i never had a printer and neither did any of my roommates, ever

there were TONS of times that i had to print some shit off for the next day and didn't feel like fucking with it the next morning.

and college kids go out at every hour of the day/night. wednesday night at 130 is not odd for any of those activities.

People are just trying to seem like they care more than they do. Because it seems that if one acts like they don't care, they get called "insensitive" or whatever. And so they have to make a big deal out of it.
It's not "pussified" to show a little concern, or wear a ribbon in someone's memory. And these facebook/myspace pages are probably from people who knew her.

I think people actually do care. Maybe they can empathize because they know lots of young folks who seem to have bright futures. Maybe Eve reminds them of their own friends or family and they imagine what it would be like to lose their loved one. Maybe they know her personally. For whatever reason, I think most people genuinely care.

You can criticize their reasons, but I do think most of the uproar over cases such as this comes from genuine concern.

I wasn't criticizing those who really do care. This entire incident made me sad, but that doesn't mean everyone is pussified.

I just saw the video of the suspect being taken in on CNN. He had blood on his face and I'm sure that Durham SWAT (I forget what they call their version) fucked him up pretty good in the course of arrest.
