Page 10 is on Day 19!
8/20/2009 1:08:34 AM
Sweet!Day 4 tomorrow.Day 2 was not a good day. That was when I had the epiphany that I wasn't getting enough carbs.
8/20/2009 6:42:14 AM
This was me after Yoga tonight:I sweat like no tomorrow during every workout

I remember the first time I did the Yoga DVD, it was just getting warm and our AC was on the fritz so it was like one of those "hot yoga" sessions, I was raining sweat. But on another note, I finished up my first cycle of my modified cardio(great results), so I'm looking to maybe try a classic or another cardio cycle but I've changed houses. Now I don't want to have my carpet or hardwood floors messed up, so I'm moving it to the garage. Any advice on the best place to get some mats? I saw some for like $20 at Wal-Mart but I heard Big Lots had some cheap mats.
8/20/2009 10:16:00 AM
I recommend trying big lots. After that, try Walmart.
8/20/2009 1:36:04 PM
go to the camping section in WalMartblue foam mats for like $5
8/20/2009 11:30:08 PM
how is the chest/tricep workout?.....its my first time doing that tmrw
8/20/2009 11:33:45 PM
I bought a Prana yoga mat at a yard sale last weekend for one dollar.I originally planned to cut it up and use it as a liner for my tool box. But I know these two pretty hot wimmenz who teach yoga and I'll probably see them at this part I'm going to tomorrow night. If they're trying to teach me some yoga I might give it a try. I am getting old, so I gotta start thinking about keeping my mobility and flexibility and shit.[Edited on August 21, 2009 at 12:02 AM. Reason : l]

^ Yoga is a great place to meet hot chicks.
8/21/2009 7:51:29 AM
^Not if you show up and look like how I look doing it right now. Maybe 12 weeks from now but I don't see a lot of hot chicks being impressed by the guy who can barely touch his toes and keeps falling over into them while sweating profusely during the warm-up.
8/21/2009 10:04:49 AM
lol
8/21/2009 10:07:50 AM
^^You always have to start somewhere. I wouldn't sweat it (no pun, promise)
8/21/2009 10:08:42 AM
I often find myself doing the Tree pose to Extended Hand-To-Big-Toe pose to Lord of the Dance pose combo at parties when I've been drinking. There are a few girls who are always like "Do your leg trick" when they see me. The girls I know who teach yoga said it was pretty good for someone who has never done yoga, lol. This is where I got the names: http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/finder/browse_categories/standing I stretch after working out and I do think I have great balance so I shouldn't be that bad as a beginner. I've pulled that combo standing on bar stools and handrails.
8/21/2009 11:14:37 AM
8/21/2009 11:29:03 AM
^no shit man. We look like complete idiots doing yoga. All the girls I know that do yoga are super-cereal about it, and would think we were just fucking up their classes (that shit is HARD)
8/21/2009 3:24:55 PM
my wife and I did the Yoga last night...she said she is never doing it againit was very difficult because of my inflexibility, but I liked it because I know it is going to helpthis morning when I woke up, though, I was stiff and sore in places I didn't think I could be

Week 2 - Day 1 - DONE!
8/25/2009 4:21:01 AM
It feels pretty good to get done with the first week eh?I started a 2 month running program a few days ago that I am supplementing with P90X workouts (mostly Plyo and Yoga). I am going to try to max out the PRT.... we'll see how that goes hehe.
8/25/2009 4:36:53 AM
Almost done with week 3. The Ab workout has gotten a lot easier, thankfully. To early to tell anything other then the workouts have gotten a bit easier but still a lot of struggle. Hoping to see some weight loss kick in soon as well.At the least it is decently fun for a lifting workout and they go by fast. I tend to do them late at night, not sure if that is better or worse then doing them in the morning.
8/26/2009 1:27:57 AM
it does feel good...last night I couldn't lift my arms over my head at workunfortunately, when I woke up today, the cold that my son gave me a few days ago hit me like a ton of bricks...and today was going to be Plyoso I'll have to skip today (that is, postpone it) and get back into it as soon as I'm betterbums me out a little
8/26/2009 1:38:19 AM
8/26/2009 3:55:53 AM
stretching had nothing to do with it...it was fatigue...
8/26/2009 4:16:50 AM
8/26/2009 1:50:56 PM
it's a full on fever/cough/sore throat/sore all over (P90X contributing)/sinus headache COLDbums me out, too...really wanted to not miss any days
8/26/2009 3:30:31 PM
plyometrics is no joke!
8/26/2009 7:20:07 PM
^^Yeah if you have any hint of a fever, take your rest That sucks man! I hope you feel better soon, so you can get back on it! Don't rush back into the workout, you should take a good 4-5 days AFTER you feel better before you start back to give your body time to recover.
8/26/2009 8:25:02 PM
Just finished another Yoga round. Some of it I don't even bother I just laugh at the thought of my body bending that way. I've also added the supplement into the routine. Not sure if it will help, but I told myself if I made it this far I'd go ahead and add it in. Next week is the first recovery phase, not gonna lie I'd probably rather do the regular phase then 2 yogas.. and not sure what core synergistics is but doesn't sound fun.
8/28/2009 12:33:38 AM
^Core synergistics is a great workout, def. one of my favorite in the set. Much...much better than yoga, haha.
8/28/2009 12:45:46 AM
Awesome, very glad to hear that.
8/28/2009 1:46:57 AM
okay...back pushing play...I'm counting today as week 2, day 2...I really really REALLY do not like plyo at all...
9/2/2009 3:50:10 AM
haha, burns like hell and you think your heart's gonna explodewhat's not to like
9/3/2009 12:15:07 AM
Here's after 5 months of strictly P90X and then a couple months of running/P90X mix.
9/5/2009 10:51:33 AM
damn, nice. should send that in. I need to start back up again..... i currently look almost identical to your 'before' picture
9/5/2009 11:11:25 AM
nice job man
9/5/2009 11:12:04 AM
wow feeble good job. the new you makes the old you look like a bitch :pim thinking about starting this up very soon.the faq recommends doing workouts in the evenings for better results, but i dont know if i can commit to that with my job (sales = mandatory happy hours and long dinners). thinking about doing morning workouts. any of you gone this route?luckily i have yoga class on wednesdays and that will fit well into the p90x regimen it sounds like. and i would recommend an actual yoga class to everyone, not only for the benefits of yoga and to make sure you do it, but because most people do poses incorrectly starting off and need an instructor's help.
9/23/2009 1:15:26 PM
Haha I feel like a major bitch looking back. I used to be fairly athletic in high school but being in the Navy and stuck on submarines is not good for physical fitness. To answer your question, I currently work shiftwork and I exercise at all different times.... morning, afternoons, middle of the night,,,,, doesn't matter. I think ideally you should work out right before you go to bed so your body can most efficiently repair itself, but the big picture is, this program is gonna work if you stick with it.I am thinking about ordering Beachbody's new "Insanity" set. Apparently the workouts are only about 30-40 minutes long, but from talking to other people (some of them fellow P90X-ers) they say it's the hardest workout they have ever done. Sounds like a new challenge to me.
9/24/2009 10:22:22 AM
9/24/2009 12:38:22 PM
Just started this, on day 3.I'm doing it at 6pm at night as soon as I get home from work but before dinner. This way I'm replenishing my energy right after I excercise, yet it allows 2-3 hours before I go to bed after dinner.
9/24/2009 1:04:08 PM
I think you may have misinterpreted "right before you go to bed" probably because I worded it poorly. If I can swing it, I will work out around 8:00 pm for about 1-1.5 hours. Then I will shower, have my recovery drink and a small snack, then go to bed around 10:00 or 10:30, so there's about 2 hours between when I finish and when I go to bed. I don't think (at least for me) it would even be possible to workout and go straight to bed. I just have too much adrenaline and I need a couple hours to wind down.
9/24/2009 3:03:15 PM
9/24/2009 5:07:44 PM
Yeah I definitely need to get my head and my heart into it. I don't think it's something I can "just do".
9/24/2009 7:03:24 PM
If any of you are interested in learning some basic yoga, I teach a free class on Thursdays. And I won't make you feel out of place
9/24/2009 8:51:22 PM
Does it happen to be in upstate New York? If so, I will definitely come.
9/24/2009 11:14:06 PM
sadly no
9/24/2009 11:33:42 PM
Well then wtf begonias??!!??Just kidding. I did order my Insanity DVD set today. This is gonna be brutal.[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 11:43 PM. Reason : .]
9/24/2009 11:41:57 PM
Did anyone on here just get the dvds and print out the calendar/etc from that FAQ website?
9/28/2009 11:39:19 AM
I think that's what everyone does.Update: I had to stop the program two weeks ago because I re-injured my back while doing Mason Twists. And I re-injured it BADLY (like, X-Rays, Chiropractor, PT, and couldn't take today's PFA badly).I'm feeling a lot better than I did a week ago, when I couldn't stand up straight or sneeze without a 9/10 pain level.PT today told me that upper leg and butt muscles were extremely tight and causing all of the pressure on my sciatic nerve on my right side.So I've got some major stretching to do.
9/29/2009 2:49:21 AM
I have a golf tourney thursdayis it a good idea to start this today/tomorrow or should i wait till after the tourney with soreness and weakness etc?
10/5/2009 7:48:29 PM
^^take more yoga and if you can somehow find a quality local thai massage therapist they really know how to help those areas (including hip openers).i just finished Day 1, followed by 2 miles on the treadmill.i had to pause like 20 times today, and i realized i can't do pullups for shit. i dont know if i can legitimately do a single wide front pull-up.also my diamond pushups are pathetic, as are my decline pushups if i'm doing them correctly.i feel pathetic and weak today, like i've got zero muscle to do some of these things. hope i'm not the only one! :p
