On expert? Kudos. Shit is making me very very mad

ahaha, I was wondering how much of an advantage people that actually play guitar would have based on simple timing/strumming and fingers being a little stronger in a guitar position... Expecially curious to see people play their own songs and see how they would fair... makes me feel better about being 1/40 on hard so far...

I was stoked to see a jack black song on GH3... it was like seing Rancid on GH2... I think I like the GH2 songlist a little better though... (I'm probably way late for this discussion...)

i didn't agree at first, but now I think I do. especially since some of them don't work. particularly the Star Mania (activate star power 3 times on through the fire and flames on expert) achievement.

I've only been able to gold star 10 of the expert career songs (need 20 for the achievement)
Don't have anyone to play the coop careers with.

Basically all the achievements I have came from beating and 5*-ing all of hard and expert.

for some damn reason i can't beat any bosses on medium

I skipped tom morelo, slash, and now i'm at the satan/lou guy.

when it says "death drain" i'm dead right? or can i fight my way out of it somehow? I feel like i do a decent job and attack him just as much as he attacks me.. we both go into the end green, normally me a few ticks greater, but then he goes onto solo for a minute while i sit there and die.

Are you saving your attacks for when he is in a solo? A double note attack can be disastrous in a solo.

Yeah, the death drain is basically the end of the song, you didnt beat him in time.

I also find that timing my attacks to mess them up so they cant get the attacks to hit me with works wonders. Dont just attack as soon as you get the ability to.

My general rule is, I hold my attack until i see his attack notes coming, or until i have another string of attack notes coming and i have to use mine. (The double attack)

beat co-op on medium last night, we five starred everything but the last tier....would have been a lot of gold stars except for the fact he kept fucking up the bass/rhythm parts

gotta get it rolling on hard now

I rented this from blockbuster and played with my basic old 360 controller... I had zero problems beating the career mode first run through everything on easy. Is it harder with the guitar??? When I played on Xbox Live I got these fucking kids getting 99-100% everytime I played and they were using guitar and said it was easier. I'm debating buying the GH III package

I can get 100% on most of the mediums, but I also never did any of the tutorials, until the GHIII demo came out. I never realized you didn't have to strum if a note was higher than the first note in a series... that would make a lot of the hard songs easier than I originally thought... trying to strum every single note.

I don't want to read through 10 pages, so I'll just ask:

I played this game on a Hi-def TV on playstation 2 this past weekend and it seemed to lag. We tried to sync it but it didn't make a difference for me.

To get to the point, has anyone played multiple versions that can tell me how it compares on xbox 360 to PS2?
(But maybe, it is that I was drinking and it has been awhile.)

I first started sitting down, but as things got harder I started standing up and now I just cannot do as well sitting down. I feel like your arm is more restricted and the way I hold it sitting can lead to me accidentally activating star power.

Is anybody else having trouble playing with other players online with the PS3? I can't play online battle/faceoff/co-ops to save my life, it keeps telling me 'failure to connect' or something like that even though it has no problem showing me all the games available.

I always play standing up, it's more fun that way. Occasionally I just like to go crazy and jump around and stuff. I miss half the notes but it's really fun.

I started career on hard, and now I can't beat the second-to-last set (live from japan), so I can't unlock the last set. Errg, I might just have to play through on medium just to hear these songs.

Dear TtFaF Diary,
Passed you a lot last night on Hard. Still learning to tap your intro on Expert... passed your intro once out of about 200 attempts, failed the rest of you a few minutes later. Please be a bit easier, and let me get four stars on Hard next time.
Your friend,
DJ

You have to get your power stance, only way to play. I almost ripped my jeans whilst power stancing drunk.

Power stance ftw, especially since you can keep making the notes while doing it, and if you time it with a star power at the right part of the song...........oh hell yeah

sometimes i try to do the jump thing where you land again at the start of a rock section but that doesnt work quite as well

Just to see what ya'll were talking about... I played TtFaF in practice mode on expert (I'm a medium level player...) I got 48% of the notes right... I think thats mostly b/c I could double strum the 32nd notes perfectly... and if you just smash the buttons randomly your pretty sure to get at least a few in the shot... My G/F just laughed in amusement at the rediculousness of it...
