^. Definitely buy and sell in piecesI'm picking up chunks of ACI leading up to their split this month. Option premiums are really good as well.

^^ That's not really a "Cramer" tactic, it's pretty standard investing strategy.

CSCO up a buck in after hours!29 cents vs. 26 expected (.27 was the highest estimate). Sales at 7.3 Billion.

how are you guys jumping in on gold? I wanted to move into EZM, but I think it's too late. I know there's a way to make money on gold without playing options, but I just feel like I'm a step behind.
5/9/2006 9:50:12 PM
what about the gold ETF?
5/9/2006 9:51:31 PM
symbol?
5/9/2006 9:53:50 PM
GLD invests directly in gold bullionGDM is an index of mining companies, but appears to be a little more volatile.
5/9/2006 9:57:56 PM
cool, finally. do you have any good readings on investing in ETFs? Then I'll have a night's worth of reading to catch up on

Edit: For the love of God why didn't I buy HANS back when I got some GOOG, too?!!? I definitely thought $120 was too much but it's up $24/share today to $201. *dies*[Edited on May 10, 2006 at 5:36 PM. Reason : ]

5/11/2006 5:19:00 PM
^ short term (up until the split), hard to saymedium/long term (couple of months until rest of the year), there is a very visible uptrend in mineral commodities and metals (for TIE + the ones you mentioned)
5/11/2006 5:48:39 PM
Mr. joshuaback to this for a sec...pardon the delayed response.
5/11/2006 6:08:19 PM
I got in a 0.135. Originally I put my limit order at 0.13 but no one wanted it after 5-10 minutes so I modified it to 0.135 and it was taken within a few seconds. So far I got in a 0.18 and 0.135, with a large majority at the former.
5/11/2006 7:20:39 PM
Wow, sort of an ugly start for the market today
5/12/2006 9:51:00 AM
I remember back in the 90s that stocks always softened in the summertime. Maybe we are back to that behavior.
5/12/2006 9:52:00 AM
it was a raging week for commodities, so obviously there'll be a bit of a selloff today.tech is in a near term downtrend, its either near bottom or in a downtrend until 2nd half of the year.may see some renewed interest and a pop in healthcare & biotechs in the coming weeks, and definitely an uptrend towards the end of the year.
5/12/2006 9:54:21 AM

wow, an ugly, ugly day for TIE, although it creates a good buying oppurtunityThose of you who got in PGPM and FPPL will be happy to know that they have been steady and have support at their current levels, so hopefully theres nowhere to go but up. Good to get in at the ground floor.

5/12/2006 2:53:29 PM

5/12/2006 3:33:40 PM
trailing stops are your friend

Good day for NLST. If you think that this isn't going to be a good stock to own going into the Hurricane season, you might want to think again.
5/12/2006 3:50:07 PM
What does NLST do?
5/12/2006 3:56:19 PM
their statement:National Storm Management Services, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides insurance restoration services related to residential hail and wind damage repair to residents in Florida, Illinois, Missouri, and Ohio. It provides repair and replacement services of roofing, siding, gutter, window, and sundry exterior items. The company is headquartered in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. They just opened an office in Metarie, LA (New Orleans) to handle all the post Katrina work in Lousiana and Mississippi, which has a huge backlog of needed repairs. Look at what the stock was trading during the post Katrina time and what it is at now. Good potential stock as hurricane season starts, there should be a buzz about it in the future. As always, do your own due dilligence.
