That's sad that the O's seriously wants to get rid of Ponson AGAIN, and then Ponson intentionally gets hurt like that. Come on, it's not like he could have prevented that. Conspiracy I say.

Byrnes had a hell of a game last night. I really enjoyed watching him play in Oakland.

looks like I was correct with my prediction, the O's are 9 1/2 out, the Sox have a 3 1/2 game lead on the Yankees.

i believe sober was talking to jwolf in that above post (which was correct at the time), and that you didn't make your prediction until after sober said that

true but i was still right about your pitching. your hitting is not as strong, and especially since Raffy is going to miss some games you guys are in real trouble, and the collapse started at the end of june.

you're right

man i really wish i had of jumped on the bandwagon for boston and new york, because being a dedicated fan is just so much easier when its for the winning team. this way, when they're losing you can keep your mouth shut, and when they're winning, you can tell everyone how you've been a fan of theirs forever!!!

look, the way i see it, there's 2 months of a regular season left.

meet ya at the finish line, yanksox (yes, they ARE one in the same)

Not everyone is a bandwagon fan. One day the O's will actually do something to get some bandwagon fans and then you can deal with people like you talking shit about everyone being a wagoner and realize how retarded those people sound...

...but it won't be this year.

look if you can't tolerate the trash talk then don't bring it in the Red Sox forum, and don't call me bandwagon I have been a Red Sox fan for 23 years, I was 7 when the ball rolled under Buckner's legs and we lost Game 6 and eventually the world series. Last year was fun but do I need to post in the Red Sox thread everyday, hell if you go back through it I kept that thread alive for the first quarter of the season when we were losing ground on the LEB's.

aha

i can tolerate plenty of trash talk

but you better be ready us to sling it right back on ya.

and i dont care how long you've been a fan, throwing around the word "bandwagon" is just an easy way to get people riled up, ESPECIALLY boston and new york fans.

true, but the bandwagon can be said for all teams fans, I started seeing a lot of O's hats when they were doing good, just like I am seeing a lot of White Sox hats this year, human nature wants to root for a winner not a loser, but hey I am a State fan too so I am used to disappointment, hell beating the Yanks in game 7 was like winning the '83 championship nobody thought we could do it. 86 years of frustration was rough now its time to reap some benefits.

basically my hate for the red sox comes from my hate of peter gammons and all things espn

their boner for the bosox was so bad it broke the skin. but they do that with the yanks, the astros, the cubs, and ichiro as well. so it's resentment, because i could give a shit what johnny damon had for breakfast. i dont even care what melvin mora eats for breakfast, really.

so yea. 22 years without a world series has been tough enough, i can't imagine what 80+ must have felt like.

well you do understand the ESPN is in Bristol, Ct so in the area most of the people working for them are either BoSox or Yankee fans. Yes Gammons is pro Boston but he doesn't even make regular appearances on BT anymore

when you take one of the best teams at the beginning of the season.. and go on a 14 out of 15 game losing streak.. you know something will happen.. it's probably his stupidity of not making changes to the pitching personnel that canned him..

if only we can find a manager like Earl Weaver, Johnny Oates, or Davey Johnson..

but in his defense, injuries played a key role in the drop off from the beginning of season..the MAJORITY of the key players were injured at some point in the season. and its not like he has control of the pitching personnel. i would blame management for not trying to acquire more pitching....he can only do with what hes got..and he doesnt have much.

It's not Mazzilli's fault that the O's have no pitching.

It's not Mazzilli's fault that the O's play in the best division in baseball.

It's not Mazzilli's fault that Raffy tested positive for roids.

It's not Mazzilli's fault that the front office couldn't bring in the right players by the deadline to compete with the other elite teams in the AL.

Just when it looked like the O's couldn't get any worse, today they did.

wow i would say the wheels fell off and the axles are buried in mud in the O's camp, its not Mazzilli's fault that the GM and owners are morons bringing in a has been like Sosa was a mistake, and the pitching woes aren't his fault either.

t was a mistake to hire Mazzili in the first place.

no, not everything was his fault. but his inability as a leader to step up and rally the troops when the chips are down was ultimately his failure. he has been going through the motions since the all-star break, and he just didn't look happy. plus, i've heard alot from a buddy of mine who interns up there that the locker room morale even while they were winning wasn't the best. being a manager's not about keeping guys healthy as much as it is keeping the talent productive and managing egos. it's something that phil jackson, joe torre, and bill parcell's can do no problem, but i have a feeling that mazzilli had very little luck with it.

his Yankee heart wasn't in baltimore to begin with. he belongs in pinstripes, and thats fine with me.

i say make Dempsey the new manager. until then, good luck Perlazzo

oh i was pissed when one of my only nights off, and they blacked out ESPN b/c CSN was carrying it.. and FSN wasn't carrying it because ESPN was.. this was during the Minnesota series..

Most of the reason Orioles games aren't on Comcast as much is b/c of the Washington Nationals.. so the orioles have been showing more games on their PAX/WB affiliate..

the games on the 9-12(TB,TOR) are CSN.. 13-14(TOR) are WB/PAX
15-17(OAK) are CSN, 19-21(CLE) are WB/PAX
23-25(LAA) are CSN, 26-28(OAK) are WB/PAX
