2/4/2009 5:49:09 PM
it's no secret what his excuse will be... his best player was off the field
2/4/2009 5:50:37 PM
Gosling was a youth teamer, wasn't he?ahahaha LOLverpool lostthey're fucked
2/4/2009 6:32:52 PM
Well that was depressing (liverpool fan). If Gerrard is out for an extended period, that would be a real problem. Lucas is a bum. Masch is totally defensive. Alonso is more of a deep lying playmaker / pulls the strings (and hes out for the next league game due to yellows). Im guessing Yossi will start in the hole where Gerrard has been playing the past month? Maybe Kuyt will and Yossi will go out right? Either way, this is a major problem as Torres doesnt have 100% fitness and we have a huge problem scoring anyways. Ugh.
2/4/2009 9:48:45 PM
and again, Lucas does more than any other player to lose the game for Liverpoolgood thing we just got rid of Robbie Keane...we have no need for depth now that Gerrard is out for an extended period of time on the plus side, our next four Premier League fixtures are Portsmouth, Man City, Middlesborough and Sunderland...that could be a lot worse[Edited on February 4, 2009 at 11:55 PM. where does everyone watch these games?
2/5/2009 1:30:12 AM
''The turning point of the game was the second yellow card for Lucas, I was not happy, but I do not want to say anything about the referee.'' - Benitezi was hoping he would..haha, theres nothing he can say about the ref it was a clear yellow and sending off.^ http://www.worldtvpc.com/live/

There is so much gold in this article I'm not even going to try copying and pasting it all: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/article2206464.eceBut the headline: "Arshavin: I'd ban women from driving and smoking"

OMG What a game Portsmouth vs. Liverpool. To sum up: no scoring in first half. In the second half, Benayoun makes a brilliant run down the right, beating two defenders, passes to Kuyt, who slices it across the face of goal. Babel fails to make contact with the ball from about three yards out, and an empty net in front of him. I mean he flat-out misses the ball. Pompey score a minute later. 1-0. Liverpool tie it up on an Aurelio free kick; 1-1. Pompey take the lead again in the 77th on a header from Hreidarsson off a free kick; rare mistake by Pepe Reina. 2-1. But Liverpool keep pressing, and in the 84th, good ole Dirk Kuyt gets a pass from Torres in the area, in cramped quarters, dribbles around one defender and slams it home. 2-2. Naturally Liverpool shift into high gear, and in the 92nd, Aurelio crosses it in perfectly to Torres, who's standing about four yard from goal and doesn't even have to move. Hard header, 2-3. I seriously question the lineup that Benitez started (three center-backs, Ngog up front, no Kuyt, no Alonso, no Torres.) The squad won that game, not the coach. But I'm too fucking happy to care. That seriously might end up being the best game of the 2008-09 Premier League season.
2/7/2009 2:53:55 PM
lol, benitez started 6 defenders. what the fuck is he thinking, portsmouth aren't that good. and he started ngog? that guy could bearly crack the lineup last year at psg, now benitez thinks hes good enough to start for pool. how he is still their coach, i do not know
2/7/2009 2:58:37 PM
2/7/2009 3:40:06 PM
just a note for the Kuyt haters, ANOTHER huge goal from him that is overshadowed by the Torres winner... like him or not, he scores some pretty important goalsGerrard going down means curtains for Liverpool but as least it's not over.. yet

Giggs puts United up 1-0[Edited on February 8, 2009 at 12:32 PM. Reason : (and I just bought the United 3rd kit with his name on it)]
2/8/2009 12:31:55 PM
just watched the game. United back on top, w00t!vintage Giggs, best player in EPL history...im watching the highlights of the weekend right now and i swear, its like david james wanted liverpool to win it in the last 5-10 minutes...oh and tony adams, gone after next loss..might as well axe him now and try to get someone to save the season...
2/8/2009 8:50:00 PM
He is gone
2/8/2009 8:51:40 PM
havent checked the news yet, just got done with the game..and yeah, it says reports are he is gone, as if it wasnt obvious. portsmouth have blown pretty much all season
2/8/2009 8:54:20 PM
Pompey didn't blow when ol' 'arry were thereI saw a headline last week: "Harry Redknapp: First manager to have 2 teams go down in a season?"
2/8/2009 9:26:35 PM
well he certainly disrupted this team and put them in disarray when he left...ive never liked redknapp, he just looks sketchy all the time.
2/8/2009 9:52:54 PM
I thought I saw that the free kick by Aurelio for Liverpool was in the box. I did I see correctly, if so, how can you have a free kick inside the box that isn't a PK?
2/8/2009 11:02:10 PM
^ James handled a back pass.
2/9/2009 12:57:34 AM
AHAHAHAHAHAHAChelski sack Scolari. Avram Grant is back on the shortlist....if i were grant id come back just to piss on abromavich then leave.
2/9/2009 12:07:33 PM
wowthis league is out of control
2/9/2009 12:14:18 PM
i think i saw somewhere that Benitez will be sacked too if he doesnt win the EPL this year...That would be the worst thing ever for 'pool if they get rid of him...I cant imagine Torres wanting to stay, if he leaves you have 0 strikers and a new coach to come in and try to find some i guess
2/9/2009 12:17:37 PM
^espn soccernet had that over the weekendthey are also reporting that scolari is gonehttp://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=617598&sec=england&cc=3888[Edited on February 9, 2009 at 12:33 PM. Reason : link]

I hope whoever they bring in is prepared to be sacked after not producing the quadruple.
2/9/2009 12:40:30 PM
ahahaAmbromavic has lost the fucking plot
2/9/2009 6:23:11 PM
I've decided that I want Liverpool to hire Mourinho.
2/9/2009 10:10:51 PM
So here's the rumor:Ancelotti to Chelsea, and Rijkaard to Milanhow big of a cock-up would that be?Milan could kiss any chance of winning Serie A goodbye with Frank at the helm
2/9/2009 10:51:22 PM
if the timing is right, i would not be surprised at all if mourinho came back to the epl and went to man utd...i have a feeling its either him or Martin O'neill that will take the place of Fergie when he finally does decide to retire.
2/9/2009 10:54:20 PM
it'd be sweet if roy keane took SAFs place eventually too, but martin oneill might be abetter coach[Edited on February 10, 2009 at 5:55 AM. Reason : whoops]
2/10/2009 5:54:58 AM
Keano, Steve Bruce, and Mark Hughes are all on the shortlist to take over at Old Trafford once SAF leaves, but here's my takeKeano hurt himself by quitting Sunderland too early and not working since. He'd be a better fit as an SPL manager. If Strachan leaves Celtic, it's Keano's job to lose.Steve Bruce is probably the most solid choice. He's well-versed in the PL. He knows how to make smart signings and how to get the most out of who he's got.Mark Hughes was the clear favorite until he took the City job. Now he's a pariah to the red half of Manchester, and chances are the arabs will sack him at first opportunity. I don't know where he'll find a job, but he should have stayed at Blackburn a year or two longer and gone anywhere else but City.I love the idea of Mourinho at United - and honestly I think he does too, but in the long run I don't know if it would be the right fit.and if Dave Lerner knows anything (which he seems to), he wouldn't let Martin O'Neill go for any price.[Edited on February 10, 2009 at 7:39 AM. Reason : .]
2/10/2009 7:38:16 AM
agreed, hopefully martin oneill will eventually take over as the england manager, hes the best choice in my opinion
2/10/2009 8:47:03 AM
i dont want to see keane or hughes as united manager...maybe bruce but im not 100% sold on him yet...i cant see man utd hiring anyone but a big name after ferguson leaves, and keane, bruce, and hughes are not big names in managing right now...watching the Brazil v Italy friendly and wow to robinho's goal just now. awesome display of dribbling skills...and Pirlo looks awful out there for Italy[Edited on February 10, 2009 at 3:19 PM. Well the thought has always been that it will be a United old boy to take the helm once SAF leaves. The Glazers have struck up an uneasy truce with the lifelongs and that's due mainly to SAF staying on and him being the one with the real final say in who takes over after him. It's why FC United never really took off, except for a few hardcore anti-yanks, and even those are coming back into the fold.I think SAF knows that as much of a base United has built world-wide, he has to appeal to the core that's been there for years, ultimately. If a "big" manager is brought in - one who would change the system - there's a good chance the results won't come and the core contingent of fans wont be happy (not to mention SAF himself).SAF has spent the better part of 30 years building United into what it is today. I hate to use this simile, but he's the Dean Smith of their shit. Actually, I think I should say that Dean Smith is the Alex Ferguson of Carolina, but I digress.Ultimately, they're the ones who dictate the course of their clubs, and they're not going to let some pissant with a giant ego come in and destroy what they took so long to build. Ferguson much moreso than Dean Smith.
2/10/2009 9:44:24 PM
I think O'Neill is the best choice for replacement. But Quieroz should not be overlooked as a replacement for SAF, especially because of his relationship with Ronaldo.

well once we beat Mexico 2-0 in Columbus tonight, Sven will back in the EPL
2/11/2009 10:19:22 AM
confirmed that Hiddink will take over the rest of the season...this seems stupid to me. This means the chelski players will at the beginning of next season when i assume theyll have another coach, will have played 4 different systems in just under 2 years...
2/11/2009 1:19:21 PM
yeah if it is just for the rest of the season, why not just promote somone from within.
2/11/2009 2:02:41 PM
