yeh, that is stupid. just let people sit in empty seats and tell them to GTFO of the way if the ticket holder comes.heck, one of the RBC event staff supervisors told some people in my section to do just that, and that is in the lower courtside section.
11/17/2011 10:22:27 AM
Steve would never stand for that. If you're not in your assigned section, in your assigned row, and in your assigned seat, he will find you, and he will kill you.

11/17/2011 10:27:35 AM
Steve takes his job damn serious. Damn serious.
11/17/2011 10:35:31 AM
I'm pretty sure we got more offensive rebounds in that game than we had all season last year. I think minus letting their big number 34 drive and hook in the paint, we did great keeping them out of there (minus a few back door cuts in the second half). As far as there being no top 10 plays, I thought for sure Zo's takeaway steal would have been up there. There was no finesse in that at all, he just grabbed the ball out of that guys hands. It was awesome. And Vandy was a solid contributor last night. Gott even mentioned after the game he may have been the best defender on the floor. Princeton kept setting those high ball screens with his man and we would peel off and make the PG go around him instead of driving that open lane to the basket and breaking our defense down. He seriously used his size to his advantage in keeping people out of the paint and he did a great job blocking shots when guys tried to post him up under the basket. He is still not a fantastic offensive player, but he had six points (I think) and a bunch of rebounds in that game, and a few more blocks to add to his stats. He's my favorite player to root for.
11/17/2011 10:57:11 AM
Lorezo Brown is a man amongst boys.I hope he doesnt go pro soon.
11/17/2011 10:59:03 AM
Unless Brown improves his drive & shot, I don't see him going just yet. Though, that doesn't always stop players from doing such. I just think he needs more time at the #1 to be NBA ready.
11/17/2011 11:05:48 AM
I snuck into Steve's section once and once onlyI still walk with a limp
11/17/2011 11:09:47 AM
Lorenzo is a 4 year guy. Great college player, but he's not athletic enough to be any thing more than a fringe rotation player at the next level.
11/17/2011 11:12:05 AM
11/17/2011 11:12:54 AM
big V sure had some blocks... seemed like he got his hand on 3 or 4 there in the second half. and even got called on what 'looked like' almost clean blocks 1 or 2 times as well.
11/17/2011 11:16:51 AM
I think we need vandenblock and vandendunk signs. Cause thats awesome
11/17/2011 12:38:34 PM
11/17/2011 12:40:45 PM
^^ You'd just need one Vanden sign and then a couple of other signs for the guy next to you to hold. Have some like -Dunk, -Block, -Three (it could happen, he's european), -Wall (for when he knocks someone down while they're going to the basket). If I was still in Raleigh, I'd be there with the signs myself.

^he's australian, not austrian[Edited on November 17, 2011 at 1:55 PM. Reason : ]
11/17/2011 1:53:45 PM
(Australia isn't in Europe)
11/17/2011 1:54:23 PM
Well damn, I thought he was european. I guess I should pay more attention.*smacks forehead*/ I never really understand how Australians have time for basketball, what with trying to fight off a continent and waters actively trying to kill them. Guess it shows how little of a fuck they give.[Edited on November 17, 2011 at 1:58 PM. Reason : .]
11/17/2011 1:56:52 PM
You might be confusing him with the De Thaey, who is Belgian, which is European.
11/17/2011 1:59:47 PM
Did anybody mention that Zo twisted his ankle early in the week and then had the flu in the middle of the week? And then came out and completely led the team to a victory over Princeton.Zo > Harrow?[Edited on November 17, 2011 at 2:11 PM. Reason : Also, some of you tweeters need to make #Vandendunk #vandenblock and #vandenwall tags]
11/17/2011 2:10:44 PM
just curious, why are you bringing harrow into the discussion?
11/17/2011 2:13:04 PM
11/17/2011 2:15:53 PM
Harrow : Gets sick, sits out of rivalry game.Zo: twists ankle, gets sick, leads team to victory.I just wanted to point it out. The comparison is really more of a rhetorical question at this point.
11/17/2011 2:17:09 PM
tool late. your credibility just hit the worst possible level imaginable. just for bringing up the comparison period.
11/17/2011 2:18:56 PM
but for real, how good is lorenzo brown?guy is awesome. he makes more silly turnovers than i'd like, but i can live w/ it.]
11/17/2011 2:22:57 PM
I wasn't asking to compare their playing abilities. It was a roundabout way for me to give props to Zo because of his toughness. I respected that he came out and balled after having a shitty week.
11/17/2011 3:06:57 PM
Agree that Zo is a great college player but he has limited pro potential. He's too small and doesn't shoot or protect the ball quite well enough. I wouldn't be that surprised if we get four years out of him.I thought it was great when Gottfried yelled at him "You just got out of the way". The dude has the capability to be a great defender if he wants to be, but he was an awful defender last year. Hell, he got torched against Flagler this year and after the game Gottfried obviously sorted him out because he's been a steal machine ever since.Bottom line is that Gottfried is going to get a lot more out of these players in one offseason then Sidney would have over their whole career.
11/17/2011 3:41:30 PM
I think that Zo's NBA comparison is Rajon Rondo.
11/17/2011 3:50:50 PM
Lol, the best defensive PG in the NBA and a guy who could probably average 15 assists if he wanted to compared to the worst defensive PG in the ACC? That's a stretch.
11/17/2011 3:52:03 PM
^^^uhh what? Zo is 6-4, 6-5 dude. He is plenty big. His shot is what is holding him back.[Edited on November 17, 2011 at 3:53 PM. Reason : damn yall fast]
11/17/2011 3:53:03 PM
Worst defensive PG in the ACC?
11/17/2011 4:10:54 PM
dude what the fuck are you even talking about facenot NBA size? Worst defensive PG in the ACC?
11/17/2011 4:13:14 PM
we were talking about Lo Brown right? The guy who killed us on defense last year?Dont get me wrong I love Lobo and i think gottfried is making him work on his defense this year rather than just reaching in the whole game. He's not too small to play PG, but he's too careless with the ball to play PG in the NBA right now. He's what 185 lbs? How many SG's in the NBA weight 185 haha. Can he put on 20 lbs probably but will he be the same player? Not sure.I just checked and NBA draftnet doesnt have him round 1 or round 2 in the next two years. And they have harrow at the bottom of round 1 in two years (uh what?). [Edited on November 17, 2011 at 4:52 PM. Reason : a]
11/17/2011 4:45:26 PM
first of all, D Wade is the best defensive guard in the NBA Okay. Second, Rondo and Zo do have similar offensive games if you look at how he has played so far this season.
11/17/2011 5:30:01 PM
Jesus Christ, anyone putting Brown in the same sentence as Rondo (and Wade!?!?!) at this point his his career is jaded beyond belief. Some people see what they want to see, I guess. But have some perspective.
11/17/2011 5:53:41 PM
I know, honestly he's more of a cross between Michael Jordan and Jordan Farmar guys.
11/17/2011 5:56:02 PM
11/17/2011 5:57:13 PM
Yeah, 'Zo is a 4 year college player with pro potential if he improves his shot. Probably a backup PG at best though. That sounded really harsh after reading it. He's a very very good 4 year college player [Edited on November 17, 2011 at 6:06 PM. Reason : :]
11/17/2011 6:03:00 PM
Player A) 10.6 ppg, 11.2 ast shoots .475/.233/.568Player B) 9.3 ppg, 3.7 ast and shoots .413/.298/.713Player C) 25.5 ppg, 4.6 ast and shoots .500/.306/.758(last years stats)Guess which one is Rondo, DWade, and Lobes. They're really quite interchangeable.
11/17/2011 6:37:12 PM
Zo's three games into his sophomore season, and as being the floor general. He's doing pretty good. We'll all have a somewhat better idea of his pro potential in a couple months.
11/17/2011 6:37:24 PM
^That's basically all that I am trying to say.
11/17/2011 6:54:21 PM
zo wasnt even the worst defensive pg on his own team last seasonor this season, for that matterand he's a back up 1 in the nba if he works on his shot

11/17/2011 7:21:29 PM

I'll give Zo this, though. He has a better jump shot than Rondo. Bu then again, so do I.
