9 game win streakStarting. Now.

I understand pro pitchers aren't the best hitters. But how does a professional athlete pull an oblique swinging a bat? Really.
5/13/2011 9:40:25 PM
McCann is PISSED.
5/13/2011 9:42:17 PM
if you swung it hard as they do, im sure you might run the same risk. from my experience, stopping midswing can hurt...
5/13/2011 10:09:26 PM
Dan uggla and his mendoza line bullshit is pissing me off
5/13/2011 11:01:08 PM
I don't know if they've found a new muscle but why is this year the year of that one muscle. Fuck hammles and his .300 BA
5/13/2011 11:27:56 PM
strained oblique is pretty common in baseball...
5/13/2011 11:53:55 PM
You might be right but I just hear about it a lot this year
5/13/2011 11:59:52 PM
Damn, very entertaining game. Got drunk as piss but no victory. Prado and Gonzo rule
5/14/2011 12:48:13 AM
Just looked at todays shit. Way to go prado. Nice win.
5/14/2011 4:38:13 PM
lol morgan freeman
5/15/2011 3:19:42 PM
One missed strike call on Friday away from a sweepNice to see Uggla remember how to play baseball, though
5/15/2011 5:56:25 PM
Chipper with a tear in whichever knee he didn't hurt last year. Gonna sit for a few days, but it could require surgery. I'd think that would mean Prado to third, Hinske to left, which would be fine unless (until) Hinske cools off. Would also mean Diory Hernandez and Conrad see more time and they suck.Meanwhile, Braves have the best run differential in baseball.]
5/16/2011 9:38:34 AM
Goddamn. Again. Really. WTF did Chipper do to the baseball gods? They really do hate him.
5/16/2011 9:47:44 AM
More like the Hooters gods
5/16/2011 9:57:06 AM
As soon as I saw your name as the last replier I KNEW it would be a hooters reference.
5/16/2011 10:05:48 AM
hmm.. who can we get for the OF.. I nominate Ichiro.
5/16/2011 10:08:54 AM
5/16/2011 12:25:33 PM
^ Too many close losses and quite a few blow out wins.Did not realize Beachy went on the DL too. Teheran to pitch on Wed per the AJC? Hopefully Chipper's knee will hold up and he won't need more surgery. Injuries really starting to catch up to the Braves and depleting their otherwise deep roster. Thank God for Hinske. He and Ross both deserve to start for some team somewhere.
5/16/2011 1:36:58 PM
Scott Proctor called up to take Beachy's roster spot
5/16/2011 1:46:25 PM
I saw Heyward at lunch today, he said he was going to be fine
5/16/2011 2:26:46 PM
Lunch? I thought you just walked around with one of those feeding bags, like a horse.
5/16/2011 2:34:02 PM
yeah, thats exactly what I do. Two of them actually.
5/16/2011 2:35:54 PM
^^ lol.And Scott Proctor. WTF? Proctor, Sherrill, and Linebrink = mediocre bullpen in 2008, much, much less in 2011.
5/16/2011 2:56:38 PM
Proctor's contract had a stipulation that he had to be called up by May 15. He'll probably make 3-4 appearances and get DFA'd.

apparently Murph is on twitter now... I thought Mormons hated Twitter@DaleMurphy3not quite as old as that, but my room back at my parents still has the posters on the wall from the early 90s:[Edited on May 17, 2011 at 12:53 AM. Reason : d]

^ congrats on getting into the Beta club, that is a pretty exclusive group. As for the Braves, Hinske continues to be the catalyst for the team. Got the rally started that led to the 2 run inning and then got the game winning RBI. Hanson pitched very well outside of a couple mistakes he made to Downs. LOL at the Astros manager for pitching to Mather with 1B open and runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Should have walked him and forced Gonzalez to pinch hit for Hanson. Also fuck the Marlins, please begin to realize you are not as good as your record.[Edited on May 17, 2011 at 8:19 AM. Reason : vb]

OMG Scott Proctor
5/17/2011 3:11:16 PM

5/17/2011 3:35:36 PM
Fellow Beta Club member Brian McCann with the game tying, two out, two strike HR
5/17/2011 3:37:21 PM
master beta club members, the two yutes
5/17/2011 3:41:03 PM
oh snap!!! Yes we McCann.Anyone know what he will be doing later tonight?
5/17/2011 4:16:12 PM
golden corrall .. gitchusome
5/17/2011 4:19:55 PM
Great win, gg to McCann for two huge homeruns. Pretty good day considering he did not even start.Gearin got in a jam, but somehow got out of it to earn his first career win. Love how this team is playing right now. Great pitching, good offense, surprisingly good defense (especially Gonzalez), and a clutch bench.
5/17/2011 4:32:36 PM
I had that same Firing Squad poster Jaybee....good times
5/17/2011 7:58:20 PM
I got some original tomahawks too from the first year they gave them out (for use during the game, not the wooden and plastic ones that were around forever)
5/17/2011 8:01:28 PM
Anyone got an otis nixon poster.
5/17/2011 8:47:34 PM
Shit. I had a Zane Smith poster.
5/17/2011 9:09:45 PM
And Andres Thomas.
5/17/2011 9:25:05 PM
I had a poster of Howard Johnson absolutely blowing up Mark Lemke on the pivot at 2nd
5/17/2011 9:48:05 PM
I think lemke was the most flexible second basemen ever. The cards I have of him he is in an akward positon throwing the ball in everyone of them.
5/18/2011 12:22:03 AM
1.5 games back, beatrice
5/18/2011 7:12:22 AM
When I was in 5th or 6th grade, it was around 1991 when the Braves made the run to the WS and Lemke tore shit up on Minnesota (would have won the WS MVP if not for Lonnie Smith forgetting how to run the bases). Anyway I was big into baseball cards and actually used to sell them at a flea market along with my older brother. This was in Florida so the Braves were very popular and I got $9 bucks for a Lemke rookie during the WS. I put it in a screw down case to make it look valuable. Someone, somewhere probably still has that <1 cent card still in a screw down case.
5/18/2011 10:32:56 AM
Smith was coked out of his mind. I'm surprised he didn't try to snort the baselines.
5/18/2011 10:55:20 AM
i've got a whole book of 90s braves baseball cards...Justice, Sanders, Gant, McGriff, etc etc. it's so beautiful
5/18/2011 10:56:26 AM
Keep that shit locked up like pandoras box my friend
5/18/2011 11:41:24 AM
I've got one of the big two-inch binders full of Braves cards from 84-94ishAnd two or three boxes full of other cardsStill in my closet, I don't know why--Gearrin sent down to Gwinett to make room for Teheran. The other option was to release Linebrink, who's probably on his last life right now.[Edited on May 18, 2011 at 1:02 PM. Reason : ]

Pretty sure Ross dumped two cups of dirt on McCann yesterday after the walkoff
