haha, this actually made me laugh and feel a little better. It's gonna be pretty embarrassing to wear a Mets hat for the next year...

that is the worst bugler I have ever heard. good gracious

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahawhat an odd year... lets examine my overall sports happiness Bad StuffTennessee not being that good so far -10NC State being fucking horrible - 1Braves not making the playoffs -.5Good StuffND being really fucking bad +100Michigan losing to App. State +10Florida losing to Auburn +10Mets choking +10Yankees not winning the east +10Cowboys Dominating +50
9/30/2007 7:38:40 PM
Things we know.....People who are Braves, Tennessee, and Cowgirls fans at the same time are the biggest pussy's on the planet
9/30/2007 7:44:47 PM
and it always seems that people that like ND also like the Yankees
9/30/2007 7:46:51 PM
ND fans baseball allegiances outlined below:cubs - well over 50%red sox - 20%yankess - <10%
9/30/2007 7:48:14 PM
thats probably true... let me reword thatYankees fans always seem to be ND fans
9/30/2007 7:49:31 PM
I always thought the fan base was this.College Bball: unc-chCollege Fball: ndMLB: yankeesNFL: cowboys
9/30/2007 7:50:44 PM
na, not at all... just going by bandwagon when the Yankees got to be really good is right when the Cowboys went to shit. For actual fans, I dont see New Yorkers supporting the cowboys over the Giants or Jets
9/30/2007 7:55:37 PM
yeah, thats completely illogical
9/30/2007 7:55:40 PM
well I was mocking you... but I've seen fans that pulled for all of those teams. It's more for the fans that don't live in NY/Dallas/etc and randomly pull for the teams I listed because its easy to pull for the bandwagon team.
9/30/2007 7:58:00 PM
thats what I am saying... when the Cowboys were kicking ass, the Yankees sucked, when the Yankees got good, the Cowboys sucked
9/30/2007 7:59:26 PM
Packers, Yankees, Notre Dame, NCSU !!!!

I had a former coworker (in NYC) who's teams were:Yankees, UMiami, UNC, Cowboys, Lakers.I actually used to have real sports conversations with him, then when he told me who all his teams were i just laughed and gave up.

please folks please, can we get back to the topic at hand?honestly Mets. i am so sorry for our cross town rivals.
9/30/2007 10:31:11 PM
I'll wear my Mets hat as often as I have in the past..I've been a fan for 26 years. I'm hardly about to stop being one now...^ this was ALMOST as bad as having a lead in the 9th inning of a game up 3-0 in the ALCS only to lose that one and the following 3 to our most bitter rivals... but not quite.
9/30/2007 10:44:35 PM
I have been a Mets fan all my life. I am sad that they choked and will not be in the playoffs. With that said, the Mets need to rebuild their pitching staff in the off season. The pitching staff came into the season short handed and was burnt out by mid-season.This year's pitches (includes pitchers on IR):W. Collazo, P. Feliciano, O. Hernandez, P. Humber, J. Maine, P. Martinez, A. Sele, O. Perez, B. Wagner, M. Pelfrey, C. Muniz, T. Glavine, A. Heilman, S. Schoeneweis, J. Sosa, G. Mota, J. Smith, D. Williams, J. Vargas, D. Sanchez, J. PadillaWho should Mets keep/resign? Who should Mets boot/cut/trade?[Edited on October 1, 2007 at 12:07 AM. Reason : ]

It's time to go young in the rotation. They'll take their lumps but we need to get a solid foundation in the rotation. Glavine is as good as gone, back to Atlanta (where he'll promptly win 17 and go 5-0 with a 1.50 ERA against the Mets)...PedroPerezEl DuqueMainePelfreyI think that rotation could get 55 wins b/t the first four and Pelfrey/Humber/Mulvey can get 10 or so... In the pen the only three I'm counting on are Heilman (last year as Met), Feliciano and Wagner. Joe Smith can be solid and Schoenweiss will be good if he is used correctly, as a lefty specialist ONLY. Sanchez is a question mark.. who knows if he'll ever be the same. I think Humber should be used in the pen if he isn't in the rotation... sort of like how Santana was in Min..I really hope we re-sign Castillo and Lo Duca to 2 year deals with options for 3. Re-sign Alou to a 1 year deal. Milledge starts in RF. Pray Delgado was just injured this year.ReyesCastilloWrightBeltranAlou ---> with Gomez to spot him when he is out but to start the year in AAADelgadoMilledgeLo DucaThe lineup was GREAT since the Castillo acquisition. This can be a 95-100 team win. It should have been this year but the determination just wasn't there. I expect that to be totally different come Spring.

^ So now you believe Glavine will go back to the Braves? Just last week, you were saying he'd be back with the Mets. I guess after his abortion of a start on Sunday, it's probably better for both sides to go their separate ways. Glavine will opt out of his contract with the Mess and go sign a one or two year deal with his real team. Hopefully someone like the Red Sox, Yankees, or Angels (i.e. a team with too much money) will not come in and try and sign him with big $$$
10/1/2007 3:00:46 PM
Just judging by his comments I think he'll be a Braves pitcher next year. Things change...I honestly don't think this team needs a huge shakeup. Everyone in that dugout knows they blew it and all that does, is make them work harder for next year. Beltran already has said he will never let this happen again. Everyone knows Wright is a gamer. I hope we re-sign Lo Duca, he is the heart and soul of the team... Milledge is ready. etc, etc.The bullpen needs to obviously be improved but that can come mostly internally (Humber, Sanchez, Smith and Colazzo are all good arms).I think everyone, Braves and Mets fans, agree that this team should have won 90-95 games. There is no excuse why.I'll tell you one thing, Jose Reyes needs to grow up and start playing to his talent level or he'll be hearing it a lot worse than he did yesterday. I never though I'd hear the day that he got booed out of Shea..

I don't even think it was his fault entirely. I like the guy. He makes some mistakes but so does every manager...The players, from top to bottom, just didn't get it done and were way too overconfident. Really the only two that consistently busted it and played well down the stretch were Wright and Beltran...

isn't it the manager's job to keep those egos in check and keep everyone motivated?

Ernie would only like Willie Randolph if he had the all time record for ejections as a manager
