I thought this was encouraging from O'Brien in a recent interview:"Certainly after last year all those young kids played in the secondary. They grew up a lot. I think the tell-tale statements to me after about two weeks of spring ball I asked Earl Wolff what he has learned in spring, he told me he learned he really didn't know anything last year. He was finding things out that he didn't have any clue about. I think that's a positive going forward for those kids in the secondary. They don't have to grow up as fast as they did last year but they'll have to certainly play a lot better."[Edited on June 28, 2010 at 11:15 AM. Reason : edit][Edited on June 28, 2010 at 11:19 AM. good gosh... TOB uses the word "certainly" as often as normal people use "a" and "the." I know it's not breaking news, but dammit man.

Christian Ponder will be in the top 6, and probably a couple more fucks from unc. What bothers me is that BC, MD, Duke, and Virginia account for 8 players on the list, and Nate and our WRs will be left off.

whispers on PP of a big time commitment this afternoon/evening.
6/28/2010 1:31:17 PM
Any ideas on who it could be?
6/28/2010 1:33:57 PM
not really, people are wildly throwing names around like Stephen Rivers or Stephone Anthony but that doesn't mean a whole lot.
6/28/2010 1:38:43 PM
^ESPN recruiting (as shitty as it may be) says that Stephen Rivers has narrowed his list to 3 and we're not on it (FSU, Miss St, UCLA).
6/28/2010 1:55:46 PM
^ I'm fine with that. We've got some pretty good QB talent on the roster with Glennon and Brosious when he gets to college and you know he doesn't want to have to try and live up to what PR did. Anyone with any PP Insider stuff know what position this potential recruit today may be?

a visit from a 3 star QB isn't really big news in my book, but whatever
6/28/2010 9:59:14 PM
Yeah, I mean it's cool that he came to visit and all and that some on PP said that Philip is behind him going to NCSU, but at the same time I was hoping for a legit recruit to be landed. Some have said TOB is right on schedule where he normally is recruiting-wise at this point, but still.......
6/28/2010 11:03:24 PM
Even if he did commit it wouldn't make a huge difference as to where the program is as a whole, QB play hasn't been the problem the past 2 seasons and it doesn't look to be a problem for the next 3. A stud LB or DB committing would be a different story altogether, but unfortunately that isn't the case.
6/28/2010 11:40:54 PM
Brass, I'm trying to understand your strategy. I noticed you didn't include any other ACC QB's in your top 5, so I see we're trying to keep them out.But why Garrett Gilbert? I'm not sure why an appearance in the national championship game would warrant the honor of being mentioned in the top 15 QB's in the country by ESPN to start with. Not to mention he accounted for 5 turnovers in that game. But you would assume that they would rank them based on established stats and experience.Tyrod Taylor, for example, would be a more appropriate name to mention I think.
6/29/2010 12:04:35 AM
You vote for the ones behind RW not the ones in front of him, so that he can move up. That's the strategy.

Do you have his preview mag?Its rediculous, according to him, they have the #1 DT, #1 DE, #1 OLB, #1 MLB, two top 10 corners and a top 5 safetyHe also has State to finish dead last in our division
7/3/2010 2:58:36 PM
I don't know about you guys but I just got really excited about next season this past week. I think its because UNC is getting so much hype and that I know State is better than them so there's no reason we can't win a lot of games.
7/3/2010 4:00:48 PM
I know their D is supposed to be good, but RW lit them up for 4 TD's. I think they'll be really good, but are getting too much hype heading into next year. I'd love to see LSU rough them up.
