I don't know how it is possible, but this new Ralliart looks way cooler and hotter than the new Evo.235 hp!I would so get this one if I could.http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080114.010/mitsubishi-lancer-ralliart-unveiled-at-detroit
1/19/2008 7:33:39 AM
i doubt it will handle like the Evo, thoughalthough I'd WAAAAAY rather have a IX, anyway.[Edited on January 19, 2008 at 11:39 AM. Reason : and I'm selling my IX, if that tells you anything about my opinion on the X.]
1/19/2008 11:39:22 AM
what are you going for now, duke?
1/19/2008 2:41:32 PM
Hopefully a sports car this time.
1/19/2008 3:00:45 PM
nigro might as well buy an escort of a civic.he buys all these hyped up cars and just sells them. doesnt do much.
1/19/2008 3:05:59 PM
^along with half of TWW garage lol
1/19/2008 3:11:58 PM
exactly
1/19/2008 3:13:34 PM
did y'all see the post at the bottom of the previous page? it is about a new mitsu 2-door concept based loosely based on the lancer. hotness!
1/19/2008 3:35:50 PM
that is hot! probably will never see the light of day. Looks like an eclipse replacement
1/19/2008 4:20:42 PM
wtf is that? a reborn gallant?
1/19/2008 6:10:36 PM
1/19/2008 7:27:11 PM
^^, ^^^All sources point to it being the future Eclipse And now some more news... A LANCER HATCH!!!Official: Mitsubishi Prototype-S in Geneva
1/29/2008 5:16:45 AM
Do they have any idea how ugly the cars they make are?I do like the new lancer but that hatch....well.....even subaru knew just to copy mazda. The eclipse, dont even get me started. Hands down the ugliest coupe available.
1/29/2008 7:51:05 AM
Are you blindThe new scubby doesn't remotely resemble a Mazda 3 outside the egg shape that all hatches share. And all new mitsubishi's are hideous.
1/29/2008 9:54:37 AM
I hope the concept RA is at least "facially" indicative of the next eclipse.-some version of that shape, since its way less heavy-handed than the current model-diesel engine that meets CA emissions (200/310 is a nice target!)-2 seats rather than 2+2 (I think there's room for the eclipse to be smaller now, what with all the roadsters and 350z that would be competition) and will make the possibility of it being usefully smaller and lighter more likely-dual clutch trans-4wd-I like that the design seems to have prioritized elimination of erroneous components (there's a video on Automotive News of a conversation with the designer, who points out that eliminating the hood and insulation allowed a lower hoodline and weight reduction. I don't expect that to be an idea that works for production, but the whole "elimination of components" and "conservative content rather than exotic materials" is something I expect out of mazda, not mitsubishi. It's refreshing. I'm rooting for them. The headlamps are pure fantasy though. too small and too low.

Got a ride to the shop (an hour from my house) from my buddy in his brand new Z06 vette...picked up my IX from Clutch Doctors. You'd think that one of the "Best Backed Cars In America" would've gotten fixed at the dealership with only 22k miles (hell, a couple of shops I called were dumbfounded and asked "Why don't you just take it to the dealer and get it fixed under warranty?).$1099.80 (would've been about $1200, but the manager discounted the sales tax)old clutch looked pretty beat up from what I could see with light from my cell phone...when i get a new laptop, i might post pics of my handiwork.Awesome driving car (although it's being basically a $15k car with a $20k drivetrain and suspension), but I can't imagine buying another Mitsu unless it was no longer under warranty and I got an absolute giveaway price on it.
1/30/2008 7:01:22 PM
these speculations are pointlessMitsu will likely be out of the US market, possibly within 5 years. They don't make cars that anyone wants, especially now that the new Evo is slow. All their basic cars are uglier and less reliable than the competition.
1/30/2008 7:25:39 PM
good. fuck 'em.bunch of broke-ass ugly car-making, warranty denying, Evo pussy-fying, annoying commercial having motherfuckers.
1/30/2008 7:29:29 PM
Do what IX owners seem to be doing in droves, duke.Twin Turbo I6 glory.
1/30/2008 10:40:51 PM
yeah, sweet ride for sure.my roommate is about to buy one (or possibly a G37 or C6 vette, but almost certainly a 335i coupe).i think i'm gonna go back to my smaller, pure sports car roots for the time being (or MAYBE a C5 vette) and get something less expensive to boot, since i'll be spending so much time deployed in the next couple of years.of course, all bets are off once i rotate back to another non-deploying job with all of that deployment and combat pay socked away...I'm thinking either M3 or Lotus (although we all know that I can change my mind 10 times in a month, much less 3 years).
1/30/2008 11:45:31 PM
You're going to be back in an s2000. You miss the 150 ft/lbs and we all know it .[Edited on January 31, 2008 at 8:19 AM. Reason : .]
1/31/2008 8:15:12 AM
I have a serious boner for the e90 M3. SERIOUS. I do wish there was an option for a fast, light, and much cheaper true sports car (with more then 5lbs of torque, sorry quinn).I'm kind of hoping the 1 series tii will fill that gap, but who knows.135i weighs in at 3500~lbs which I think is more then silly.
1/31/2008 10:57:11 AM
sound a lot like methe vette makes great numbers, but it feels like a freight train compared to an S2000 or Evo...it lacks that snappy, agile, mongoose-reflex "feel".I had high hopes for the 135i, too, but after finding out about the final product, I don't see any reason to get it over a 335i.
1/31/2008 2:16:30 PM
There really isn't any.120~lbs weight savings is nothing.
1/31/2008 3:15:18 PM
1/31/2008 6:29:06 PM
^i think he said cheaper.
1/31/2008 7:08:50 PM
ok well I hate to be the bearer(sp) of bad news but torque = weight.[Edited on February 1, 2008 at 6:30 PM. Reason : .]
2/1/2008 6:28:43 PM
yep.i really don't give a shit about torque.i mean, it's nice...i enjoyed it in my 330ci and in the 'vettes I've driven...but it's not ultimately that big of a deal to me.
2/1/2008 6:34:29 PM
An m3 isn't a sports car?Are you retarded?
2/1/2008 7:05:02 PM
technically, sports car should have 2 seats only...
2/1/2008 7:33:17 PM
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CAR MAGZLAWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
2/1/2008 10:55:35 PM
a small, high-powered automobile with long, low lines, usually seating two persons.http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/sports%20carI mean, having a back seat and having a usable back seat are two different yet equally insurance scamming things.signed - Porsche

2/2/2008 2:58:46 PM
Sedan?Ps- Its not the same chassis as the 4 door.
2/2/2008 4:06:44 PM
yeah, sedan... 2 door or 4 door.[Edited on February 2, 2008 at 4:19 PM. Reason : 2+2 sports car /= 4 seater 2 door sedan]
2/2/2008 4:17:35 PM
Yea you're right.I think the terminology for sports car needs to be updated when a majority of the worlds sports cars are being outperformed by 2 ton sedans.
2/2/2008 7:03:53 PM
Speed doesnt have anything to do with it.
2/2/2008 9:12:29 PM
^^not really, things haven't changed that much.^truth. look at all the early british roadsters, etc. for example. most people consider them to be the driving force or "essence" of what became the mainstream sports car segment. even by the standards of those days, power was nothing exceptional. many larger and less performance oriented cars (particularly large v8 domestics) could out perform them in some areas, especially speed/acceleration.what makes a sports car a sports car is that it's main purpose is to be sporty. everything else takes a back seat (pun intented). something like an m3 is certainly aimed at being sporty, but it's also supposed to provide luxury, comfort, and adequate seating/storage for 4 adults and their stuff.
2/3/2008 1:13:51 AM
2/3/2008 4:23:54 AM
f430 is technically a supercar or exotic i believe.by your logic, we'd have to start calling pontiac gto's, v8 versions of pony cars, and the latest generation of ford lightnings sports cars... using the existing guidelines, it keeps cars grouped much more accordingly. your point that maybe the names of the different segments should change is valid, but the criteria shouldn't.the m3 still has plenty of competition to deal with in it's current sport sedan/saloon class, why does it need to be a sports car also? the sedan part is simply designating the chassis/body style, the word sports is still there.
2/3/2008 5:03:26 AM
both of you have good points. although most definitions list sports as being a 2-seater, it is hard to argue this subject as you can list so many cars that may or may not give you a notion of a sports car. it's a moot point.

2/7/2008 8:00:12 AM
you're all ricer fags for not giving the 'vette enough respect.i'd take a C6 vette as a track car over anything mentioned in this thread w/o thinking twice.
2/7/2008 8:33:38 AM
