Quote :
"People of color represented 43% of the total US population in 2020, up from 34% in 2010.
...
In California, the Hispanic or Latino population officially became the largest racial or ethnic group in the state for the first time. The Hispanic or Latino community now represents 39.4% of Californians, an increase from 37.6% in 2010. The non-Hispanic White population in California was 34.7% in 2020.
"

Asians are a whopping 6% of the country which is nice, but there are almost as many multiracial ppl as asians now (although realistically a huge number of african americans and white people and native Americans are technically multiracial).

By 2030 white people will still be the overwhelming plurality of americans, but not a majority anymore nationwide.

It's not hard to see why the Trump/Stepen Miller types are panicking about this, but maybe it helps to realize that California has the highest GDP per capita of any US state, so diversity is at least good for the economy right?

LOL no

To the extent that conservatives are thinking about this at all, they're thinking, "Woohoo! California and New York lost seats, Texas gained them! Red states is better! Own the libs!"

Second - and speaking here as someone who is extremely in favor of diversity - it's a little silly to give credit for California's economy solely or even primarily to its diversity. For one thing, it's at least as much the flip side of that - that people come to California from all over because of the economic opportunities there. More broadly, if I were to rank the reasons for California's relative economic success, the top spot would be a tossup between "climate" and "geographic location," both of which drive human factors rather than being driven by them. (Yes yes I know, climate change, you get my point)

I agree 100% I guess I'm just being reactionary to the kind of comments I see the white supremacists make on Reddit/twitter

Funny that Trump's interference prob helped fuck over red states
Quote :
"A follow-up survey the bureau conducted to measure the national tally's accuracy found significant net undercount rates in six states: Arkansas (5.04%), Florida (3.48%), Illinois (1.97%), Mississippi (4.11%), Tennessee (4.78%) and Texas (1.92%).

It also uncovered significant net overcount rates in eight states — Delaware (5.45%), Hawaii (6.79%), Massachusetts (2.24%), Minnesota (3.84%), New York (3.44%), Ohio (1.49%), Rhode Island (5.05%) and Utah (2.59%)."
