The Family Guy jokes about Breaking Bad and The Wire this week were pretty funny.

I rewatched Season 5 this past week, good stuff. The dinner with Skylar, Walt, and Jesse was my favorite part of the season.

Where are there available episodes of the first half of Season 5? Will they start showing re-runs when the 2nd half is close to starting?

Got Netflix just for this show and have been watching them with my wife. We're about halfway through season 4 at the moment.

I'll agree that it's probably the best tv show I've seen. Better than Game of Thrones. I feel like a moron for skipping it.

^^That picture is amazingly awesome!! How many Walters are there? I count three, maybe four. Can't tell if the guy with the goatee in the lower left is supposed to be Walt (either young Walt or the Walt from the beginning of Season 5 in Denny's.) Also the skeevy meth heads Splooge and his wife and the big black bouncer turned out crazy accurate

Just finished watching the whole series with my fiance. What a show. There's probably never been a more consistently well written and acted show from episode to episode/season to season than this.

we are college educated people right? at least i hope.

why is it that all of the other boards regarding one of the best shows in television history are showing some ingenuity by studying every clue that gilligan and the cast are giving about the ending and making educated predictions, yet no one on this board is?

heres my analysis for example:
Prediction #1.
Walt poisoned Skyler with the ricin in the second to last scene in episode #7, "Gliding Over All"

When I first viewed this episode, the very innocuous scene where Walt, Skyler, Hank and Marie are chatting at the picnic table while Walt Jr. is pushing Holly around the pool seemed oddly creepy to me. I thought for sure something awful was about to happen, not only because it was the last few minutes of the mid-season break, it was the feeling of that scene, but nothing awful did happen (that we know of yet). Hank goes to the bathroom and finds Leaves of Grass, connected Walt with Gale, but that wasn't it. The scene of Hank's discovery definitely overshadows any thought that one might have about the previous scene, and I think that is done on purpose, for that purpose.

There was something else that was going on I felt, and after watching it a second (or maybe third) time months later, I realized that it's possible that Walt's plan was to not retire, but to just lead Skyler to believe he's retired. Then when she suddenly becomes ill and dies, he can go back to work and plan to leave his children with Hank and Marie after he dies of cancer, and leave them his money. This makes perfect sense for Walt to plan this, because I don't buy that he's forgiven Skyler for her infidelity and more so her plan to keep his children away from "their environment." Remember that Walt's major character flaw is his pride, his need for control, and his need to be remembered by his family in a certain light, no matter how much of a lie he may know it is.

Not to mention, that the rim of Skyler's glass has what looks like ricin on it. And Walt looks directly at it and then Skyler. The director also was careful enough to put Walt Jr's head inside the refraction of the glass. Then there's a close up of the glass in the foreground of Walt, where you can clearly see stuff on the rim of the glass.

This gives huge layers of creepiness to this scene which originally just seemed like filler and it could definitely be the horrible thing that Vince Gilligan has mentioned will make the audience never forgive Walt again. (Although, I'm pretty sure that a lot of fans want Skyler to die already) I also want to point out that the cut away shots they used in the scene, the hose, the wind chime, the bug on the wall are almost exactly the same as the shots in the 2nd season opener, 737, where we are introduced to the pink bear plot device which was a symbol of Walt's actions leading to major consequences.

I'm fairly certain of this prediction, maybe only because I like that twist as a writer myself, but it does make sense to me. I'm probably more confident about this than I am about my following predictions except my last. And I'm really surprised I haven't found any fan blogs that have suggested this.

There is also a possibility that she won't die, and everyone will find out that Walt poisoned her, which makes Walt lose his family forever. We already know that he ends up alone on his 52nd birthday, and I'm pretty sure that Skyler is dead and the kids are at Hanks.

Prediction #2 - Jesse's fate.

Jesse will absolutely find out that Walt was responsible for Brock's sickness, and somehow that he could have saved Jane. For some reason, I don't see the writers leaving the story without tying these loose ends that will forever ruin the relationship between Walt and Jesse. I'm pretty sure that Walt will kill Jesse and it's going to be an extremely emotional scene. I'm also willing to bet that the DEA will connect Jesse, or that Walt will suspect Jesse of turning over on him. All of these elements will probably come to a head simultaneously.

In my opinion, Jesse needs to die, mainly because he's become pretty close to being the moral compass of the show and one of the more likable characters that the audience connects with. I would also lean toward the idea that Jesse remains alive but goes to prison. If the last scene you ever see of Jesse is in a prison cell I think that would be a good ending for him, but I really hope he dies, preferably by Todd ordered by Walt.

I doubt very much that Jesse will kill Walt, as bittersweet as that scenario may be. But again, I don't know. I could be completely wrong.

Prediction #3 - Hank will not turn Walt over to the DEA

There are only two problems I have ever had with this show, (however they are forgivable) The first is that we've had to buy that all of this chaos has happened in just one year and secondly that Hank has just figured it out. In the first season or second season he should have had him pegged. When he connected the missing lab equipment in Walt's chemistry classroom to this new blue meth, and saw the video surveillance of the "book smart crooks who lack street smarts" stealing the methyl-amine, and then how Walt conveniently showed up to block the view of their stake-out of the fake Heisenberg that Badger was setting up. It just seemed to me that if Hank is so good at policework that he's proved himself to be connected Gus, that he would have definitely suspected Walt. Now the argument could be made that denial is more powerful than logic, and maybe Hank will let us know that he did suspect Walt in the back of his mind in the next few episodes. But I don't think Hank will use the system to go after Walt. For one thing, this could be viewed as an embarrassment to Hank, and I don't think he would want Walt Jr to know his father is a drug kingpin. And if my first prediction is right, Hank will feel too sorry to turn in the newly-widowed Walt who is eventually going to die of cancer anyway leaving his children to be orphans that he and Marie will have to adopt.

Although, I can see a scenario where Hank informs Walt, or at least hints to him, that he knows and gives Walt "a head start" to get away, maybe that's how he ends up changing his identity. But I'm not sure if he will inform in an official report that Walter White is Heisenberg, maybe this makes him bend the rules further, perhaps "tidying up" the blue meth case to cover for Walt, and maybe that eventually lines up Hanks fall from grace. I'm pretty sure though, that the tension of Walt not knowing that Hank knows will be milked for a little while, followed by a climax of a head to head conflict of Walt and Hank.

I'm not sure about Hanks future, I'm not confident enough to say he will be killed, he could go either way. I would have to say that I want Hank to live but I think Marie has the best chance of surviving. Walt Jr. has a pretty good chance of surviving. Jesse has less of a chance than Walt Jr. Skyler has very little chance. Walt has zero chance. Saul has 100% chance. Holly, I'm not so sure, she may be a victim of my next prediction.

Prediction #4 - Chilean revenge for Gus' death and Walt's M60.

This is probably the most solid prediction I'll make. Gus' past before Mexico has been vaguely brushed over. We're pretty sure he was gay, not that that has anything to do with anything but I'll just go ahead and say it. We know he was a Generalissimo from Chile, which is the highest rank in their military. And we know that he still has friends who are alive, like the doctor in Mexico who treated him. We also can figure out that there possibly are still players connected to Madrigal that haven't been introduced to. The word of his death will spread, and I can see a group of people from Chile going after Walt to avenge him. Gus was a major part of an international drug trade and had many connections who I would assume wouldn't take news of his murder lightly.

Why else would Walt need an M60 machine gun? Unless he is going after the DEA, which I doubt, there is no other reason for him to have that. I don't see him using that against Todd's connections, that would be overkill. (pun intended) Even the gun dealer who supplied the M60 warns Walt about taking it over the border - so why would he bring that up unless he is fighting someone across the border? And who are Walt's real enemies now? Hank, possibly Jesse, possibly Todd's family, possibly Declan, the Arizona meth distributor that he refused the methyl-amine to, and whoever might not like that he killed Gus.

I think Gus is going to make an appearance in a flashback with these individuals, probably in the beginning of the next episode. Whoever they are, they are going to be the people who Walt goes after with an M60.

While many people may think the cartel killed Gus (as suggested by Declan), there are some people who know the truth. Declan knows Walt killed Gus, Lydia knows that Walt killed Gus, and those are two people that haven't proven their trust or loyalty. Lydia will stab someone in the back at any time if it means her survival. Declan we know nothing about except that he possibly fears Heisenberg, but his distribution gang doesn't seem so threatening to warrant an M60.

Although this has to fit in to Walt's new identity. If he's used Saul's "Disapearer" then why would he go back? I think that whoever is coming after Walt to avenge Gus' death may try to go after Walt's children when they can't find Walt For this to happen I will have to make a side prediction that Walt will go into hiding leaving his children with Hank and Marie, or just abandon Skyler and the kids if my first prediction is wrong.

Summary: List of predictions

1. Skyler is already poisoned with ricin, and she is the next to die.
2. Jesse will find out Walt's secrets and they will have a huge confrontation. Jesse will die by Walt's hand.
3. Hank will struggle with the ethics of turning Walt in. (obvious I know) Hank will never put the handcuffs on Heisenberg. (because of the French Connection reference)
4. Lydia will be threatened by Chileans to give information on Walt and his family, and she will break.
5. Holly and possibly Walt Jr. may die from the people seeking revenge for Gus.
6. Walt will seek revenge on the Chileans with the M60, and I can't see him winning that battle. But at the same time I'm pretty sure cancer will get Walt in the end.
7. The deaths will happen I think in this order:
- Skyler by Walt
- Lydia by Chileans
- Jesse by Walt or Todd
- Todd by Walt
- Holly and Walt Jr. by Chileans
- A lot of Chileans by Walt's M60
- Walt either by Hank (low chance), Chileans or cancer.

I'll come back and talk about the ones I get right, if any. There is a major part of me that hopes I'm completely and totally wrong, so that the show completely surprises me. Regardless of what happens, I'm so freaking anxious and it's annoying that the season is still 4 months away. I'm also pretty sad that there are only 8 hours left, but these are possibly going to be the best 8 hours of Breaking Bad that we've seen yet

Have you ready about the season 5b cold opening that was shown at comic con? It has been told to have shown...

Spoilers...

Walt removing the ricin from behind the wall socket

End Spoilers

If that is the case, then it may not have been used on Skylar like you predict.

My point is I'd rather watch fresh without the predictions of a bunch of internet users in the back of my mind, however far back.

By all means, predict away, I'm just stating my reason for not joining in despite your "college education" and "ingenuity" jabs.

You're basically doing a variation of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTc4zI_7-Ms

I hope it ends with Walt cutting some sort of deal with the DEA, where he gives them Madrigal/Lydia, Declan, Saul, maybe whoever took over the cartel in Mexico, etc... In exchange he gets put into witness protection but never gets to see his family again. Of course, how we get there from a shootout with an M60, I have no idea

This show is the shit. Acting is top tier and the show has delivered on both "oh shit" moments, and quality of content. I only started watching last week and just finished all 5 (or 4.5) seasons. Cannot believe I didn't start watching till now. 4 more days!
