Gosh we miss Jamal Williams. Rivers looked like he wanted to line up at DT that play.

Accepting that holding just cost the offense 45 seconds for the same kick...

It was the call you usually take to hopefully back them out of FG range. But then again, everyone knew they would dump the ball off to the back for yards and time.

^you have to extend the game though. and I was wondering why the back came out of the backfield unharrassed.

and pittsburgh breathes a huge sigh of relief

considering the lack of any rushing output and any solid defense by the Chargers, Rivers did a hell of a job trying to bring em back.

Well, at least Rivers' performance added a bit of humiliation to my fantasy opponent.

Won 160-55.

I like lil Sproles but the Chargers really need to spring for an every-down back in the offseason. Yeesh.

"Sorry...this has just been a disappointing week in sports for me."

Exactly what I was thinking last night. The Pack and my 2nd favorite team Georgia both lost heartbreakers, the Braves shitted the bed as badly as possible losing 6 straight to close season and blow any slim playoff hope by Tuesday, Rivers and the Chargers lose, plus my both of my fantasy fb teams sucked ass this week (thanks again Romo you bitchass, Flacco is starting next week).

At least my fantasy baseball teams finished out the season well.

As for the Chargers, the D better show up for the fucking Denver game because that Bronco D is looking stout so far. Dumervil for defensive POY right now.

I want this guy as HC of the Chargers next year.

He's already said this is just a year off, and he's coming back next year.

Norv can stay as OC if he wants.

[Edited on October 6, 2009 at 11:42 AM. Reason : The Panthers would also be acceptable, along with a young QB to develop]

Can't we find a sumo wrestler to play Nose Tackle until ? Just need a big guy to eat blockers so the others can make plays.

So if you've been watching ESPN today you know that AJ Smith is NOT HAPPY with the team so far, especially the defense.

Possible defensive shakeup coming during the bye week

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/08/san-diego-shake-up-could-be-coming/

Quote :
"The recent comments from Chargers G.M. A.J. Smith regarding the performance of the team he built weren't merely idle chatter.

Smith and the coaching staff apparently are serious about taking action on the fly to fix the problems that have plagued the team.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, Smith is "spending time on the phone" with other teams, possibly in the hopes of swinging one or more trades before the October 20 deadline. (And given linebacker Shawne Merriman's comments from Wednesday, his contract status, and the general vibrations coming from the organization suggesting that he won't be part of the team's future, Merriman possibly could be on the block.)

The Union-Tribune also reports that there's a feeling within the locker room that defensive jobs are "up for grabs." Defensive coordinator Ron Rivera reportedly sent that message to his troops earlier this week.<MORE>"

AndyMac, that's a great idea.

Gruden/Holmgren would be good and leave Turner as OC. Turner is a great OC but a terrible coach.

I actually think Gruden would be better because the defense is what is struggling. Either way, barring a good playoff showing I think Norv is out as coach.

^^ Pre filmed.

It's not new either, I've seen a picture of him sitting in that box before.

If it was up to the analysis crew they probably wouldn't say 1 thing about the chargers, too many donkeys on that team.

If you're going to call a run from the 2, at least use LT.

Dude's got a nose for the endzone.
