its ok i understand...if i were an idiot i woulda thought carson palmer was the 3rd in the league too
4/24/2009 2:45:19 PM
can you even name who he was passing to the year he was a Pro Bowl QB?
4/24/2009 2:45:50 PM
who watches the bengals besides idiots?^ocho cinco?]
4/24/2009 2:46:19 PM
4/24/2009 2:47:21 PM
^was phillip a top 3 QB last year?lol that he was passing to a criminal, head cases, and housh]
4/24/2009 2:48:25 PM
i would say he probably wascourse brady only played about 10 minutes last year, so everybody else automatically moves up one spot higher than they would be if brady was healthy
4/24/2009 2:49:12 PM
so you're saying that Phillip wasn't a top 2 QB last year?
4/24/2009 2:50:02 PM
whats carson palmer doing now anyways?
4/24/2009 2:51:06 PM
^^you asked if i thought he was a top 3 qb last year and i said yes i think he probably was^i dunno, i doubt all his ligament tears in his knee had anything to do with his statistical decline, it was probably something else...[Edited on April 24, 2009 at 2:51 PM. Reason : .]
4/24/2009 2:51:21 PM
^^hasn't he been hurt?^I'd argue the lack of a brady wasn't necessary to make him top 3]
4/24/2009 2:51:33 PM
exactly...
4/24/2009 2:52:11 PM
so the fact that Palmer led the NFL in passing touchdowns a few years ago makes you think only idiots regarded him as a top 3 QB that year...but when his numbers decline because of severe knee injuries, that somehow takes away from his multiple pro bowl appearances?
4/24/2009 2:57:17 PM
he's no phillip rivers
4/24/2009 2:57:57 PM
and 3 years ago, Rivers was no Carson Palmer
4/24/2009 2:58:17 PM
man it sucks not being a bandwagon fan cause even if your team is shitty you still have to pretend we are gonna win it all
4/24/2009 2:59:12 PM
thank god you're not polluting sports talk with your garbage
4/24/2009 2:59:46 PM
dude i'm a better fan than you
4/24/2009 3:00:43 PM
Wasn't Rivers a pro-bowler 3 years ago?
4/24/2009 3:00:46 PM
not sure, but Carson Palmer was MVP of the Pro Bowl 3 years ago
4/24/2009 3:07:56 PM
cuz they were too scared to let philip come in and dominate
4/24/2009 3:09:25 PM
Philip has made the Pro Bowl just as many times as Delhomme
4/24/2009 3:13:21 PM
which is pretty stupid considering he was the best QB in the NFL last year yet wasn't voted to the pro-bowl
4/24/2009 3:23:53 PM
I think he got snubbed by not making it last yearI guess he should've probably led his team to a better record than 8-8 if he wanted Pro Bowl consideration
4/24/2009 3:26:39 PM
TEAMS win games not players. If they had any other QB behind center they might have won 2 games if they were lucky. That defense was TERRIBLE. 4-5 times were they leading or tied in the final minutes only to have the defense turn into wet toliet paper. I mean I guess he could have manned up and played some LB or safety]
4/24/2009 3:31:56 PM
teams win games, not playersexcept that logic doesnt apply to jake and the pantherswhen the chargers lose, its because rivers played like an mvp and somebody else came up shortif the panthers lose because our defense gives up 34 points, its jake's fault
4/24/2009 3:33:41 PM
and you're such a Jake homer it's not funny. If the defense gives up <17 points and delhomme throws an INT in OT to make the panthers lose thats on him. If the defense allows the other team to drive 80 yards in less than a minute at the end of the game, that's on the defense. winning is a team event though, and you can only place wins on teams. losing can be traced to an individual sometimes, but winning can seldom be traced to an individual. if you throw 3-5 INTs and less than 3-5 TDs, you probably lost the game for your team. if you didn't throw a TD pass and you're a QB, you probably didn't win the game for your team.^SD would have easily won 4-5 more games if they could play defense in the final 3 minutes of the game. and indy's defense isn't that bad at all]

your rivers slobbing is still absurdeverybody here loves riversbut only a stupid homer would try to claim he was better than Bradyi'll bet Rivers himself would tell you that Brady is a better QBbut not youand if you can't even accept that Brady is a better QB than Rivers because of your undying NCSU homerism, why should anyone be able to convince you that Jake is a reliable and proven winner?[Edited on April 24, 2009 at 3:45 PM. 4/24/2009 3:44:49 PM
what makes brady better? what makes qbs that win more any better? ]
4/24/2009 3:45:51 PM
first and foremost, his MVP trophies and multiple Super Bowls...single season record for touchdowns, etchonestly though I'd prefer someone else tell you why Brady is better than Rivers, so you don't think its just me who feels that way]
4/24/2009 3:46:39 PM
wtf do super bowls have to do with being better? if anything it shows that he's had a lot of great players around him so he's had a lot of help.a QB can throw for 5 TDs every game and no INTs but if his defense gives up 6 a game he'll lose every game.and brady had a hell of a WR core around him the year he set that record, even TDs are a team event]
4/24/2009 3:48:02 PM
Interestingly enough, Phil and Brady have the same passer rating for their careers. But if you want to know why Brady is better here is a nice breakdown:http://www.nfl.com/players/tombrady/profile?id=BRA371156http://www.nfl.com/players/philiprivers/profile?id=RIV651634
4/24/2009 3:50:29 PM
like i said, i'd prefer someone else or multiple other someone else's explain why they think Brady is better than Rivers, cause you don't seem too receptive to my reasoningto me it seems like a no-brainer
4/24/2009 3:50:36 PM
And would have had 4 if said shitty receivers (yeah I'm looking at you crazy eyes) didn't suck in Indy.
4/24/2009 3:53:00 PM
he put up okay stats and thanks to a pretty good ground game and the best defense in the league...i can't even imagine how the baltimore ravens had the best team in the NFL like 7 years ago or whatever and won the super bowl with such a great qb... I mean he must have been great to win a super bowl... wait? wasn't that like trent dilfer or some other equally shitty qb?
4/24/2009 3:57:19 PM
holy shit this last page is just sad.
4/24/2009 4:11:58 PM
^^you bring up a pretty good ground game...you know, Rivers kind of has had the best running back in the NFL the last few years...and San Diego's defense was no joke 2 of the last 3 years...but keep making excuses and claiming Rivers is better than Brady
4/24/2009 4:16:11 PM
LT didn't do shit last year, and the OL had been terrible
4/24/2009 4:36:03 PM
LT sucked the 2 previous years too, right? Rivers had zero running game since joining the Chargers, right? If you really want to talk about a lack of a running game, just look at the Panthers from 2004 to 2007[Edited on April 24, 2009 at 4:44 PM. Reason : .]
4/24/2009 4:42:25 PM
I'm not talking about that shit dude, i'm talking about last year
4/24/2009 4:44:30 PM
of course you're not talking about that, because that destroys your entire argument that rivers has a shitty defense and running gameyou give Brady credit for a good running game, even though the Chargers have had the best running game in the NFL most of the time Rivers has been thereyou act like Rivers has no defense or run game, despite having a top 5 defense and running game 2 years ago and 3 years ago]
4/24/2009 4:45:08 PM
that's not the fucking point, 2 and 3 years ago the chargers had good records and rivers played well. last year they had a 8-8 record and we weren't even discussing 2-3 years ago. we were talking about the shitty defense they had LAST YEAR and the shitty running game they had LAST YEAR.
4/24/2009 4:48:08 PM
how bout when the Panthers running game consisted of Deshaun Foster, Nick Goings and Jamal Robertson, and we made it to the NFC Championship game? Oh right, we got their in spite of Jake
4/24/2009 4:50:27 PM
with a baller ass defense and steve smith being uncoverable. he didn't do anything amazing, and because of a good OL they still had good ground production. jake didn't exactly set the world on fire in the nfc championship game either.steve smith was literally wide open all the time, there's a difference between hitting the uncovered and hitting the open man that no one knows is open but phil]
4/24/2009 4:52:12 PM
Somebody has to get Steve Smith the balljust like last year, somebody had to get Randy Moss and Wes Welker the ball, yet I'm sure you think Matt Cassel is 10x better than Jake]
4/24/2009 4:53:42 PM
no cassel is another average qb
4/24/2009 4:57:21 PM
