you talking about the dui?
11/30/2006 11:48:24 PM
^ yeah. it's not much, but i'd imagine that'll follow him wherever he goes. did you catch the HUGE piece they did on it today on outside the lines?either way, we'll probably end up having to "settle" for donnan, and he'll win the ACC, i'm calling it now.
12/1/2006 12:10:56 AM
no, didn't see it. either way, I bet solich will have success at his next stop.

^Had Eli Manning who was a great college QB. Of course I hate him now but he was good in college. You would say Chuck was a great offensive mind with Philip here.

fuckin hell - we can Amato, starting looking through all the big names that are out there, and SHERIDAN, a guy who has been out of coaching for 13 years, somehow manages to pop up on the rumor mill? Hell lets go get MOC and mazzone while we're at it. let roman gabriel be our QB's coach.
12/1/2006 8:16:19 AM
^Why not? we have 2 NC State BBall Legends coaching the bball team [Edited on December 1, 2006 at 8:37 AM. Reason : /sarcasm]
12/1/2006 8:31:44 AM
^at least they've been involved in basketball and coaching, Sheridan hasn't.

this thread has really slowed down in the last couple of days....
12/1/2006 11:44:25 AM
OMF MAYBE WE ALREADY HIRED SOMEONEor fowler has already botched itor they're actually using some form of discretion this time, so if/when we do get turned down by prospects we don't fuel the N&O and media fire like the bball search.
12/1/2006 11:46:04 AM
I think people are just pulling random names nowand lee fowler is fucking up
12/1/2006 1:29:44 PM
12/1/2006 1:57:15 PM
Cutcliffe could succeed, but he'd need a top-notch staff around him, especially recruiters. The recruiting at Ole Miss really dropped off after Eli's class, and the cupboard was pretty much left bare for Orgeron.
12/1/2006 2:19:02 PM
I would rather have great coordinator's rather than a high profile head coach.

I hope this Paul Johnson roomer is true. [Edited on December 1, 2006 at 8:52 PM. Reason : .]
12/1/2006 8:51:15 PM
I would like Michigan's D coordinator Ron EnglishHe'd be a great fit
12/1/2006 9:37:44 PM
i think everyone involved in the search is hesitant to hire a defensive coach.
12/1/2006 9:51:52 PM
how about one that instills discipline
12/1/2006 9:54:40 PM
12/2/2006 1:04:48 AM
stop starting roomers
12/2/2006 1:09:37 AM
^^^ my only real worry about Paul Johnson is that he hasn't had to worry about discipline issues for the last few years, he's had his entire university there to punish players that got out of hand, and it's a military setting, the rules are just different. How's he going to react to the behavior of some NCSU athletes, how're they going to react to him? Are they going to be trying to push his limits right away, is there a good way he could crack down on them?
12/2/2006 12:18:57 PM
ITS NOT A ROOMER!
12/2/2006 12:26:03 PM
there is always a good way to crack down - kick players off the team
12/2/2006 6:58:43 PM
discipline couldnt get any worse....heck, we did have a murderer come back and play for Ocain/Amato

New Information:Big-time contributors not satisfied with Fowler's handling of the situation; they possibly feel shutout; However, one source reveals Paul Johnson is the leading candidate; No coordinators or assistant coaches will be considered.....That knocks Chow and the coordinators out of the box....if anything breaks tonight, our source will give us the news....Media Source: Fowler disregards Murphy on Wednesday; will not hire Neinas and as of Friday, no firm had been hired.....reportedly, Murphy furious....Virtually no support in Pack nation for Fowler....stay tuned
12/2/2006 7:29:51 PM
plz to see your sources

Newer Information:Julius Peppers shows interest in NC State AD job pending the removal of Lee Fowler after the coaching search is complete. Due to Fowler's leading candidate being Coker and the refusal of the boosters to accept him, the university is at a deadlock that sees no potential end. The possibility of an interim coach just to terminate Fowler is possible. Leading candidate for that position is Magic Johnson.See, anyone can make this shit up.
12/2/2006 7:47:32 PM
you could be right.. but it does make some sense.. I take any info i find in blogs with a grain of salt..reportedly we have plenty of great coaches/assistants that want to coach here.. so we shouldn't have any problem hiring someone, and should have done so by now unless Fowler has his eyes set one 1 person and we're waiting for his answer.. Gee.. sounds like the bball search all over again.I don't think we should count out assistants just because our last 'assistant' hire turned out to have very little head coaching skills and lacked discipline and had a hard time keeping a staff. Everyone has to start out somewhere..
12/2/2006 7:57:09 PM
Not considering assistants is probably the dumbest thing I've heard from Fowler. Jimbo and Chow would both be better than Paul Johnson.
12/3/2006 11:09:57 AM
I am not interested in Paul Johnson. Yeah, he took fucking navy from the shitter to a decent team but for fucks sake.....he got demolished this year by Rutgers, Notre Dame, and lost to Tulsa. He has no big wins. Don't give me this shit about....BUT HE BUILT A PROGRAM.....It doesn't take a big time program to get big time wins/ SEE WAKE FOREST.Please for the love of god give us someone who will excite the fan base, show us a fun offense, and win 8 games a year. I think that might be Jimbo or Donnan. If we hire Johnson, I am sure it will be a long, slow, rebuilding process that ends in a termination by year 5. HIRE JIMBO OR DONNAN.
12/3/2006 11:18:46 AM
ohh and fire Lee Fuckup. He is a shit
12/3/2006 11:19:15 AM
12/3/2006 11:22:00 AM
^^^ you DO realize that he can only recruit guys who want to give a commitment to the navy. IE... pretty much if you have any NFL aspirations you aren't gonna want to go to the naval academy. Basically, he has had shit athletes and he has built a program that would probably beat our team's ass right now. Think about what would he would do with good athletes. He won something like 5 national championships at the div 2 level. Lets not throw the guy under the bus just yet.[Edited on December 3, 2006 at 11:22 AM. Reason : s]
12/3/2006 11:22:04 AM
granted....so you are telling me he hasnt had to actually recruit since he was in div II? Wake averages recruits with 2 stars. Whats your point? It doesn't matter recruits.....what matters is results and this fuck lost this year BIG FUCKING TIME to the teams who were good
12/3/2006 11:28:33 AM
i can guaran-damn-tee you johnson would be a winner. he's got 2 or 3 national coach of the year awards
12/3/2006 11:30:56 AM
No doubt.Wake may not get great recruits, but they had a plethora of 5th year seniors this season (and experience means a great deal). Plus, they got lucky with a freshman quarterback that has very good composure.Navy gets SHIT recruits compared to almost all D-1 schools. I mean, look at last night, Johnson led his team to victory with 11 yards passing (the QB went 1 for 6). This is not because he loves a conservative offense, he simply works wonders with what he has. Georgia Southern for example had an explosive passing game.Trying to argue that navy should play close to ND or a very impressive rutgers this year is blatantly stupid.[Edited on December 3, 2006 at 11:40 AM. Reason : l]
12/3/2006 11:38:21 AM
^^^ results matter, but its hard to get results when the players you can get simply shouldn't be starting for a division 1 program, much less having to play the likes of brady quinn and co.good coaching turned navy from a doormat to a solid team. johnson surely could work some magic with the talent we have here.i'm a proponent of jimbo fisher anyway, but thats mainly cause the rumor is that he's going to bring either lsu or auburn's DC with him if he goes anywhere, which would be badass. and if what dude ^^^ way up there said is true about us not going after any coordinators or assistant coaches, johnson is prolly the best option.[Edited on December 3, 2006 at 11:39 AM. Reason : ^]
12/3/2006 11:39:07 AM
^Don't they run that running offense like Wake has? They really don't pass the ball much and they usually average like 200 yards rushing or something a game, so I'm not suprised they managed to win with 11 passing yards. With his offense, if he wins a game with 11 rushing yards, then it would truly be impressive.
12/3/2006 11:40:42 AM
aren't you guys concerned at all about the steriod scandal revolving around this coach? Do you just overlook that because he "built" a program with Navy? Who gives a fuck what he built at Navy. Let Bama have this guy......oh wait THEY DONT WANT HIM....you know why, because no BIG TIME PROGRAMS WANT THIS GUY
12/3/2006 11:43:41 AM
Loss to Rutgers - starting QB for Navy had his leg blow the fuck up (dislocated, torn ACL, MCL, PCL) - the game was even at that point with Navy on the move...a sophomore QB had to come in for his first non-garbage play ever, against a ranked team that is obviously a good one this year. the team psyche was ruined and even with the defense playing strong (held Ray Rice to less than 100 yards rushing) the offense couldn't get movingLoss to Notre Dame - now it's that Soph's first ever career start (oh yeah, this is the first time in 5 years Navy had a non-senior start at QB). Played them close through the 1st half, being a FG from a tied score late in the 2nd quarter. ND's athleticism and size took over in the 2nd half.Tulsa - a bowl bound team who went 8-4 this year. Navy lost on a blocked PAT in OT.I'm sure that you don't know dick about Navy, and that's fine with me. I don't want PJ leaving, especially to a place he's going to have to deal with a fairly good-sized contingent of shit-head fans. I love state, but a good bit of the fanbase are fucking morons and flat-out dicks. Same shit with Bama - who the fuck in their right mind would want to go to some place where you get fired 12 months after a 10-2 season?and your steroids comment shows a clear lack of knowledge about anything Navy or PJ. if you don't think he handles that kind of shit, why don't you tell me how many of these kids played a snap that year afte rpopping for a newly-banned substance that was bought at GNC.oh, and Navy averages 327 yards rushing a game, not 200-ish. 1st in the nation for 3 of the last 5 years[Edited on December 3, 2006 at 11:47 AM. 12/3/2006 11:44:50 AM
good point about the bama thing ^, and to add to that shula had gotten a CONTRACT EXTENSION like 6 months earlier
12/3/2006 11:48:24 AM
hey bud, I'm glad you have all these excuses for losses right now, cause you are going to need them for the next five years....thanks for your input
12/3/2006 11:49:01 AM
we've got a pretty good running list of excuses to use by this point, after hearin just about every one in the book the past 3 seasons from chuck
12/3/2006 11:49:59 AM
While Paul Johnson isn't my first choice for the new HC, he is right that Navy definately does not have the same talent as any other D-1 school.
12/3/2006 11:59:14 AM
^^^ just about every sports reporter and analyst I have come across thinks the guy is top notch, including Chuck Neinas who recommended UNC go after the guy with full gusto if they couldn't land Butch or Ty.But I suppose you would know much more than all of those people who breathe, eat, and shit college football.
