I saw a BRZ coming down Jones Franklin Rd Near Tryon the other day. Blue BRZ. Looked pretty damn awesome. At first I thought it was a Genesis coupe with a factory aero kit or something, then I noticed the Subaru badge. Then I was like WOAH. Looked good.

So in this month's R&T they seem quite confident there will a FI version. They mentioned the rumor of a 280 Scion model and a 274 hp Scooby version. Wonder where they're hearing that. And then Motor Trent mentions the coming of a FI version during their Best Driver's Car competition.Hmm, really wondering where they're hearing this crap b/c there is nothing on the internet.

There's an interesting thread on S2ki in the racing and track section about the FT-86. Stock vs stock, the S2000 dominates it, as expected, but folks are saying the FT-86 catches up pretty quickly with mods. Far better aero seems to be part of the reason (S2000 being pretty much a pig aerodynamically).It'll be interesting to see how the aftermarket turbo ones do when they hit the track, and how the factory ones do if they ever really happen.I somewhat want to go sit in one again, this time with a helmet, and see if the headroom issues would really bother me wearing a helmet or not.

^^^Yeah I've been reading all of psychoazn's posts. Interesting stuff. The big aerodynamic problem with the S2000 is rear lift more than anything else. Sure it's got drag at the speeds most stock S2000 circle a track it's that rear end lift that makes things trickier in high speed turns

on e85... that ain't shit.... no really.... those internals are being cooled back down to stock like sizes and stress levels thanks to the 109 octane and fuck ton of energy e85 obsorbs. i would drive it on track for DAYS like that. and i bet the motor would even run cool with stock cooling system... you'd have to put a shit ton of fuel in it but... it would be fine

there is one near downtown and one off 55 in chapel hill... yes... i'm still kicking around the idea of converting... all i'm saying is those numbers ARE on e85 so that's what you should consider. it would probably be 6 psi on pump and 280whp

yeah... for subies... the 8500 rpm guys will use twin scroll gt40s and borgs of similar size on 2.5s with huge cams +1mm valves etc. but they're the guys holding speed records and such.

Saw a BRZ at the 1/4 mile strip today. It did 3 or 4 passes and they ranged between 15.7 and 16.0 with trap between 88 and 90mph.

An FRS parked behind me yesterday at 286 when I was biking. Talked to the owner for a few minutes, and while he seemed to really enjoy his car, he told me that he would prefer an S2000 over it.

There were 5 FRS/BRZs in attendance at this week's C&C and I spent a lot of time talking with 1-2 owners. One was very interested in my S2000 and after he looked around it for a while I went over and checked out his BRZ. Nice looking car all around and I was amazed at how much space there is under the hood! I'm not talking about EU pedestrian crash standards space. More like you could put a large pizza box on the engine, close the hood, and not worry about pinching it at all. Really makes me question why the hood line is so high!When sitting in the car I really liked the position of the gauges, gear shifter and steering wheel. Also the seat felt great and very supportive. However, I do not have enough leg room. Every account that I have heard from tall people regarding the interior is that they were comfortable and had enough leg room. So I was quite surprised to find that I could not slide the seat back enough to be completely comfortable. There was still clearance between the seatback and the rear seat cushion too. All I need is 1-2 extra clicks in the track . As the car sits now I would say it's leg room is inferior to the S2000 and on par with my GS-R.Could be another deal breaker for me as I told myself my next car would have more leg room. Wonder if you can buy aftermarket seat mounts that let the seat go back further??
