okay well someguy emailed me the link and I now finally have the APP. it is AWESOME! Now when I cache channels, how does this work for example when I am on a ship out in the middle of the caribbean? Please explain.
2/4/2009 11:31:56 PM
AFAIK it downloads the content of that channel to your SD card, so that when you do not have service you can still use playback with that channel.
2/5/2009 6:07:30 PM

I was running BES and I had to end up wiping my phone afterward. (it was freezing up after the upgrade) and reactivate BES. It looks like everything is working now. I have been texting pictures around all morning just to try it out. Incoming pictures still appear as picture mail. I got a text from Sprint a few weeks ago saying my picture mail account was due to be deleted in 30 days so I am wondering if that means they are going to start delivering pictures as MMS as well. That sure would be nice. Picture mail was great back in 2003, but I kind of feel like it has outlived its usefulness. It seems like the industry has adopted MMS as the standard.
2/7/2009 9:40:07 AM
just now updating to 4.5 from 4.3, maybe thats why google maps wouldnt install, we'll see in a bit when it finishes the upgradeshould just help in general too, i dont know why i didnt look into upgrading the OS sooner
2/7/2009 11:39:07 AM
well the maps part works but Lattitude takes up my entire memory and slows my phone to a halt so i'm not gonna use that
2/7/2009 7:23:51 PM
has anyone else noticed that post upgrade the screen takes WAY longer to light up when you press a button. I guess that is just gonna take some getting used to but its wierd.
2/8/2009 10:08:14 AM
okay again I am the dumbass. I tried going ot this post and click that download link an my phone told me it was too large. How can I get 4.5 so I can finally get MMS? Let me know asap. Thanks!
2/10/2009 1:21:53 AM
^^Mine isn't doing that.^You can't update to 4.5 OTA. You have to d/l to your desktop and install using BB desktop
2/10/2009 6:57:56 AM
Work connection is too slow but I'm going to download this when I get home. Thanks! Can anyone tell me how to uninstall myspace off of the Curve? It came preloaded and it's just taking up screen space.

BES question for yall:I added a couple users remotely to the BES Server (already had accounts on the exchange server)I sent test messages, which the Blackberries received. They sent test messages from their BlackBerry which I was able to receive. However, they can't reply to emails they receive. One guy has the Reply option, but always gets the Red X. The other guy doesn't even have a reply option. Has anyone heard about this? I've had issues where Blackberries will receive but can't send at all, but I've never seen a case where they can send new messages, but can't reply to existing messages.Any ideas?]
2/11/2009 3:38:20 PM
It happened to my old blackbery one time. ^Eventually I FUBAR'D that one trying to fix it. The it guy said to wipe the device and re-activate BES, that worked but it crapped again a couple of days later.
2/11/2009 11:14:40 PM
I was thinking about ditching my BES service for google sync mobile, and google outlook sync.I was wondering if anyone had tried this setup and could provide reviews. I am mainly concerned with dependability. Exchange with BES is pretty dependable, it is also costing me money and I cannot justify the expense anymore.
2/11/2009 11:56:11 PM
Yeah I'm thinking I need to back up the BBs, wipe them, then restore...should stay activated if I just re-send the IT Policy right? PIN numbers are still tied into the BES server
2/12/2009 12:41:15 AM
http://www.download.com/8301-2007_4-10071456-12.htmlflycast for the win for local channels in Raleigh and Charlotte!!!
2/13/2009 2:20:21 AM
btw i got the problem resolved like i thought (not being able to reply to emails after a BB is configured on multiple BES servers)1. backup blackberry database2. go to options, security options, general settings, wipe blackberry3. enter 'blackberry' to wipe handheld (i left 3rd party apps installed where applicable)4. restore database to blackberry5. re-send IT policy from BES server6. profit
2/13/2009 12:26:01 PM
okay so I am trying to cache slacker channels for my phone before I go on my vacation. It let me cache channels then when network is off it isn't working, then all of a sudden tonight it did for a few. Then I went back and it said you must have a media card to cache and won't let me but I have a media card. How do I get this stuff saved so I can have it ready to play on my trip? thanks
2/20/2009 2:10:16 AM
?
2/22/2009 5:07:21 PM
Do any of you use Rhapsody with your Blackberrys and if so, how does it work/how do you like it?
2/22/2009 5:30:42 PM
BES is the worst. I really really fucking wish I could get Exchange Push for domino because I hate this fucking software. I installed a new instance of BES because our email/notes domain is moving from one thing to another. Because I didn't want to move the users over without testing, I tried to get my BB and my bosses BB activated. It worked about 30% of the time. So I'm getting all mad because its the same version of BES as the old server, the domino version is different but its supported. So I build a new server and put the same version of domino on. Still doesn't fucking activate. So this shit is driving me up the wall. I go to re-validate the SRP key (which worked during installation) and it tells me its invalid. I look up the error and it says the key is fucking disabled because I used it on 2 installs of BES. Well fuck you faggots. That would be nice to metion in your fucking documentation somewhere. So now i have to wait for our retarded AT&T rep (who we now have because our good AT&T rep got promoted) to call RIM so they can call me. Fuck this bullshit software and fuck RIMs bullshit support.

3/2/2009 1:08:41 PM
How do I get PacMan on my 8830. My buddy has a pearl and downloaded that shit, but I can't figure it out. It won't let me do it from the phone, can I do it through my Mac?
3/2/2009 10:14:53 PM
the new OS is supposedly due out the middle of this month.
3/2/2009 10:15:57 PM
If anybody has a Sprint BlackBerry and uses BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and you've recently gotten kicked off BES and don't know why and have done handheld wipes, apparently Sprint has recently changed their plans to require a separate BES plan ($20/month) in order to access BES. Call Sprint and add the new BES provisioning to your phone and you should be good to go.Dude said they have gotten calls over the last couple months and this is pretty much the problem.

Should I get storm or no?
3/26/2009 6:48:49 PM
I'm gonna try one out when alltel switches to verizon - if they'll let me bitch my way into one.
3/26/2009 6:52:13 PM
I've had mine for a little over a month and wouldn't trade it. It takes a little time to adjust but it's not bad. Out of the box, the .75 OS isn't that bad but the beta .113 I'm using now has less memory leak, full qwerty in portrait mode, and places a box around text when you're editing it. Definitely a lot more responsive. Verizon is supposed to release an official OS update but who knows when that's coming. Just go play with it at one of the verizon stores and see how you like it. Most likely it'll be a little laggy and won't click as well as a new one. If you decide to get one, order it online between Friday and Monday for free activation.

Is there a way to disconnect my BB from a BES without wiping it?
4/23/2009 4:12:44 PM
I do it all the time:http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Remove_IT_Policy
4/23/2009 5:01:51 PM
should have checked thread again before wiping
4/23/2009 5:31:24 PM
I ended up doing full backup, wipe, full restore, & sending the service books again from BIS. Now I am back rolling w/out BES. I am tired of paying for it and cannot justify the expense at the moment.
