Doubles was 1st-5th.
10/5/2008 10:55:19 PM
i wasnt impressed by the super doubles. kmart is overpriced to begin with.
10/5/2008 11:48:18 PM
I LOVED it. Just got to look for the right stuff and have lots of coupons.I walked out of super K with $50+ of stuff for about $5 twice, other times got it down to $8 and $17 (from around $50), not too bad for groceries.
10/6/2008 12:21:49 AM
well the freaking cashier screwed us over. i had coupons for everything in that transaction, but some didnt go through because when he scanned the nutri-grain one, a window popped up on his screen but he kept scanning. then he noticed the window and selected the product or whatever, but didn't rescan the coupons. i didnt want to say anything, but the total was much much higher than it should have been.how often does kmart do this?
10/6/2008 9:21:57 AM
according to slickdeals.net its going to happen again on the 15thwent three times this weekend... first time got 25$ for 12$second with my mom and she bought me a shitton of stuff for my new apt.. 125$ for 53$ forgot a 5$ off a 50$ coupon tooand then the third i went last night just to see what else i could find.. and a display box had maybeline mascara 1$ off coupons on a tearpad ... so i got 5 different mascaras for .99 eachand three eyeliners for .74 each

the official thread of people i hated when i worked in a grocery storeI'm walls1441 and i approved this message.
10/6/2008 9:30:42 AM
^ ha i always apologize and the cashiers typically say why .. id do it too if i had the time
10/6/2008 9:31:51 AM
^^^i'll go back on the 15th then and coupon like crazy to make up for it, haha.^^and don't hate -- we're just trying to save money [Edited on October 6, 2008 at 9:35 AM. Reason : ^]
10/6/2008 9:34:53 AM
it wasn't the coupons, it was the bitching when one of them wouldn't scan correctly.big deal its like 30 cents and the rest of them still worked.I'm walls1441 and i approved this message.
10/6/2008 9:55:09 AM
one coupon won't scan, not too big a deal. But then the cashier gets lazy and won't try to make the others scan, and at that point they are gonna make me mad so best to just not let them slack.
10/6/2008 10:16:59 AM
one guy bitched because i put in the wrong kind of potatoes. He thought they were supposed to be like $1.00/lb so i went to go check the price and thanks to his bitching they ended up the more expensive $1.25/lb. bitch.I'm walls1441 and i approved this message.

the wife and I were behind this lady at kmart on western a couple days ago when the doubles was going on. Honest to god she got over $250 worth of stuff and paid only $1.02. We were like WTF!??!. ended up running into her in the parking lot and chatting for a bit.. she is a huge coupon person and has been doing it for years. Said they would have paid her like $10 if the cashier would have done it right but she wasnt going to argue because apparently when you coupon like that you dont want to bring attention to yourself b/c managers get irritated or something[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 1:10 PM. Reason : she was nice and said she stocks up like whoa for her family and donates the rest to foodbank]
10/6/2008 1:09:52 PM
i would love to be able to do that, but my full time job gets in the way
10/6/2008 1:42:46 PM
so where do you get all these coupons to be able to get these kinds of dealsdo you just get a bunch of the same coupons and use them over and over on the same item?
10/6/2008 2:35:25 PM
you usually can't use multiple coupons on the same item. the big deals come when places double or triple their coupons and you match your coupons to sale items.for example, at CVS right now they're running a sale where if you buy specific Colgate products you get them for $2.99 but you get $2 extra care bucks which you can use toward any future purchase which means really you're getting it for $0.99, and you can find colgate coupons for anywhere from $0.50 off to $1.00 off. also, CVS is running a special on herbal essences shampoo and conditioner for $2.88, i have a $2 off coupon, so i'll get a bottle of shampoo for $0.88
10/6/2008 3:01:27 PM
I buy 4 to 6 papers a week.Usually pays for itself. There was a $1 celestial seasonings coupon this week. I drink a LOT of tea and would buy it anyway, so that makes the rest of the paper only 50 cents. Use one more coupon and it's worth it.
10/6/2008 3:57:37 PM
^i saw that and didnt think they sold those anywhere. thats what i tend to think about a lot of things when i'm clipping coupons...either that they aren't sold anywhere or they're too expensive to begin with so even after using coupons it's still not a deal.
10/6/2008 4:01:23 PM
i've seen them sold at harris teeter, but i don't drink a lot of tea.. so meh..
10/6/2008 4:07:13 PM
The teeter puts them on sale often enough I'm sure I'll get them 2/$4 or BOGO before the coupon expires. $1 a box is great for premium herbal teas.If anyone likes Campbell's soup, I have 5 of that whole insert (possibly minus the V8 soup coupon) available.
10/6/2008 4:49:06 PM
^^^,^^^^ i doubled that dollar off coupon for the tea at kmart and got my friend a box of tea for .79 which wasnt bad.
10/6/2008 4:59:08 PM
That's my plan if the K has the flavors I like and doubles again, if not I'll pay a couple cents more for it at the teeter on sale.Think I am gonna order some coupons on ebay for it, I go through 2 to 4 cups a day in the winter. just 2 bags a day ends up being 3 boxes a month.
10/6/2008 5:05:28 PM
you guys know coupons are a scam to get you to buy shit you didn't need in the first place right?I'm walls1441 and i approved this message.
10/6/2008 5:54:45 PM
I only buy shit I don't need if it's free.
10/6/2008 6:30:01 PM
not when you buy that stuff before you start using coupons... and why does it matter if you can get the item for free?[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 6:31 PM. Reason : you might have a friend that would like it, even if you won't ever use it.]
10/6/2008 6:31:12 PM
Yup, it's nice to give people stuff you got for free. I'm sending a guy a flat rate box of stuff in exchange for some motorcycle boots. All he'll tell me is that he's not picky and wants some cinnamon toothpaste, hope he likes it.
10/6/2008 6:41:07 PM
Haven't seen it posted.....Lowes is doing triples Oct. 8th-10th.
10/6/2008 7:37:43 PM
I teach foods and nutrition so I usually only use the coupons if the off brand is more expensive than the item with coupons. It's also fun for me. If I go to CVS, I earn ECB and use those to buy things I need.
10/6/2008 9:18:02 PM
^^is it restricted to 99cents or what?
10/7/2008 7:00:45 AM
10/7/2008 7:40:35 AM
yeah i really want to know because i'm going home over fall break so that means i can shop for my family using triple coupons...i know they double them every day like harris teeter does but i dont know what the restrictions on their tripling are..
10/7/2008 8:19:03 AM
I believe Lowes Foods triples up to $.99
10/7/2008 9:35:06 AM

Apparently according to corporate HQ those are the Kmarts participating in Super Doubles starting 10/15.

Nice job...I plan on hitting up Lowe's Food later today and donating some of the free stuff to a food driveWhere do you guys get multiple coupon inserts? It's been suggested that you can check the recycle bins at your apt complex, but they seem to clean them out frequently so there's never any newspapers in there when I check. I don't really feel like dumpster diving at Kangaroo on Monday morning either. Is there a practical way to get a hold of some of the unsold Sunday papers?
10/8/2008 10:26:27 AM
^ There's a McDonald's near me that usually has two copies of the Sunday paper. I just go in there and take the coupon books
10/8/2008 11:04:31 AM

10/9/2008 1:46:18 PM
I use my ECBs to buy newspapers. burned some on cocoa pebbles (25% more free boxes and BOGO) as well. I have never found the CVS beauty book coupons here, so I traded for some and when I get those I'll be burning more on a bunch of essence of beauty stuff. I'm going to be cutting back on CVSing and some on couponing in general now that I've got enough stuff to last me a while.
10/9/2008 3:31:58 PM
pwnt, well sort of
10/9/2008 6:28:22 PM

People Think Coupon Users Are Cheapskates, Unless You're Hot
10/13/2008 11:26:49 AM
i guess it's a good thing that i don't give a fuck what the people in the line think of me. i'll cut my grocery bill in half with my coupons, and they can all suck my dick.oh - BI-LO has KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce on sale 2/$3 and there are some coupons online for $0.75 off, if your Bi-Lo doubles then you get free bbq sauce... fyi[Edited on October 13, 2008 at 12:30 PM.
