The media repeatedly tried to get TOB to make excuses due to the injuries, but he didn't. He said yeah we've got injured guys, but that just means others have to step up. That's part of the game.

12/3/2008 10:57:34 PM
is it just because we dont have a winning record? i mean if a team can hop over another that has a better record then why stop at 7-4?
12/3/2008 11:13:02 PM

12/4/2008 1:11:21 PM
Shit I'll go to motown and help take down an undefeated squad...although a MAc team and still a bit untested, Ball State is probably one the best opponents (at least offenses) I have seen so far in the ACC bowl projections...not bad for a 6-6 team hoping for an at-large bid! Thoughts?
12/4/2008 1:35:19 PM
^^ I like how it says we went on a 4 game winning streak to end the season after changing QBs XD.
12/4/2008 1:46:11 PM
Has wake issued any statements about where it prefers to go? I doubt the Deacs want to play Navy again either....
12/4/2008 3:44:29 PM
wake doesn't really have a choice. If an ACC team turns down an ACC bowl then they cannot go to an at-large.
12/4/2008 4:05:31 PM
I have not read the whole thread so I have probably missed something. But it makes no damn sense how Clemson can go to an ACC bowl while we cant. In essence they only have 6 wins that count towards bowl elgibility, the same as us. So how does their extra win against some shit school help them get in an acc bowl if that same win cannot be counted for bowl eligibility. Does that make sense to ANYONE?
12/4/2008 4:29:51 PM
Apparently it makes sense to the NCAA, which is all that really matters.
12/4/2008 4:31:11 PM
6-6 = not a winning record6-5 = a winning recordThat is the only part that makes sense to me.I feel your frustration though.
12/4/2008 4:33:17 PM
Without the 7th win against another FCS School, they are 6-5, meaning they have a record >.500. We have six loses and a .500 record, therefore they are statistically higher than us.
12/4/2008 4:34:49 PM
well according to the rules, if they had lost to one of those FCS teams, technically they're still 6-5 because that game doesn't count, how much sense does that make?
12/4/2008 4:34:52 PM
Frustrating isn't it? III
12/4/2008 4:40:08 PM
They may count as 6-5 but they wouldn't be bowl eligible.edit: I'm pretty sure they'd actually only count as 5-5 or 5-6 since the whole point of having to get a 7th win was to count as a 6 win team in the eyes of the bowl people.[Edited on December 4, 2008 at 4:42 PM. Reason : edit]

I'm gonna be that asshole that that says "dot com" after everyone asks me how do I think we're gonna do in the Papajohns bowl
12/4/2008 4:42:37 PM
lol
12/4/2008 4:43:07 PM
^^^ they had to throw a game out somewherethe games that counted were 1 FCS win, 5 FBS wins...so what matters what happens with that other FCS game?say for example they lose to the citadel for some reason, they would've ended up 6-6, and bowl eligible... and according to the current standard, would be considered 6-5.I feel like if that were the situation they would be considered 6-6... but I thought the point of ruling out FCS games was not to give a team an advantage by scheduling them and padding their record. Obviously that with what happened to Clemson this year, they are still gaining an advantage by scheduling 2 FCS opponents.[Edited on December 4, 2008 at 8:00 PM. Reason : .]
