All basic cable channels became indistinguishable from each other sometime in the early 00s.

MTV was the most apparent total fall-off creatively, but the Weather Channel going from this chilled, smooth jazz oasis you could just leave on for hours at a time, turning into EXTREME KILLER METEOROLOGY made me the saddest.
