you've only got 5 days left to play
6/2/2010 10:01:53 PM
haha 5 days > 0 days
6/2/2010 11:09:12 PM
I imagined they'll give out several more when the beta restarts to stress their servers and whatnot....mayhaps!
6/2/2010 11:10:56 PM
All those precious minutes wasted to unlock that terran avatar... only to start over. Im going gold this time round
6/5/2010 1:24:39 AM
In regards to the campaign, I've been trying to remember as much of the story from the first game as I could. I never played through the Zerg campaign, but I did do Terran and Protoss. How much information about who/what Samir Duran was ever revealed in the story? I'm wondering if we'll see him again in this game.
6/5/2010 8:24:55 PM
I have it but I am not playing it. I sowwy

6/10/2010 8:19:48 PM
Been doing QXC buildorder tester and some hard AI for my fix, wtb p2 =(
6/10/2010 10:25:50 PM
How are you getting hard level AI? All I see is easy, and it's pathetically so.
6/11/2010 12:52:23 AM
Nah dude, those 3 unit rushes 2 hours into the game get me everytime
6/11/2010 2:24:13 AM
^^ cracked versions have harder AIs that "cheat" - i.e. they gather resources much faster. Still, they're quite a bit harder than the "easy" level
6/11/2010 10:39:11 AM
yep using some crazy program written in chinese ><
6/11/2010 10:50:32 AM
I'm having serious SC2 withdrawal.
6/11/2010 11:49:00 AM
^ I don't know *twitch* what you're talking about. I'm not *twitch* going through withdrawal at all It's sad how addictive the beta of this game was. It's also sad that the thing that killed my desire to play WoW more than any other game was another Blizzard game!
6/11/2010 12:28:18 PM
FYI: Beta phase 2 imminent! People have been patching all day, lotta players expecting it to be back up tonight or soon thereafter!
7/7/2010 5:02:10 PM
SHIIIIIITTTTTT!!!!!
7/7/2010 7:10:12 PM
Its up for me
7/7/2010 10:59:48 PM
It's up for me. Played against the AI tonight. Got owned by 2v2 Hard AIs. Really rusty after a month of not playing :/
7/8/2010 12:43:20 AM
Different difficulty levels against AI now? Excellent.
7/8/2010 1:15:16 AM
yeah, all AI levels unlocked!
7/8/2010 9:23:17 AM
Oh shit, I wish I wasn't at work still. Wait, I can remote into my machine and play in secret.... lol
7/8/2010 3:04:25 PM
what?! its back up? nice!
7/8/2010 3:54:41 PM
I am getting this error when I try to update. Specifically when the update is installing
7/8/2010 8:58:09 PM
What's up with the 2 placement matches? I did my two, but I'm still not ranked.
7/8/2010 11:25:09 PM
Its a known bug, the counter is supposed to be 4. Itll go from 2 to -2, then rank you.
7/8/2010 11:26:47 PM
Phase 2 means a new onslaught of bugs to flush out. Then once it's relatively stable, Blizzard will yank the beta, and simply release. I'd uninstall and reinstall based on that error message, looks completely hosed.
7/9/2010 8:25:20 AM
And i still suck at this game! But i love playing it.
7/9/2010 9:26:28 AM

7/10/2010 3:08:07 PM
My computer crashed both times I tried to enable it.
7/10/2010 4:20:00 PM
^ I just use skype instead. Anyone been getting dropped systematically by BattleNet to "Agree" to the ToS ?Happened to me last night during a placement match Also, every time I login I have to agree to the ToS
7/10/2010 7:13:54 PM
http://us.starcraft2.com/features/gameplay/hyperion.xmlI dont know if anyone has seen this. But there is a overview of some of the single player details. Might be useful in multi-player as well at some point
7/11/2010 7:20:57 PM
^^That hasn't happened to me yet, only had to agree to it the first time.
7/11/2010 7:56:21 PM
So I didnt click the leave game button when I won and I dont think there is anyway to actually get out of the game after that without killing the program.
7/11/2010 8:02:29 PM
Cant you just open the menu and click "Score Screen" (or something to that effect)? That always does it for me when I do what you did.I'm interested in putting some effort into getting better at SC2, anyone got any resources beside the videos that husky and HD put up? I dont understand some of the terms they use.Anyone know any guides or starter tutorials?I'm looking for information like what types of damage the units do, how much, what they are good against/bad against, etc...
7/11/2010 8:15:19 PM
I am addicted to the damn vikings as terran. I never have defenses early on grrrr
7/11/2010 8:17:57 PM
^^This will probably have some info once the game actually comes out: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/939643-starcraft-ii-wings-of-liberty You can check the message boards on there too, there is probably some good stuff in them.
7/11/2010 9:30:05 PM
^^^What terms do they use that you don't understand?
7/11/2010 9:31:43 PM
^^^^ HD and Husky are probably the most entertaining of the commentators I watch. If you want more in depth / mechanics stuff, check out day[9]'s dailies on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/day9tv#g/uHe's a little long-winded, but REALLY REALLY in-depth. Lotta good info there. Also, check out teamliquid.net for charts and stuff. And what terms don't you understand? Macro? Micro? I can help a little!^^^ My favorite BO is quick cloaked banshees. They will destroy an economy while you tech switch or go MMM. I think I'm about 75% win-rate w/ them. I also like transitioning from quick cloaked banshees into mech.
7/11/2010 9:39:20 PM
^that sounds like a pretty fun idea. Do you have a specific build order I could use?
7/11/2010 10:45:09 PM
Here are a couple of my questions:--------------------------------------------In the build order they list, they list things like:9 - pylon.Does that mean that in when I start building the probe that will take the 9 resource slot, the 8th probe should start building the pylon, or that the 9th probe that comes out should build the pylon?--------------------------------------------A lot of the strats say to continue building gatherers as much as you can, but that seems like an awful lot of them. Where do you stop? 20?--------------------------------------------I'm never sure what kind of units to build, or how to tell what the enemy is gearing up for. I assume that comes with experience, but I'm not able to yet tell by thier buildings what units they are going for, and even if I did, I don't know what kind of units are best against them.I usually just end up building a handful of zealots, a handful of stalkers, an observer, and a few immortals before my first attack. The outcome is usually I get my ass stomped, or they are already in my base before I have the army built up enough to defend myself.Any hints?
7/11/2010 11:00:06 PM
anyone got a spare beta code? PM me if you do
7/11/2010 11:00:55 PM
I have learned an awful lot by reading the Wiki. Might see if there's info in it which can help?http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/StarCraft_Wiki
7/11/2010 11:51:07 PM
^^^^I need to write down the exact BO, but it goes something like this (I'm not exact on the numbers, just estimates):-pull first SCV off line for wall-off depot @ 9/11, send SCV scouting afterward, grab watchtower on the way back-13? Rax-Orbital Command (15 or 16?)-Double Refinery-Call down MULEs nonstop-Build factory as soon as you get the first 100 gas (you should have 150 minerals, no prob)-Build Starport immediately after factory-Add tech lab to factory (I usually add a reactor to the Rax about now, and keep pumping marines)-Liftoff factory and move out of way. Land starport on the unused tech lab. Immediately make 1 banshee (hotkey E) and start the cloaking upgrade (C) - (You should definitely have the 350 minerals, 300 gas required by now).-Set the starport rally point to somewhere just outside of the enemy mineral line. -Depending on the rush distance, you might add another starport (don't forget to add it to your starport hotkey binding and re-rally)!-Pile up banshees til you have the cloak tech done and go straight to the line and ONLY kill the workers (don't kill the buildings). You pretty much only get one shot at this before the enemy throws up cannons or turrets. If done right, you'll cutoff all mining.Things to consider:-After the initial banshee attack, the enemy will likely attack. Usually you can survive by sending a handful of SCVs to the wall-in to repair (make sure auto-repair is turned on!!). And keep your marine army behind the wall.-This build is HORRIBLE against hardcore rushes, ESPECIALLY reapers (that's what the marines are for). If reapers are coming, rally the rax to the mineral line and don't put the reactor down cuz it'll halt production for a long time.-I usually bind my starports to "4" and attacking banshee group to "5". Once the banshees are out, you'll have to micro them a little in the enemy mineral line. DON'T waste the investment!-Usually, you'll attack w/ 2 or 3 cloaked banshees. The alternative is to attack w/ 1 non-cloaked banshee and reinforce, but watch out for queens. If that's too difficult, I might post a replay of me doing this build. During phase 1, I went 4-1 on my placement matches w/ this build. I lost to reaper rush Good Luck! Try it and tell me what you think!Edit: wanted to add this about saturation: most of the time, you can tell if it's saturated. If saturated: workers will swap out w/ each other (2 per patch) almost seamlessly. If oversaturated, they'll appear to be swarming all over the patches, and it means you should've expanded and maynarded them![Edited on July 12, 2010 at 1:09 AM. Reason : saturation edit]
7/12/2010 12:48:54 AM
Read liquipedia! Always build workers, esp if zerg. Ill usually end with ~75ish workers for a decent game. Takes ~26 workers to "saturate" most bases.
