I have this vague memory when I was around 7-11 of catching toads with my friends and then storing them in this "habitat" we had created under his deck or something.either from the woods, or sometimes they would wound up on some tarp he had over somethinganyone else do this or something similar? share your experiences with the group P.S. lol, this reminds me of how my dad told me a story once of how he once picked up a snake or something and took it to school in his backpack

I also caught toads. Probably why I've had several warts over the years.

^^I don't think I've ever had a wart. I think I had some corn on my feet once due to wearing tight shoes for sport.[Edited on February 7, 2024 at 1:22 PM. Reason : I think the correct pluralization for corn here would be "corns", but "corn" is funny sounding, so]

Proud to be wart-free!

I caught a ton of toads as a kid, mostly at my grandparents' house. They had a pond. One year, there was an absolute explosion of spring peepers. My cousin and I must have caught hundreds of the things over just a few days. There were so many that they came up the drainage ditch to where the house's drain let out and started getting inside.

If the frogs are gay, the toads are uber masculine

I caught tons of frogs down in South Carolina near Lake Hartwell.

fatcatt316 always comes through whenever I post. needed to point this out, you are a real one. best TWWer with a three digit number in their name , lol jkBut what are saying when we mean caught? Hands, are there any traps?LET'S TALK DETAILS-->I had two main sources for my amphibians. One, the tarp my friend had, and two, the woods nearby. Our woods weren't too dense and were relatively flat, but were still rather untouched, so they were perfect for kids to explore. We even had a few of those logs you use to cross over a stream. The woods held the real sport, the real test of man kid. The tarp was more fun though. We'd randomly be hanging out and find a toad just chilling. And boom, he was part of the gangAlso, the only salamander I remember ever seeing was a dead salamander floating on a lake. Had to fit that in, cause I don't know what other context I'd share this information in
