But i just ventured over to Pack Pride, and if IC is worse, then damn, that's pretty bad.

We should start a thread for all the ridiculous comments that get posted on PP. There are some real shit-heads over there.

IC is bad because there are just soooo many Wal-mart UNC fans who are retarded and the moderation over there is pretty piss-poor. However, I imagine it can be pretty difficult to moderate all of those bandwagon fans who attempt suicide at every basketball loss. Also, the basketball board is much much worse than the football board because all of the bandwagon fans don't care about football. So there are more alumni and diehards on the football board.

The other bad thing about IC is that it's full of stuck-up/holier than thou UNC fans.

That being said...I think PackPride is pretty bad. They are just different places because there are soooo many UNC basketball fans. The obsession with UNC on PackPride is pretty sad.

^I frequent the Tar Pit often...and that's not even close to true. Maybe on a day when there's an article on Russel Wilson there will be a couple threads...but UNC doesn't give a shit about us unless they are playing us that weekend.

We have several threads about UNC on our boards consistently...whether or not we played them yesterday or 6 months ago.

It's correct when you compare it to our obsession with them. Be realistic. They hate us when we beat them. When they are beating us, they like it, then they move on to Duke or whatever unrealistic goal they have in football. When they are losing to us, they talk a little bit more about us.

If we lose to them, we hate it and get depressed. When we beat them, we are still obsessed with them. We have beat them 4 years in a row and we still have an inferiority complex.

I'll put it this way:

If you look at non-UNC threads on the Tar Pit over the course of a year, it probably goes 20% State, 15% Duke, and then 65% rest of the ACC or whatever else is going on in the NCAA (Cam Newton, coaching searches, where is Clowney going, etc.). IC basketball is completely obsessed with Duke...and that whole board is batshit crazy that it's hard to even quantify what they talk about.

On Packpride, non-State threads are 90% UNC...10% everything else.

And while we certainly have an inferiority complex to them in basketball, I don't know how you could claim an inferiority complex in football. They're just another W on the schedule.

I almost feel sorry for their football fans though. They want to be a powerhouse program, yet they also want to take pride in having Duke as their main rival...in FOOTBALL

Basketball, sure, Duke is great, and a great rival...but when they act like they'd rather have Duke as their main football rival...thats just pretty sad

I don't think most State fans really separate the two. It's more obvious in basketball...but the complex relates to everything that is UNC...so it bleeds into everything...even sports where we are more even (like football...even with our recent winning streak, it's pretty even the past 20 or so years).

So do I dipshit and absolutely there were. I was visiting it daily, I just can't post there yet. There were more threads and discussions on State than I was expecting from a school that says we aren't their rivals. There were multiple threads on State athletics up until shortly after signing day.

Another good example is on Saturday game days (football), there is always a thread started on Packpride before a UNC game starts that says "UNC/Clemson game thread" or whatever teams UNC is playing. The thread is always multiple pages, usually ranging from 5-10. Go over to the tarpit, and at some point during the first half someone will make a thread about whatever game State is playing in and the first post will be "anybody watching the State game??...blah blah." The thread maybe gets to page 2.

You're in denial if you don't think we're obsessed with UNC and that they are only mildly concerned with State. There might be a few more State topics than usual because we've beat them 4 in a row...but I've definitely gone over there expecting to find more topics about State and been surprised at how they mostly don't give a crap.

I use to post on IC all the time in college. They were a little more tolerant and I also knew my limits and never really pissed anyone off. Then I got suspended from some retarded misunderstanding where they thought I was bashing one of their players when I was actually complimenting him. But that was near the end of the Herb era and I was just done with packpride/IC all together.

I sometimes think about trying to post over there again...but their fans are so fucking delusional now that its just not worth it (mostly football...the basketball board is almost un-readable with the massive amount of bandwagoners/wal-mart fans/idiots it has).
