^^^^^^ That's a pretty nice new Subaru for $21k. According to their website you can get it in manual.

Also a true statement.[Edited on October 24, 2012 at 10:15 AM. Reason : but $28k for an E46? No way. I'd spend a few more bucks and get an E90/E92.]
10/24/2012 10:12:46 AM
How many E46 M3s are out there with only 25k on the odometer? You probably wouldn't pay $30k for a 5 year old Cayman S either
10/24/2012 10:23:20 AM
E46 M3? Blech...it's like a fatter E36 M3 without much going for it. A bit more horsepower, but same engine basically, heavier, wider, etc. Depends on what you're going for I guess, but in terms of track I just feel like an E36 M3 is so much better of a choice. Do a search and look back at some of Ahmet's comments about E46 vs E36...he was dissapointed with E46 and he's a big fan of the E36 M3. If you sold your S2000, you could pick up a NICE E36 M3 for like 10k and still have tons of money to work on it with. With that much trade-in on your S2000, it might be worth looking at a new or slightly used 135i instead. Or, like Duke said, go with the actually different E90/92 M3.That is a LOT of money for an E46 that will probably need a lot of work anyways, because it's still a 7 year old BMW. You're paying a premium for low mileage, which I can't stand personally.

Basically I would only go for this M3 to experience something new, for the short term.I want a 3000 +/- lb sports car. Ideally a Cayman S. I don't see an M3 changing my mind. Ultimately I have no interest in owning a BMW. Too heavy, too expensive to maintain, too fragile (newer ones). My train of thought here would be to trade for the BMW and then hopefully get more money for it when I find the Cayman S I want. Does that sound realistic?

i may be coming into a (84?) volvo 240 sedan, minus drivetrain, by helping a friend swap the diesel engine (currently in the car) into his 240 wagon. thinking sbc may be in order...

Haha I'd be an 1826 sq ft house with ~1050 sq ft garage. Met with a contractor, but still just thinking about it.

how to make a centrifugal blower make boost down low... make it the size of your engine.
11/1/2012 3:06:17 PM
I feel like the Integra is starting to border on not being safe to drive and there's so much going wrong with it that I don't have the time and money to see to it. And the expense of owning 2 cars is getting on my nerves. If the Integra goes, I'll also be selling the S2000 b/c its not practical enough. So I might start looking at 2009+ Subaru WRX STI hatches
11/6/2012 8:54:55 AM
the 09s have a better short block but..... still have their issues. to be honest the engine design for the 2.5 is just not ideal. The 2.2 and 2.0 are much stronger imho.
11/6/2012 12:13:33 PM
insight appreciated, but with just very mild modding and 1-2 track events a year (not on R comps) would it be okay?

'MERICUHHHHHHHH....japan edition!sadly though, they nailed the formula. take a dumb american thing (in this case a Camaro) and add a bunch of typical "upgrades" from an APC catalog for another dumb american thing (i.e. any truck from the last 2 decades).

A pre-owned 2013 (weird I know) Subaru BRZ Limited is available at a dealership in Charlotte (they called me about it yesterday). 6 Speed manual, 3700 miles, every option, clear bra protection on front, dark gray color...$27,995.00 I have to say I'm tempted. And coincidentally enough I have a potential buyer coming to look at the S2000 on Sunday. I currently have it listed online for $22k.[Edited on January 25, 2013 at 9:14 AM. Reason : k]
1/25/2013 9:13:20 AM
What was the sticker on it/How much is a new one with those options?
1/25/2013 10:40:10 AM
Around $30k. Also important to remember that there's more or less a 6 month wait for a new BRZ.[Edited on January 25, 2013 at 11:27 AM. Reason : k]
1/25/2013 11:27:11 AM
Yeah I know they're high demand...that's why I was curious.
