Thought about just doing $378 which is what I have left to spend of the $3k but said what the hell. oh well, not the end of the world with two months left to go.

Looks like the payment through amazon completed so spendng on the Sapphire has been met. Think I'll let my score recover a little now.

Chase Ink bonus just posted so up to 82k points now. Finished the Sapphire spending requirement a little too late for it to post on the last statement so guess I'll have to wait until the May statement closes. That'll put me at ~$1200 in cash back/statement credits or $1500 on travel. Not bad for only 4 months.
4/15/2013 10:59:57 AM
What site/forums do you guys use to track these offers?

^^^Nice. Still working on my amex gold business 5K churn, but it's been 65 days so I'll probably apply for another citi AA card today.
4/15/2013 1:29:35 PM
I surely wish that PenFed would let me roll over the cash back bonus from purchasing gas via Visa credit card into my debit account, but they will only apply it towards the balance on the card every month. I'm starting to consider another card which offers more in the way of an actual reward.
4/17/2013 8:17:24 AM
^what's the difference? Cash is cash.
4/17/2013 8:48:09 AM
Yeah, srsly.
4/17/2013 10:08:23 AM
I, too, don't get it.
4/17/2013 10:26:23 AM
He's right guys. I want my rewards delivered in the form of a kiddie pool full of pennies in which I will bathe.
4/17/2013 12:11:55 PM
4/17/2013 12:20:31 PM
So, you'd rather the $15 go into your debit account only to deduct it come next time you pay your credit card? Also, 1.5% is a pretty crappy return.
4/17/2013 12:29:40 PM
I like free hotel rooms.
4/17/2013 1:36:27 PM
I have the Penfed 5% cash back on gas card, 0.25% for everything else and it gets credited back to the statement bill. Best things about that is I dont have to deal with trying to redeem points plus its a high % cash back which is very good for a normal long-term rewards card (not including the initial sign-up or spending offers on churned cards). Obviously my wife and I only use it for gas purchases which makes it much more worth it. If you've been with them any length of time I'd see what you could do about transferring your limit to that card and using a different rewards/points/cash back card for all your other purchases. They are very easy to work with.

I just got the PenFed Amex Premium Travel Rewards. I did not even apply for it, I got a car loan from PenFed and they put the application there already filled out next to the car loan app and I just had to click submit. Supposedly I get 20k points after spending $2500 on the card.
4/17/2013 8:47:14 PM
Is anyone taking advantage of the ability to assign a PIN to gift cards for manufactured spend?
4/25/2013 8:00:28 AM
Nah, I read about it a little but I've gotten 12 cards in the last 6 months, so I'm holding off applying for any new ones. Too many hard inquiries. Plus, any tough bonuses are easy to achieve via amazon payments.
4/25/2013 10:37:59 AM
^Meeting minimum spend requirements is only one use for gift cards. I was asking about using them to get points/miles for free or even a small profit.
4/25/2013 11:35:55 AM
Fair enough. I can still get prepaid credit cards with my CC, so that's another reason I haven't really been too concerned with it.I also get miles with my debit card, so I'll use that for money order purchases here and there.
4/25/2013 1:06:41 PM
I've done the AMEX Premier Rewards (looks like the 50k points aren't available anymore huh?), and the Chase Sapphire, so planning my next move. I'd like to concentrate on $ over travel miles at this point, so what should be next? Chase Ink? I can do $5k in 3 months no problem. Any other cash [gift cards/statement credit/etc] back cards I should be considering?
4/25/2013 3:08:03 PM

Okay so I signed up for a Chase card. My application has to be reviewed? Should I call them now, or wait until I get there official notice? Also when they ask me why i want the card, what is the reason most of you say?
4/30/2013 6:43:33 PM
couldn't tell you.....never been deferred/denied
4/30/2013 6:48:57 PM
Apparently it's pretty common if it's your first business card. I got the further review message when I applied for the Chase Ink Plus and called the recon line (800-453-9719) pretty much right after. They just ask about your business and what your expected expenses/profit will be which was all BS in my case.
4/30/2013 7:49:00 PM
Sorry if this has already been covered, but what's the best way to get my points out of Amex?I saw they have a 35% bonus offer if I transfer to British Airways (I would end up with ~70k points)...but dunno if that would be worth looking into. Looks like they have high fees when you travel on your points...Also I returned a $200 gift I purchased with it, so now I have a -$215 balance...AND the points. It'd be funny if I could get them to cut me a check. That would mean I spent less than $800 to get the points
5/3/2013 3:47:49 PM
I've had them cut me a check before when the auto pay went through for an amount larger than my balance.I think last time I had amex pts I just transferred them directly to delta since I was booking a flight that day.I haven't read this article yet but it's fairly recent. What to do with 75,000 to 100,000 American Express Membership Rewards Pointshttp://millionmilesecrets.com/2013/01/25/membership-rewards-points-value/

^How are you funneling through prepaid? I've been to probably 20 different places here, and they are ALL hardcore about "cash only" for prepaid reloads.

Nice, I'll probably just do that then. I have half a million airline miles currently, so it seems dumb to just sit here and wait for them to be devalued.
5/6/2013 9:40:59 AM
FYI I sent him a FB message a while back with no response. Will try using his site: http://www.buyingmiles.net/Sounds like they send the money, then I transfer the points. I like the sound of that...

Yeah, I'd feel more comfortable with that as well, just sucks with the paypal fee.
