My previous car caused people to laugh at me, but it was MUCH cheaper.

Helluva deal!

my neighbor across the street has one. plus 3 other Teslas. And solar panels + power walls. And I don't think he's necessarily even a big Elon fan or anything. He just has a lot of money to throw around and got invested in the Tesla ecosystem a long time ago. He seems happy with it.

I would buy one no matter how ass ugly it is if I thought it was the best truck for my usage. I am intrigued by the hard, stainless panels and their supposed resistance to scratches, dents, etc...but I would be concerned that--aside from the corrosion issues some people had with industrial fallout or whatever was causing it--you might be trading one set of problems for another (like trying to keep a stainless refrigerator clean, if it spent half its time outdoors.)

...but I'd be partial to a Rivian if I wanted to spent a bunch of money on an electric truck.

There is literally nothing that a cybertruck would be the best option for your usage. Unless you want a truck that renders itself inoperable because of small amounts of water. Seriously, the electric options of the big companies are already MUCH better than the cybertruck. Granted, battery electrics in general make terrible trucks if you need any sort of range while hauling cargo/towing.

If you own 4 teslas and all the tesla power stuff you are absolutely a huge elon stan. There are better electric vehicles in all classes.

yeah, agreed, I'd prob go Rivian first, F150 Lightning second, and Cybertruck last. I'm just saying that I would overlook the eyesore factor if it was the best tool for the job otherwise. It's a truck; the looks are kinda low on the priority list for me.

and I'm not so sure that there's anything in the class of the Model 3 that is better, and maybe not the Model Y.

At best it is an SUV. Trucks should have truck beds

I was entering the NC Opera's raffle when they were giving out $75k to the Tesla dealership. Never won but I was gonna pre-order a cybertruck if I did. Thought that would be a funny story.

if you wanna see like 50 of them in a row, go to the old Golden Corral parking lot off Glenwood. Not sure why they keep them there...especially with Craptree Creek flooding and all....

I saw one driving around that was basically being used as a mobile billboard, selling advertising. Considering that they're still new enough where people stare at them, it didn't seem like a terrible idea.

It’s fraud

The Tesla facility just down the street from there is overflowing with unsold Tesla’s

But Tesla hasn’t cut production to match demand, so they keep “delivering” the vehicles to the showroom. Showrooms run out of space and lease nearby places. Tesla brags about “delivering” X amount of vehicles to investors. Meanwhile this inventory is piling up.
