we went to a bowl game didn't we? It probably had a lot more to do with guys coming back from injury than motivation but it worked out just as well.

here's a letter Lee Fowler sent me:"These economic times have affected all our families and financial resources; please know that we are very sensitive to this issue and have attempted to reflect that in our pricing. Having you on our team and in the stands is imperative to our present and future success. With the added 8th game on our 2009 home slate we are anticipating a 6 game home schedule in 2010. With this information at hand, we have attempted to distribute the cost of this eighth game across the 2009 and 2010 seasons in an effort to keep the overall cost to your household down and be more consistent from year to yearGo Wolfpack!Lee Fowler "

4/2/2009 9:05:31 PM
And it begins.
4/2/2009 10:07:14 PM
what kind of injuries?
4/2/2009 10:10:47 PM
whatever was on packpride is vague. no clarification on AMC, Wallace has a 'cyst'.
4/2/2009 10:14:33 PM
^yes? And what's the deal with Bowens and Graham? Are they going to be ready for the season?
4/2/2009 10:15:49 PM
i thought the word on bowens was he might be ready mid-season because of the recent knee surgery
4/2/2009 10:26:29 PM
Heather Dinich (the same woman who wrote last summer that Kenan was a more intimidating atmosphere than C-F) might be my least favorite sportswriter.
4/3/2009 1:29:55 PM
i think that sit guys out for jammed fingers nowbest to have them in the spring

4/7/2009 8:44:00 PM
lmao, yes, we need an athletics director who does NOT sleep! (i'm on the fire bandwagon)
4/7/2009 9:14:47 PM
And Gamecock fans thought their stadium was loud wait until those bitches get a load of how loud we can get in Carter Finley!!! GO PACK!!
4/7/2009 10:06:08 PM
had a very vivid dream just a few hours ago and it was of this game. you can mark it down now, we will sack the Gamecocks on their first offensive play from scrimmage for a 9 yard loss. (crowd goes to 111dB level)
4/8/2009 8:29:52 AM
^NEVER FORGETIt will come true. Destiny and shit.
4/8/2009 10:20:58 AM
I'm sure we'll get good and loud for that game. I don't think we'll rival the Swamp or Between the Hedges but it should still be good. I'd say that we're a top 5 school in the ACC for most intense stadium atmospheres.
4/8/2009 12:54:54 PM
^ probably 4th?I'd say FSU and Clemson are definitely louder, VTech is probably louder than us, but not by as much. Maybe we tie them for 3rd?Can't think of any other ACC team really in the same loudness league as that top 4 though.
4/8/2009 1:19:34 PM
is that a cigar in lee's hand?
4/8/2009 1:25:48 PM
UNC has pine trees.
4/8/2009 1:25:52 PM
COME TO KENAN. EXPERIENCE THE ROAR OF THE PINE
4/8/2009 1:28:03 PM
^^^^I remember after we beat them in '04, there was a thread on their messageboard complaining about the way the VT ticket office put all the visiting state fans together and how we drowned their fans out. I don't know about drowning them out, but we were LOUD. I was surprised at how loud we were, being one of the few state fans who were not in the big block of state fans. I can't wait to go up there again this year.
4/8/2009 1:33:23 PM
i've been to a FSU game. trying to be objective as possible, i don't think they were any louder than us.granted, they were playing a horrible UVA team...[Edited on April 8, 2009 at 1:42 PM. Reason : a]

Ranking the ACC football stadiums http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=103654This article is pretty weak, ranking us at #8. We're definitely top 5 material. After FSU, Clemson, and VT, we'd def rival Miami for 4th, although the Dolphin stadium should alter some things now.
4/8/2009 1:44:35 PM
^ that article was written in 2006. I'm pretty sure those rankings have changed.
4/8/2009 1:50:20 PM
^ that article is pretty weak. really, keeping CF full is our problem? well, maybe for rain games against south florida with a 3rd-string QB, but generally we fill CF up without a problem...

Someone photoshop Baker and Eugene's heads onto theirs. "SHAKE AND BAKE!"[Edited on April 8, 2009 at 7:41 PM. Reason : hmm...why didn't that one work]
4/8/2009 7:39:52 PM
yea Miami isn't holding a candle to Carter Finley. Doak Campbell can get rockin'... it holds ~23k more people than Carter Finley. Plus it looks like a freaking castle!
4/8/2009 10:01:40 PM
1-3) CU, FSU, VT in any order. I personally believe CU is the loudest, VT is the most consistently loud, and FSU just has the best overall atmosphere out of the three, with the Warchant going and how into it the crowd usually is. Their student section is pretty large.then a little bit down4) NCSU I remember during an ESPN U broadcast last year the announcers were talking about how many of the players around the league think that C-F is one of the toughest venues in the ACC b/c of how much the fans are into it. It should get even better as the TOB era continues on. then way down5-12) everyone else
4/8/2009 10:11:20 PM
It's easy for FSU to get loud since everybody can go "ooooOOOooHOHHOHH" youg et it, but some people at the CF don't really cheer. We still get loud at certain points but I'd have to say when FSU was coming back against us in 2005, I looked around in awe and it was damn loud. But all they were doing was the chop.

Georgia spring game on espn at 1 today
4/11/2009 10:49:11 AM
Scrimmage stats via PP. We either have an amazing passing game or a horrible secondary. I think more the former.OFFENSEPASSINGRussell Wilson (half a scrimmage; not injury-related): 9-of-11, 78 yardsMike Glennon: 16-of-19, 143 yards, 1 touchdownRUSHINGToney Baker: 8 carries, 19 yardsJames Washington: 8 carries, 15 yardsRECEIVINGToney Baker: 6 catches, 68 yardsJay Smith: 4 catches, 37 yardsKICKINGJosh Czajkowski: 3 FGs made (52, 43, 23)DEFENSEAudie Cole: 8 tackles, 1 sack for 9 yardsNate Irving: 5 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss
4/11/2009 2:36:38 PM
Some thoughts on the stats:-We have some serious talent at QB. A combined 26-30 for 221 yards. Hot damn-Our kicker kicked a 50+ yard FG in a live situation. That's encouraging.-I hope Baker can contribute this year, but we really need Eugene back. Our running game is struggling to say the least (although this could be because our front 7 is going to be strong this year).-I think our Secondary will drastically improve with time. Seems like they're still struggling with the zone concepts. We've got to find a reliable S, CB, and Nickel to play alongside Morgan and Johnson.Damn I'm ready for some football.
4/11/2009 2:42:56 PM
Since russell wilson only played half the scrimmage, does anyone know who the alternate QB was?
4/11/2009 8:24:48 PM
Hurry the fuck up September. Damn I've got a good feeling we're gonna be good, and I never hardly have that feeling regarding any NC State sports.
