tell the band to play the "hey baby" like lsu. pretty cool, plus i wouldnt mind seein our dance team do them moves
8/1/2007 11:55:29 AM
what person in particular are you talking to that you think is going to tell the band anything, let along to copy off another school.

State's band has been playing "Hey Baby" for the past couple of years now. Now we definitely weren't the first to play the song at a sporting event. I remember going to minor-league hockey and baseball games as a kid and hearing it played in the stadium. It's a classic, that pretty much everyone knows. PSU also plays "Hey Baby" and they actually get the whole stadium singing it, not just the student section.I do like the way LSU plays it though, with that "i want to know-oho" addition to the words.[Edited on August 1, 2007 at 4:04 PM. ^now that actually sounds like a good idea. atleast seems like they are willing to work with us.good stuff
8/1/2007 6:13:24 PM
i bet that a fair amount of people will not want a WITH sticker. Now what they should do is hand out WITH koozies. I mean think about it, it's a hot Sept. gameday, and you either drink your beer fast b/c it can't stay cold for long and end up really drunk, or you have to just suffer through warm beer, so that you won't be completely hammered. A koozie is where it's at, people will want those and use them to keep their beer cold. Also people would keep them in their car. They will just put it in the car trunk and not think much about it as they head to the stadium, then the next game when they forget to bring a koozie again, they'll just use the WITH koozie that's still in the trunk. Soon it'll just be their main koozie, and if the koozie is red it will show school spirit.
8/1/2007 6:28:31 PM
8/1/2007 6:40:20 PM
agreed about koozie's.
8/1/2007 7:32:18 PM
yea i like the idea of having students and alumni help keep things under controll. This way some of the small things can be better avoided and more importantly go unknown to the administration which will make us look better. and the koozie idea is much better
8/1/2007 7:35:23 PM
there's no way they would go with the koozie idea because I'm surprised they haven't already tried to ban alcohol. The amount of cans and bottles littering the fairgrounds lot after a game is fucking ridiculous.
8/1/2007 8:27:11 PM
That's it, koozies it is. I say we start campaining for koozies over stickers. Maybe have a march on Oblinger's office (obviously joking, but emailing the person doing the WITH program could actually work) I mean koozies are incredibly cheap, even ones with stuff printed on them. The cheapest ones are the collapsible and foam ones. Plus I know I am more willing to listen to what someone has to say if they are handing stuff out to me that I could use. Maybe we can have a gopack.com poll for what the volunteers should hand out. KOOZIES! KOOZIES! KOOZIES! ^they've handed out koozies before. I got a free one at a basketball game that looks like a NC State basketball jersey. it's good for longnecks, but not cans. the collapsible ones and the foam ones would be even cheaper. the free one I got had the RBC Centura logo on the back, so they could easily cover most of the cost by having one of the sponsors of NC State Football contribute some funds. it'd be a win-win situation, where fans are happy b/c they got something useful, there wouldn't be a bunch of WITH stickers littering the tailgate lots, and the sponsor gets more advertising.[Edited on August 1, 2007 at 8:36 PM. ^^thats why eliminating kegs was idiotic. people are going to drink however much they want either way, kegs were just a lot easier to clean up after.
8/1/2007 8:34:51 PM
Koozies are a great idea! I'm also surprised they haven't tried to outlaw alcohol yet. That doesn't really worry me though, I can see that effort being as effective as it is at Alltel Pavillion parking lots
8/1/2007 9:06:35 PM
^^I know people who drink about 150% of what they normally drink when a keg is around. Its just to easy.
8/1/2007 9:45:53 PM
opening a can is easier than waiting in line for the keg
8/1/2007 10:52:18 PM
Is it just me or does this With program sound like the worst idea ever? Does anyone think they will actually have an impact on people?
8/1/2007 10:58:08 PM
uhh haven't they already been doing this?
8/1/2007 11:03:47 PM
Its amazing how much some redneck wrestling catch phrase has had on NC State fans... or is it? [Edited on August 1, 2007 at 11:18 PM. Reason : k]

We have the 3rd worst losing streak in the nation behind Duke and Florida International.

Koozies are a great idea. They are pretty much the only handouts I don't immediately throw away, and would continue to advertise the message week after week. Also, some of you could stand to bag up your trash before you leave your tailgates. It's not bad to have consolidated bags of trash on the ground, but it would be nice if crap wasn't strewn everywhere...especially if you are tailgating with glass. It really doesn't take that much effort.
8/2/2007 8:37:02 AM
chuck amato had the worst losing streaki like tob's streak of 7 consecutive bowl wins
8/2/2007 2:00:40 PM
^ word.
8/3/2007 12:28:07 AM
imo, worry about things like winning conference games, or winning the conference.not winning the car care bowl.
8/3/2007 12:52:23 AM
dude, i'm just worried about having a good line to supplant our running game, as well as a quarterback who can step up and know what the fuck he's doing. lets win some fucking games people

D line should be a larger concern to you than O line this year. The D line was dominated in the spring game.

Tom O'Brien's radio show will be at Damon's this year. You People in Raleigh need to get out there and show him the support he has and why we are the best fans in the state.
8/3/2007 11:57:34 PM
^^^That was also without Pressley, the best lineman, playing in the spring game. Our oline needs work, lets not kid ourselves, that has been the weakness for 3 years now. I blame our terrible olines for our QB play. Davis, Stone, Evans have NEVER had any time to throw the damn ball. And with Jerrail's possible legal trouble, the oline looks even worse now.
8/4/2007 12:12:13 AM
w00t! I just got my BC tickets in the mail! Hopefully Tom O'Brien is able to smack around his former team and give a figurative one finger salute to them by blowing them out (I know probably not going to happen, but one can dream). Section X Row 13 Seats 28-29. BC Roll CallBrass Monkey

NC STATE vs. UCF"The UCF knights are 1-10 since 1996 in road openers & the only win was in '98. UCF is 0-8 all-time vs. current ACC teams, being outscored on average 37-17.""This will be the schools' 1st meeting & O'Brien has never faced UCF at BC either. The Wolfpack is 24-6 in regular season non-conference games."this announcement is brought to you by...Phil Steele's 2007 College Football Preview, and the $8.95 that i will never get back
8/5/2007 2:52:52 PM
So who do you think starts at QB for us against UCF? Do you think that player will be the starter for the entire year?
8/5/2007 9:52:13 PM
ha, the same topic on both State football threadsI guess Beck though. He has the cannon and athletic ability that Evans lacks. But like someone said before, he needs to improve his accuracy a lot.
8/5/2007 9:58:08 PM
Yeah, I'm thinking Beck.Who knows, though? Is it bad that I'm already anxious for basketball season? (not because I'm worried about the football team, but because our b-ball team should be freakin' awesome)[Edited on August 5, 2007 at 10:03 PM. Reason : ]

How did Central Florida get Texas to come play in Orlando? After UCF plays state in Raleigh on September 1st, they somehow get the Longhorns at home two weeks later.I'm assuming it may have something to do with trying to recruit in Florida and not wanting to play a game at Doak Campbell, The Orange Bowl or The Swamp. But it still seems weird...its like ECU getting Michigan to come play in Greenville.
8/5/2007 11:59:01 PM
Yeah, I'm sure Texas views it as a recruiting trip. Notre Dame recently agreed to play a home game in the Citrus Bowl.
8/6/2007 2:02:06 AM
Does an almost sure road win like that help out their BCS rating instead of them just hosting UCF? Like you know how a road win in college basketball over a team in the RPI top 150 weighs more than a win over a team of that same caliber at home. That could be one reason, besides recruiting in Florida, why they would schedule such a game. If they are one of the final teams in the BCS National Championship hunt, that might be the one thing that could give them the extra push in the computer rankings to put them in the BCS National Championship game, even though the computer rankings don't mean quite as much as they did a few years ago.
