6/10/2012 5:47:55 PM
Complete meltdown by Teheran and Livan yesterday. Livan was horrendously bad.Yankees series starts tonight. Hope Texeria gets beaned in the nuts. Yanks are playing well right now, not the best time to be facing them. Unbalanced schedule sucks.
6/11/2012 9:08:12 AM
Nick Swisher... really? asshole
6/11/2012 8:32:47 PM

6/12/2012 10:22:15 PM
how do we get 7.1 great innings out of MIKE MINOR and BLOW IT!? garbage...the league has figured venters out
6/12/2012 10:29:55 PM
GD. Can a brotha get a hit with RISP?
6/13/2012 10:33:46 PM
^lol. 12 hits......2 runs
6/14/2012 12:20:15 AM
Wow terrible series for the Braves. For the most part they hit and pitched well and still got swept. No clutch hits like always. Now have lost 13 out of 21
6/14/2012 9:10:14 AM
So apparently Chipper is separating from his wife. Guess he saw that retirement coming giving him more time to pick up woman.Let's see if the Braves can snap their latest losing streak this weekend. Got Hanson tonight, Beachy tomorrow. Gotta win at least one of those...
6/15/2012 9:18:43 AM
Livan DFA'd
6/15/2012 5:01:26 PM

6/17/2012 11:39:54 AM
20 straight scoreless innings and going up against CC tomorrow. Ugh.
6/17/2012 4:12:46 PM
any chance of adding a bat?
6/17/2012 4:41:07 PM
Where? All 8 positions are pretty well locked up unless there's a huge trade. And I don't see that happening this early.
6/17/2012 4:51:29 PM
i don't know, but those 8 positions are doing dick in the way of scoring. if the right deal comes up for bourn, can't imagine they wouldn't take that considering they're just gonna let him walk anyway
6/17/2012 5:02:39 PM
I don't remember what changed with draft pick compensation this year, but Bourn would surely be a type A free agent if that matters; they'll get something for him. He's really the only trade bait (maybe Prado, but I love Prado so I won't even consider it), but there's nothing there to replace him. What team is going to deal for a CF in his walking year with another productive CF still under control? Jose Constanza bating leadoff and playing center?Braves have the 3rd highest run total in the NL. What they need is consistent starting pitching and middle relief. Pitchers have shit the bed in a major way this season. JJ is going to give up 12 at Fenway Friday.[Edited on June 17, 2012 at 5:25 PM. Reason : ]
6/17/2012 5:20:36 PM
yeah but they're only batting .241 with RISP, which is middle of the pack in the NL. it seems like they score runs in bunches, but can't do it consistently
6/17/2012 5:43:40 PM
Atlanta will make a trade for pitching help before they trade for a bat.
6/17/2012 7:58:56 PM
The Braves just need to get healthy and get some consistent pitching. Freeman is still out, Chipper is probably 70% as is McCann. It is no coincidence that they started sucking when those three all got hurt. No team loses the middle of the lineup without suffering. The biggest disappointment this year has been the regression of Minor, JJ, Venters, and EOF. Roger McDowell credibility watch.
6/18/2012 7:53:00 AM
Mike Minor gives up a lead?I'm shocked
6/18/2012 8:42:09 PM
Can we clone Prado 3 times? And break Jeters legs. [Edited on June 18, 2012 at 9:21 PM. Reason : .]
6/18/2012 9:19:21 PM
This is the streakiest team I have ever seen. Start the season 0-4, kill it for the next month and a half, lose 8 in a row, turn it around again for a while, and now this shit. We are fucked with this offense and our very subpar pitching, especially if beachy is out for the year.
6/18/2012 9:34:21 PM
Keeps getting worse...Kevin McAlpin ?@KevinMcAlpinBrandon Beachy's MRI revealed a partial tear. Will see team doctor tomorrow and will go for second opinion w/Dr Andrews. #BravesDavid O'Brien ?@ajcbraves#Braves Beachy has partial tear of ulnar collateral ligament. Usually means surgery. He'll get 2nd opinion from Dr. Andrews on Wed.[Edited on June 18, 2012 at 10:14 PM. Reason : .]
6/18/2012 10:12:00 PM
If you're making an appt. with Dr Andrews you're getting cut.
6/18/2012 10:19:29 PM
/seasonLosing Beachy is probably the nail in the coffin for this season barring some miracle comeback by JJ. He was the Braves only true frontline starter. No team is going far without an ace. The Braves could still be a .500 type team this year, but overall this team is way too inconsistent to fight their way into the playoffs. Freeman is supposedly coming back tonight if it matters. At least the season is going down the shitter in June this year as opposed to Sept.
6/19/2012 7:26:44 AM
there goes resigning Bourne.
6/19/2012 9:23:27 AM
I never gave much hope to the Braves resigning him anyway. He'll command too much money if he continues to put up the numbers he has so far this season and Liberty Media sure as hell isn't going to break open the bank.I wonder if they'll try to trade him now. They'd be wise to if they continue to suck like they have. No reason to hang on to him and get nothing in return. I wonder if the Braves will try and trade a SP or two as well. Both JJ and Hudson are probably expendable since they don't fit into the long term plans. This team is frustrating because everyone is reasonably good, but there is not one superstar on the team that can help carry the team during these funks. Hopefully they at least hang onto Prado.
6/19/2012 9:31:08 AM
Chipper's $13m comes off the books next year. I think that alone gives the Braves a shot a Bourn; I'll be pissed if they don't at least make at respectable effort at resigning him. Dude's an elite talent and all it cost to get him here was shitbag Jordan Schafer. The trade window for JJ is closed forever now. They'll never get any value out of him. I can see Hudson going somewhere at the deadline. That's another $9m freed up for Mike. If Prado gets traded, I will resign my Braves fanhood and follow him. I am so gay for Prado.
6/19/2012 9:54:25 AM
^Prado is the ultimate man's man in baseball. Dude plays everywhere, hits like a boss, never complains, always hustles. Probably the best damn player on the team right now and the past year or two and nobody ever talks about him.
6/19/2012 10:59:57 AM
Agree completely about Prado. Dude is All Star and can play 7 positions. Can't believe the Braves were ready to trade him this past season. As for the Bourne resigning, I just have no faith in Liberty Media to give Bourne the money he will command. Also I question some whether the Braves should sign him to a 6-7 year deal since he is almost 30. Given the financial restraints the Braves face, I'd hate for them to have Bourne with a $15MM/ye deal and then not have money to keep some of the other players who will be FAs in the future (like Kimbrel). Maybe if they can get Bourne in that $12MM range, it'd be less risky.
6/19/2012 4:10:19 PM
either trade bourne for something really good, or let him go and get a top pick in return at the end of the season.
