Oh damn, I didn't know The Besnard Lakes were coming. I've never been to The Blend before... what's that place like?

ETA--- that Bishop Allen album has leaked, btw. I'm not sure if it's been posted or not and I have no idea how long ago the leak happened.

Seems like every band I want to see comes on a night when I have class.

I'll be seeing St. Vincent tomorrow night at 506 for sure and Okkervil River at the Cradle for sure. Other than that who knows.

Holy Crap... September is going to be one great month of shows, most of which are within a week of each other.

Are the tickets on sale yet?

dan deacon > girl talk, live performance wise

it's going to be a pretty sweaty show with at least one shirtless man though.

Dan Deacon live is an experience, but I can't see it being nearly as entertaining at a place like the Orange Peel as it is at Bickett/506.

Bishop Allen+Page France on Monday.

Just bought tickets to Dan Deacon+Girl Talk in Asheville.

p.s. Dan Deacon >>>>>> Girl Talk.

to each his own, but i feel like girl talk (greg gillis) understands how to use climaxes and changes to make his music feel like a party better than deacon. i think his editing is more immediately appealing. i can put night ripper on for a group of people that have never heard it, and most of them will be dancing along without even questioning it. if i put on dan deacon's album, i'd get a lot of wtfs. but regardless, dan deacon is a cool dude and i wish i hadn't missed his 506 show.

God, I hope Beirut comes to the area this fall when the new album comes out. For some odd reason, I've gone back to Gulag Orkestar and Lon Gisland this past week, and I'm so pissed I haven't seen them live yet.

^^ St. Vincent was adorable, as per usual. She was so happy to see people at her show, too.

ActionPants seemed to like her better without the band, (when she opened for Vanderslice with only her guitar) but I think the drums in particular helped out quite a bit when I saw her again.

^ tsk tsk, Cif

Nah, he's not alone. I thought it was dreadful; could just never get over her voice, personally. It was like nails on a chalkboard to my ears, though.

To each their own.

Went to SOJA at the Pour House on Tuesday.
Going to Perpetual Groove at Lincoln Theater tomorrow.
Then Cosmic Charlie at Cat's Cradle next Wednesday, and again at the Pour House at the end of August.

Can't wait for Franti & Spearhead in October.

Wolf Parade
Midlake
John Vanderslice
Animal Collective
Of Montreal
Okkervil River
Sunset Rubdown
Stars
Josh Ritter

What would you choose?

Going into that you should know Animal Collective probably won't be playing much if anything from Strawberry Jam so that might come into consideration.
