^^lol i don't think you can get 250k on hard even if you hit every note without star power.
11/4/2007 4:46:56 AM
got a PS2 and GHIII yesterday. my first GH experience evar. I'm rocking through a career now on medium. its pretty damn hard for me. hah i can't imagine hard or expert my brother and his gf came over w/ another guitar and we did some battles and a co-op career. pretty damn fun.
11/4/2007 11:28:38 AM
..scott ian on GH http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlnP-LJBzUc
11/4/2007 12:35:33 PM
ahaha, I was wondering how much of an advantage people that actually play guitar would have based on simple timing/strumming and fingers being a little stronger in a guitar position... Expecially curious to see people play their own songs and see how they would fair... makes me feel better about being 1/40 on hard so far...
11/4/2007 1:37:07 PM
can't remember where I saw it but Jack Black did an interview while playing guitar hero. He was rocking the shit out of it.
11/4/2007 1:47:47 PM
I was stoked to see a jack black song on GH3... it was like seing Rancid on GH2... I think I like the GH2 songlist a little better though... (I'm probably way late for this discussion...)

for some damn reason i can't beat any bosses on medium I skipped tom morelo, slash, and now i'm at the satan/lou guy. when it says "death drain" i'm dead right? or can i fight my way out of it somehow? I feel like i do a decent job and attack him just as much as he attacks me.. we both go into the end green, normally me a few ticks greater, but then he goes onto solo for a minute while i sit there and die.
11/5/2007 1:50:54 PM
Are you saving your attacks for when he is in a solo? A double note attack can be disastrous in a solo.
11/5/2007 2:27:58 PM
Yeah, the death drain is basically the end of the song, you didnt beat him in time.I also find that timing my attacks to mess them up so they cant get the attacks to hit me with works wonders. Dont just attack as soon as you get the ability to.My general rule is, I hold my attack until i see his attack notes coming, or until i have another string of attack notes coming and i have to use mine. (The double attack)
11/5/2007 2:54:49 PM
beat co-op on medium last night, we five starred everything but the last tier....would have been a lot of gold stars except for the fact he kept fucking up the bass/rhythm partsgotta get it rolling on hard now
11/5/2007 3:23:28 PM
So where can you get a second guitar for the Wii version?
11/5/2007 4:06:42 PM
^They aren't selling them yet. The only way is to buy another game/guitar bundle
11/5/2007 5:09:59 PM
i was wondering when south park would finally do a guitar hero show
11/5/2007 5:23:11 PM
I typically play sitting down, but all the videos online, the people are standing up... do most of you play standing up? Do you think it makes a difference?
11/5/2007 5:29:46 PM
I cant play sitting downI just got my ass handed to me by lou on medium sighany date on when stand alone guitars will be available for wii? I cant find anything
11/5/2007 5:37:39 PM
^^i play better sitting down.
11/5/2007 5:56:06 PM
I bet you pee better that way too just kidding... I couldn't help myself
11/5/2007 6:21:32 PM
I rented this from blockbuster and played with my basic old 360 controller... I had zero problems beating the career mode first run through everything on easy. Is it harder with the guitar??? When I played on Xbox Live I got these fucking kids getting 99-100% everytime I played and they were using guitar and said it was easier. I'm debating buying the GH III package
11/5/2007 6:24:52 PM
easy is easy on any controller probably
11/5/2007 6:26:05 PM
easy is pretty much a joke once you start the medium onesI can't believe I ever found them challenging
11/5/2007 6:29:14 PM
EDIT: Sorry I meant I found it really easy and was playing on MEDIUM Yet people here complain about not being able to beat the bosses... but people I play online can get 100% on Medium.
11/5/2007 7:03:16 PM
at my current level i am disappointed when i dont 100% the mediumsyet Tier 7 on hard is owning my ass[Edited on November 5, 2007 at 7:17 PM. Reason : ]
11/5/2007 7:16:59 PM
11/5/2007 7:33:01 PM
I can get 100% on the medium songs too.and most of the hard.and some of the expert ones too.
11/5/2007 7:36:52 PM
I can get 100% on most of the mediums, but I also never did any of the tutorials, until the GHIII demo came out. I never realized you didn't have to strum if a note was higher than the first note in a series... that would make a lot of the hard songs easier than I originally thought... trying to strum every single note.
11/5/2007 7:56:35 PM
i cant do hammer-ons and shit, so if i ever do its by mistakeevery note FT
11/5/2007 8:01:09 PM
I don't want to read through 10 pages, so I'll just ask:I played this game on a Hi-def TV on playstation 2 this past weekend and it seemed to lag. We tried to sync it but it didn't make a difference for me.To get to the point, has anyone played multiple versions that can tell me how it compares on xbox 360 to PS2?(But maybe, it is that I was drinking and it has been awhile.)
11/5/2007 8:25:11 PM
i had to run the calibration for the ps2 for gh2 and the 360 for gh3seems about 81 ms is right
11/5/2007 8:30:52 PM
11/5/2007 9:30:42 PM
when you do the calibration, do you strum to the beeps or to the visual alignment of the targets? my tv isnt synched quite right either
11/5/2007 9:58:20 PM
and now I'm stuck on one on expert. Being this close and not being able to finish blows. Like 3 minutes into the song there is a retarded solo, >.<
11/5/2007 10:00:04 PM
Is anybody else having trouble playing with other players online with the PS3? I can't play online battle/faceoff/co-ops to save my life, it keeps telling me 'failure to connect' or something like that even though it has no problem showing me all the games available.
11/5/2007 10:13:14 PM
i play best either standing (but dont prefer to) or sitting on a stool with my left leg bent up on the coffee table
11/5/2007 10:13:35 PM
this wireless guitar is messing up baddddd. do you have to recalibrate it every once in a while or something?
11/5/2007 11:33:29 PM
I've only played standing up. I've tried sitting down and playing but I can't get comfortable.
11/5/2007 11:50:56 PM
I always play standing up, it's more fun that way. Occasionally I just like to go crazy and jump around and stuff. I miss half the notes but it's really fun.
11/6/2007 11:21:24 AM
I started career on hard, and now I can't beat the second-to-last set (live from japan), so I can't unlock the last set. Errg, I might just have to play through on medium just to hear these songs.
11/6/2007 11:26:41 AM
i played an online battle over the wii online play, it's cool, but the connection dropped after our 2nd song, at least got to play a couple though while it lasted.
11/6/2007 11:38:26 AM
Dear TtFaF Diary,Passed you a lot last night on Hard. Still learning to tap your intro on Expert... passed your intro once out of about 200 attempts, failed the rest of you a few minutes later. Please be a bit easier, and let me get four stars on Hard next time.Your friend,DJ
11/6/2007 1:32:07 PM
^ Beat One for me so I can see it's awesomeness >.<
11/6/2007 4:01:25 PM
11/6/2007 4:44:46 PM
Just to see what ya'll were talking about... I played TtFaF in practice mode on expert (I'm a medium level player...) I got 48% of the notes right... I think thats mostly b/c I could double strum the 32nd notes perfectly... and if you just smash the buttons randomly your pretty sure to get at least a few in the shot... My G/F just laughed in amusement at the rediculousness of it...
11/6/2007 9:01:19 PM
seriously. my dumb ass still can't beat tom morello or lou on medium. slash was easy though. wtf.so now i'm just stuck
11/6/2007 9:04:09 PM
beat tom morello, yay!
