I work for the post office and I literally want to die every day due to poor management and understaffing

I'm tired of this mess

it's supposed to die down and it never does

there's always some bullshit

and I understand that that occurs in almost all jobs, but it's bullshit on top of having to work 10-14 hours a day to cover for dumb pieces of shit who don't want to work, but can't get fired (I guess due to stupid union protections that are way beyond what they should be)

ideally it's good when we have the help, but everyone all over the nation is quitting every job and it's putting a 2.5x load on me daily and I want to just fucking die and IDK what to do please help me

My company contracts Amazon logistics across 4 states and I feel every word of this except the wanting to die/feeling stuck parts.

With a NC State degree, you should be able to get a better job than a shitty post office role. We may not have the good ole boy system that UNC has, but your State degree means something.

If you want to work in software, there are a metric poo-ton of jobs right now.

Bootcamp might be the way to go, but you could also try to learn on your own while staying at USPS (although it doesn't sound like you have much free time outside work).

I will take the troll comments I’m sure to get. I was recruited by a firm I didn’t think I wanted to work for on LinkedIn and am there now. They have been really good to me from the introductions to the conversations about my future. I stayed open minded and told em to line me up with their management and I’d carve out the time. Signed the contract not long after.

And in finance I will say 99.9 percent of ppl have LinkedIn. So it may vary from industry to industry but it’s no just for the minorities you think you can black out the racist rhetoric you are dropping.
