skinned reactionary who isn't smart enough to know when to shut up, but he's happy to use that to his advantage in cases like this

http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/11/21/us/alt-right-salutes-donald-trump.htmlThe alt-right that Bannon said this about; and I quote:
11/21/2016 11:55:40 AM
At this point, we can start to accept the notion that looking or acting presidential is not a job requirement. The man is very flawed and has his issues, but I do think it will be refreshing to actually hear and read honest, unfiltered, and impulsive things than to deal with the whole political 'say something and nothing at the same time' spiel. I would just prefer that those honest and impulsive things are directed internally at our nation. I worry his provacative talk won't bode well with other countries. It won't work all that well here either, but the right countries have much more geopolitical clout than half a nation of malcontents who ended up on the losing side of the election.
11/21/2016 12:34:05 PM
^ that's a very optimistic spin. The dude is taking more shots at Hamilton than Aaron Burr, filling his cabine with alt-right (i.e Christian Nationalists), and bringing his family members to meetings with foreign nationals to promote Trump hotels and other business ventures. And of course, there is the naked xenophobia and civil liberty abuses being floated around like that's normal. This is third-world, banana republic shit and Trump has all of the hallmark tendencies of a leader who simply plans to loot the treasury and secure his long term financial success more than make any meaningful strides to "make America great again."Nawww, man. This isn't normal. Nothing good will come from this presidency. Buckle up, man, we're in four some steady chop.
11/21/2016 12:54:27 PM
^ I'm just talking specifically about what he says, not so much about what he does. I am very concerned from that end of the spectrum about what he's doing and the people he's putting around him and into positions of power. He really reminds me of Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte. Controversial figure, does things intentionally to rattle others. Cusses out foreign nationals. Heavy-handed on snuffing out drugs in his country, to the point that people are concerned about civil rights. But yeah, it'll be a wild 4 years. I just hope that his administration does more talking than doing.[Edited on November 21, 2016 at 1:04 PM. Reason : .]

honesty from a president would be refreshing if the president wasnt a 70 yr old baby
11/21/2016 1:03:50 PM
That Philippines dude sends death squads to take out suspected drug dealers. So, yeah.... "heavy handed" might be putting it lightly. And, the Philippines is also a third world country. So, I think we're in agreement that we're in for a shit few years.

I like to compare Trump and past presidents to certain sports figures. Take Russell Wilson. Dude is a robot. Says all the right things. Reporters hate to cover him because they know exactly what's coming. Russell Wilson = Typical Politician. Then take someone like Charles Barkley. He'd tell you if he played turrible, or if his team played turrible, or if his coach sucked, or that he was going to go to Las Vegas and party with Michael Jordan and blow 6 figures playing poker. He'll make fun of himself and his golf game and then give his opinion on something that he is not an expert at, even if no one asked him for it. Of course the media eats it all up because they have something interesting and fun to report on, even if they're trying to skewer their golden goose in the court of public opinion.Yeah, maybe a lot of the things he says will be stupid. Or that he'll state opinions on things that we don't think should matter to the president. Why should our president talk about Hamilton? My president shouldn't be on ESPN showcasing his March Madness bracket! He needs to be doing his job! If you thought Obama wasn't doing his job because he did too many media tours and went golfing in Martha's Vineyard too much, (Mah gawd, the president should work 24/7/365 and never take a vacation for the next 4 years, we have too many problems!!!) prepare for a rude awakening. I'm thinking we need to accept this new normal that we don't expect a certain amount of dignity and decorum into this position, since our voting patterns make it painfully obvious that what we say is important and what we do are not the same things.

You may not want to accept it, but look at who we just put in office. And now there will be political strategists from all over that will try to break down Trump's win into some sort of process or method to win elsewhere and in the future. He's just the first in a new wave of hacks that will want to insert themselves into politics, even if they have no business being in it in the first place. And since anyone can vote, regardless of their education or whether they have a basic grasp of the role of government, I don't see things changing. I think we can blame our generation (and young Gen X) for changing perceptions of the ideal president.[Edited on November 21, 2016 at 1:33 PM. Reason : moar!]
11/21/2016 1:29:59 PM
what do you mean by "accept"? i acknowledge that it's happening, but it isn't acceptable.
11/21/2016 1:32:06 PM
Demagoguery has always been a viable election strategy. This isn't new. It may be new to Americans, but much of the world is aware of the dangerous path of creeping fascism. Trump may have blazed a trail for hateful nationalists, but that's not something that should be normalized in American politics.
