Whats the point of having to put a reason for editing a post?? I mean its not like it is useful information, most people just put something informative such as "because" or something like that, its just a waste of time.

I think the edit reason should stay for the simple fact that people can see that the post has been edited. If there was not edit reason the flow of the conversation would mess up.

Imagine a thread about "are you in a relationship"

all the reply's would answer that. Then the initial question was turned into are you a racist child molester. It is an extreme case and would probably be noticable, but with a huge blob that says the edited time, it is obvious that it was edited and changed.

If you have an alternative that is great, but the edit reason will probably be here as long as you will.
