you do realize those are message boards right? there is no credible information posted on them with the exception of maybe two posters. the rest just make shit up and people like you go and spead it around like its factual. the people who post on them have no relationship with the players whatsoever. pretty sure costner isn't running around telling people grants boning his girl and I'm sure grant wouldn't run around claiming to cheat on his wife of 3 months in a state where you can sue for alienation of affection. statefansnation is the biggest joke of all the blogs.

The fact that Clemson is more of a basketball powerhouse than us makes me want to cry.We are seriously losing basketball recruits to Clemson.....Case and Sloan are rolling over in their graves.

sfn is garbage.

i heard rick barnes and john calipari were responsible for our lack of chemistrybarnes nailed costner's girl while calipari and lee fowler watched; all this went down in sylvia's pizza after contract negotiations. costner walked in on them when he came in to order a xxl pizza for breakfast. INSIDE INFORMATION.

boozie, I'm not saying SLOW ball didn't win us games before. I made an effort not to take a shot at herb in that post because it wasn't warranted. I'm saying that Lowe is coaching players that were recruited for a different system. No matter how you slice that, its not a good situation. Yes, Lowe can be criticized for recruiting Javi instead of Warren, losing chris wright, etc, but who is to say Warren even comes here? I'm not convinced it was a done deal that if we offer he comes. My problem with the whole situation is that 2 years ago, Lowe was given god status by some of you people for that run he made. He was praised as a great "in game" coach for making adjustments, calling good timeouts, drawing plays that worked. Are you guys telling me that in a half of a season he became a dumbass? No. He's had one bad season that was plagued with injuries to key players (apparently costner too) and no depth. I'm willing to give him a pass for last season to see how he can recruit and coach a full basketball team that signed up to play for him. Lets not forget that every other good coach, and a few bad ones turned us down. And the WVU comparison with huggins is bullshit. They had talent in place with Nichols and Alexander being stars. Plus huggins is a piece of crap, and I wouldnt trade lowe for that slimeball if lowe went 0-35 for the next 10 years straight.*edit* Might want to add that he's recruited 2 5* players, has a third that I feel is 95 percent, and has state in the top 3 for the #1 and #3 players in the country....regardless of position. (depending on which site) -not bad for a guy that sucks. [Edited on June 18, 2008 at 11:47 AM. Reason : ]

I agree with most of that....especially the WVU situation. They had been making the S16 and E8 so that was not a surprise. Also I wouldn't count these recruits yet until they are here on campus. If we do like I expect this year (14-18) or so then I am not sure we will land ANY of them.

SFN is annoying as hell now. They used to actually talk about actual sports but lately all they do is whine about the state of our athletic department and how terrible our AD is, it's annoying, they make us all look like crybabies. Maybe it's a good portrayal of our fans though...Everything is "wow! we won a baseball game in the postseason!" then they take a shot at Lee Fowler and make a "facilities" joke, it's tired and lame at this point.

Ask Dave Odom about how much good winning the NIT does for your program
6/19/2008 1:07:21 PM
way to completely miss the point
6/19/2008 1:08:41 PM
no I got the point, but I don't agree with it...the NIT doesn't mean shit and is certainly not evidence that they were a good program, historically teams that win the NIT one year are not very successful the next
6/19/2008 1:11:56 PM
wasn't WVU considered one of the biggest NCAA Tourney snubs the year they won the NIT?wolfAApack don't forget that Johnny Thomas should be joining the team sometime around November or December according to most reports. if anything he'll give us depth at the SF position and maybe provide a rebounding spark for us off the bench. I really hope he comes back at full strength b/c he supposedly can jump out of the gym. Perhaps a redshirt year will be a good thing for him in the end. What exactly was his injury? I thought I heard it was some kind of osteochondral defect.
6/19/2008 1:23:56 PM
Some sort of microfracture in the cartilage in his knee I believe. Same surgery that Amare Stoudemire had.
6/19/2008 1:28:58 PM
So probably something like this, a small lesion on the articular cartilage.http://www.orthspec.com/cartilage_sports_injuries.htmI have to go to knee surgeries every now and then to collect tissue to take back to the lab so that I can culture cells. But those are usually total knee replacements. I've seen some pretty fucked up knee joints. Like some people will have areas the size of a half dollar on the medial side of their tibia where the cartilage has been worn away all the way down to the bone. Then some will have a flap of cartilage barely hanging on to their femoral condyles.

Lowe thinks he will go somewhere between the 10th and 20th pickhttp://www.charlotte.com/300/story/677908.html
6/20/2008 10:17:08 AM
they haven't said what kind of knee injury he has. He's been out of basketball for a year now and he's not even past the "light running" portion of his rehab. He may not make it back until 2009 if he makes it back at all. I'm not counting on him contributing until at least next year. Whatever it was it was a terrible injury. Makes you wonder if he didn't have some kind of structural defect before the injury.
6/20/2008 10:20:41 AM
It only takes one team to like a guy but there is no way Hickson goes in the top 15 IMO.I think he's a borderline 1st rounder. If I had to guess I'd say he goes ~26th.Ultimately, its tough to tell anyone not to go if they project as a first rounder. In Hickson's case though I think he was a lottery pick with just one more year. Hard to ever say for sure but I think the consensus is that Hickson needed one more year.Unless he's gotten a promise from someone at the end of the first round then this could be a very big mistake for him.
6/20/2008 10:42:54 AM
^That's what I originally thought, but he keeps getting projected higher and higher. Maybe he's having some killer workouts.
6/20/2008 10:52:57 AM
I just looked at the draft order and saw the Spurs are 26th. Can't see them taking someone so raw with their window.24th to the Sonics or 28th to the Grizzlies seem likely.Could also see the Hornets or Pistons taking a shot at the end of the round.
6/20/2008 10:59:02 AM
I take half of my post back. ESPN.com had him going higher in their first mock draft, but now they have him going 28th to the Grizzlies where they say he is a "steal". CNNSI.com has him going 18th to the Wizards.
6/20/2008 11:07:05 AM
the article I posted said Sid originally heard between 20-30th pick but now he's hearing 10th-20th...I'm guessing that means he's had some great workouts and might go around ~20th
6/20/2008 11:24:34 AM
I think he has potential and he's drawing comparisons to Al Harrington as a guy who can take big guys outside and small guys inside. He has amazing footwork in the post for a young guy but he is clueless when the defense collapses on him.He can be a shot blocker/rebounder but I'm not sure he's old or mature enough to bang anytime soon.I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's a 15-18 mpg guy 3 years from now but I'd be downright shocked if he is better than Leon Powe within the next three years. He's got a steep learning curve, I think one more year in college would benefit his development more than a year on the pine.
6/20/2008 2:20:05 PM

wat?

^^ plz to explain this fantasy
6/25/2008 12:56:54 PM
good luck tonight JJ
6/26/2008 9:21:27 AM
I hope he gets drafted high. Hopefully top 20. It can only increase our chances in landing Favors. Think about it, GT's Gani Lawal and JJ were about even coming out of high school. Lawal has to stay in school, while Hickson is projected to go late teens to early 20s in the first round. Hopefully Favors sees this. I know he commented on how much he saw JJ improve over the year compared to when he was in high school.
6/26/2008 9:31:57 AM
hickson will definitely go top 20. i've even seen mock drafts with him going as high as 11.
6/26/2008 9:32:48 AM
hope JJ gets drafted to a good teamand actually PLAY.. so he could represent NCSU. we haven't had any NCSU alumni(Hodge, Simmons, Grundy, Powell) playing much in NBA.
6/26/2008 9:35:51 AM
^JJ won't be much better than any of those for two years....maybe after that.
6/26/2008 7:52:06 PM
I wonder if Charlotte could pick up JJ with the 20th pick. It might help them get rid of Sean May's fat unproductive ass.
6/26/2008 8:11:19 PM
it's lookin like JJ might slip to the second round, there's a lot of big guys left that will probably go before him
6/26/2008 9:05:44 PM
haha what, he wont fall to the second round
