I haven't followed too closely, but i don't understand why they can't figure-out this "mystery".

Don't we have the technology to easily investigate/intercept these drones and determine what they are?

And they're supposedly flying over critical infrastructure like dams and power plants...

Help me out, how has this been going on for days with no "explanation"?

I'm reminded of the time when the FBI was trying to catch a serial killer. The serial killer was dousing the crime scene in alcohol. The FBI publicly was stating they had no leads and the alcohol was ruining the samples they were getting from the crime scene. In actuality it was preserving it leading to the serial killers capture.

It's just as possible they do know what it is and they do not want the perpetrator to know they know. Whether it's a state actor or a private individual. Also, it could be some military operation or it could be feigning defenselessness so that our adversaries think we're defenseless against drone swarms.

99.99999% of this is mass hysteria and the sightings are bullshit. The original information about smaller drones flying over Langley AFB, Ramstein AFB, and other places are almost certainly legitimate and a cause for concern. But every video or photo that I have seen so far made by somebody's shitty cellphone camera is a commercial or private aircraft. I say this as somebody who is an aviation photographer that has some pretty serious camera gear and sometimes likes the challenge of going out and attempting to photograph planes at night. I've photographed numerous military aircraft in both daylight and at night as well as gone to dozens of airshows, travel to airports expressly for plane spotting, and grew up around aviation as my dad and grandfather were both pilots who owned planes and I hope to get my license in the near future as well. I just checked and my current collection of aviation photos is around 600k in my Lightroom catalog so I think I'm a bit of a subject matter expert on this. I'm very open to the possibility of new and exotic aircraft/drones/UAP's and would love to get photos of one, but so far nothing has been very convincing in this whole drone hysteria.

They are definitely US government drones and they are definitely looking for something. My guess is shipping containers full of Little Debbie cakes being illegally smuggled into North Korea for Kim Jong. The Christmas tree cakes just hit the shelves a few weeks ago, so he’s probably getting his fix in for the holiday season like anyone else.
