The legal argument has been settled like nine pages ago.I'm arguing that it shouldn't be an issue of *any* sort unless you're stupid or have a deep sense of sympathy towards stupid people.
8/10/2010 12:05:44 PM
I guess no one should feel offended at anything unless they were stupid HURR HURR DERP

^^You've already made up your mind, as have a lot of the other people in this thread. Anyone that could possibly be against building this mosque, or any mosque, is a stupid racist.Sometimes, you need to take a step back and realize how ignorant you sound.

I've never seen liberals come to the defense of a right-wing fundamentalist with such vigor as you guys have latched onto this Imam. If he simply believed in Jesus instead of Allah you duplicitous motherfuckers would be denouncing him from the rooftops(this bears repeating until the end of the thread)
8/10/2010 1:53:57 PM
No, we wouldn't.

Yes, repeat ridiculous speculation based on your childish fantasies of what liberals think.

He's as much a fundamentalist as your hated southern baptists are.just because he doesn't explicitly support suicide bombing doesn't mean he's not a fundamentalist... That's more of a commentary on islam, if that's how you're defining muslim fundamentalist.

What's Right with Islam systematically lays out the reasons for the current dissonance between these cultures and offers a foundation and plan for improved relations. Solinari: post a single piece of credible evidence
8/10/2010 9:28:01 PM
^ your problem is that you require credible evidence. Drop that requirement, and it’ll be easy for you to understand Solinari’s heros like Orly Taitz or Glen Beck.
8/11/2010 2:43:01 AM
It's funny -- I had a huge argument on Facebook over this. The guy I was arguing with had the time to post multi-page essays, but when I asked for a single piece of credible evidence, he has mysteriously disappeared for days. I guess he suddenly got busy, just like Solinari.
8/11/2010 8:31:08 AM
The information you claim to desire is available at your fingertips. I see no reason to do your legwork. If his explicit refusal to condemn Hamas isn't enough to convince you, then I guess it doesn't really matter what I would post. The Bible calls this, "casting pearls before swine." Greg with the equivocation yet again. Lovely. How about dangerous homophobia among right-wing Christians in this country? Maybe every religious institution should have an adjoining gay bar. Then the republicans would have somewhere to go every day of the week rather than just Wednesday and Sunday.[Edited on August 12, 2010 at 8:21 AM. Reason : .]

The only harassment in this case is from people like you, trying to deny and heckle people out of their right to worship in peace. You have no evidence and no justifiable concern. Americans are afraid of their own fucking shadows L O L

I actually do believe Islam is a threat, even more so than most religions. That said, as long as we live in this country with this Constitution they absolutely should be allowed to build this thing.

8/13/2010 9:54:35 AM
Maybe I should explain myself. I'm not saying it's impossible for Muslims to worship in peace because they're Muslims. I'm saying the very definition of a religious organization precludes any level of worship that will not affect people that don't share their faith.

The great "Ground Zero mosque" hoax
8/13/2010 6:08:58 PM
Breaking news on CNN:
8/13/2010 8:50:20 PM
I searched "45 park place new york ny" in Google Maps. That doesn't look like a site for a "Ground Zero Mosque" to me. It's just going to be a building a couple blocks away. You can see it's not even within view of the subway station. I have been to the old WTC site via the subway stop and I don't see this "interfering" with the potential tourism. Another example of people freaking out about crap based on media hype.

http://www.in.com/videos/watchvideo-the-daily-show-municipal-landuse-hearing-update-9146735.htmlThe Daily Show did a good bit that points out that how it's not just because the mosque is "near" ground zero that's the problem, it's general religious-fascism that's driving the opponents of the mosque.the second part of the segmenthttp://www.in.com/videos/watchvideo-the-daily-show-municipal-landuse-update-ground-zero-mosque-9146729.htmlApparently there's been a mosque 4 blocks from ground zero for the past 40 years. Which is inside of the 5 block radius that the Republican pundits were prescribing for their Constitution-free zone around the WTC site.
