For me, the movie lacked heart. Nothing but explosions. First 1/3 was funny and almost warm, but then they started taking things too seriously and grim. The main 2 actresses' tits had more character development than any of the robots.Frankly i'm appalled at the amount of lauding for this movie, yet somehow Star Wars III was allegedly "trash."I liked it more than disliked it, but i found no joy in it.Shia Labeouf's gonna be awesome as Indiana Jones' son, though.

^^ see, I thought it had loads of heart and that is what I liked so much about it. I felt a very real, strong bond between Sam and Bubblebee (e.g., when they are tying Bubblebee up and Sam runs over to him to try to protect him); I felt a definite bond between Sam and Makeila (e.g., the scene where he says something like, "when you're 50 don't you want to be able to look back over your life and say you got in the car" and the music swells up); and I really felt like the Robots were living, breathing people, not just machines (e.g., the scene where they are trying to hide at Sam's house and the last scene where Optimus delivers his final monologue).

Bush joke was much worse. I laughed at the Bumble bee thing, the Bush thing, not so much, and I don't really like bush
7/12/2007 10:50:46 AM
the scene where they were hiding at the house made me feel like i was watching toy story or something.. (not to say toy story isnt an amazing movie but yea).and
7/12/2007 10:59:06 AM
I loved the part at Sam's house!! I thought it was hilarious when the parents looked out the window and all the Robots were trying (unsuccessfully) to hide themselves behind trees, on the roof, etc.
7/12/2007 11:42:23 AM
The house scene was a bit drawn-out, but it did a good job at emphasizing the extent to which the autobots cared for humans. The decepticons wouldn't have put up with that crap.
7/12/2007 12:30:47 PM
Barricade = best transformer in the movieI mean, Bumblebee was cool as a Camaro and all, but only when he was in the car state, and only after he was the concept version.Barricade was bad-ass the whole fucking time. Car state and stand-up.
7/14/2007 11:14:23 AM
John Turturro is awesome as always
7/14/2007 1:24:55 PM
He;s a good actor and all, but his character did not belong in the movie
7/14/2007 1:31:45 PM
this movie was fucking stupid.they knew that people would like it just for the nostalgia value and they were right, its crap
7/15/2007 2:18:37 AM
i think that most of the people raving about the movie weren't even alive to have nostalgia for the generation one cartoons
7/15/2007 3:52:04 AM
i have yet to hear a single one of my friends really complain about the movie...all of whom (save one or two) watched "g1" before it was g1...and the only negatives people have been able to come up with are nitpicky (besides the house scene, but let's be honest, if the entire world hadn't known of their existance in g1, they would have done the same exact scene and you all would have laughed at the cartoon for it)...
7/15/2007 11:58:45 AM
well obviously lots of different people have lots of different opinions, of all of my friends who have seen it only 1 or 2 liked it..and one of them likes just about any movie where something blows up so yea.overall the movie was mediocre (if that imo) with great cgi
7/15/2007 2:28:00 PM
Pretty much every random black person I have met in the past week and a half has loved this movie, including the wannabe drug dealers[Edited on July 15, 2007 at 2:41 PM. Reason : sdf]
7/15/2007 2:40:10 PM
it was horrible. It has some really weird scenes that seemed to be from a totally different movie, its like they had some dialog they wanted to put in but didnt know where to put it... like the weird police dude, reminded me of a ben stiller movie. Just tons of little nitpicky things, something tells me a fucking old school boom box/tape player wouldnt just be on Air Force 1, someone would have noticed. And the whole "hotwire the computer to send Morse code" was just stupid and some of the military response times were retardedly fast.

7/15/2007 3:32:14 PM
in most cases i dont completely dislike a movie because of nitpicky things..otherwise id never like hardly any movies.
7/15/2007 3:37:22 PM
The movie was GREAT, which is why I saw it twice!! Great storyline, awesome plot..and mind blowing special effects!!
7/15/2007 4:59:19 PM
^^^ yeah, but these nitpicky things could have easily been fixed or done another way... they werent backed into a corner where they had to do it a certain way, they were just lazy
7/15/2007 5:06:15 PM
^^ to each his own, i for one at least know i wont be putting any money into the sequels.
7/15/2007 5:08:51 PM
"Then we were betrayed by the Decepticons. Who would've known they would be so deceptive. Wait... FUCK!"Good graphics. Weak human plots. Pretty enjoyable overall.
7/19/2007 4:31:00 PM
Did anyone catch whether "The Touch" was worked into the soundtrack at any point?
7/20/2007 12:57:05 AM
7/20/2007 1:15:22 AM
^^ I didn't notice it. I thought it might've been snuck in since I heard that Stan Bush had re-recorded "The Touch," but the new recording sounds almost exactly like the old one, down to the cheesy hair metal solo.^ Face it, kids. Visuals (I'll include Megan Fox under "visuals") and Shia aside, Transformers pales in comparison to Transformers: The Movie.
7/20/2007 1:32:35 AM
this movie is 7/10
7/20/2007 1:41:15 AM
OMF IT DAEDN'T HAEV BAH WEEP GRANA WEEP NINI BONG WTF SUX!
7/20/2007 9:17:15 AM
I could've use a series of inexplicable "innocent" judgments, yeah.
7/20/2007 2:59:56 PM
Just saw it. I enjoyed it for the most part, and read through about the last 7 pages of this thread, and agree with the ones that liked the movie overall. The product placement didnt bother me all that much, but I did notice how the movie touted GM. Didnt notice the HP thing and didnt pay attention to the fact that the Secure Digital card was manufactured by Panasonic. But for all the folks complaining about the portrayal of minorities, and Jazz, it seems everyone forgot about the black dudes in the military at the beginning of the movie. They came out of it ok for the most part, if I remember correctly.
7/27/2007 7:17:17 PM
I don't think Jazz was the only black Autobot...Bumblebee had WAY too much style to be a white guy
7/27/2007 10:39:11 PM
I found it to be a fun movie with some nostalgic aspects. I held it to appropriate standards for a movie of its type and enjoyed it as a live action version of a cartoon I saw growing up/toys I played with during childhood.
7/28/2007 3:02:13 PM
I just watched it, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was gonna be an awful train wreck like most things that Michael Bay touches.
8/27/2007 3:20:41 PM
Transformers is coming out in IMAX with 5 extra minutes of footage in September.
8/27/2007 7:26:48 PM
kick ass

^ fuck yea, i've been saying that about anderson for a long time
10/18/2007 1:55:25 AM
this thing is 100% bad asseryhttp://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/science/8ff3/
10/18/2007 2:21:23 PM
^^I used to passionately hate Anderson, but now I think he's more of a victim of typecasting. He did OK with his bit part in The Departed. But his "dumb fat guy" schtick is tired as hell and was never funny.
10/18/2007 2:34:59 PM
Didn't he play one of the sons in Me, Myself, and Irene? He did a pretty good job in that one.
10/18/2007 2:41:45 PM
anderson was good in the shield
10/18/2007 2:44:56 PM
So I spent waaaay too much on this DVD, and seeing it in IMAX, but I tell ya, it gets better every time I see it.
10/19/2007 4:10:28 AM
Ok so I just got the DVD and there are NO special features WTF?

10/30/2007 2:58:12 PM
^How could you not like that guy as Jesus in the The Big Lebowski?
10/30/2007 3:02:28 PM
^Easy, I think his acting is cheesy, bland, and rather nauseating. To me he does not do a good job of acting or making believe he is the character he plays. He is just one of those actors that has terrible acting ability to me. III
