Man the trailer is freaking awesome. Gemma Chan is stunning beautiful. Chole Chao directed her first-ever Marvel movie. This is the first REAL MCU movie. Parallel universe. Also their largest invest/budget ever--$.2B. Even bigger than Avengers 4. They bet on the whole production team. Bravo. The Eternals could be REAL. Some aliens from another planet came down to the earth billions of yrs ago and the human beings are part of their evolution. That's scientific discoveries.

What do you mean by this is the first real MCU movie? Also, where were these guys during the fight against Thanos? Yeah trying to claim neutrality blah blah blah but how are they still neutral after Thanos snaps half of them out of existence?
6/9/2021 2:34:37 PM
^ They're like Uncle Martian. Have been on the earth for a long long time. They are from a completely parallel universe.
6/9/2021 3:45:06 PM
you're an idiot.
6/9/2021 9:45:47 PM
Yea Disney can dress it up any way they want to and throw any excuse at it, but it's going to be a hard sell trying to explain why these guys didn't help out during Thanos. There isn't much more of a threat then half of existence being deleted.Unless maybe they claim they knew that the Avengers would bring everybody back, but even then, you put trillions of beings' existence into pure chaos when the blip happens.

From the trailer we know it seems like the main theme about this movie is ETERNAL love between the characters of Richard Madden and Gemma Chan. Because the theme song is The End of the World^ I think I answered your first question. I know nothing about Thanos. Some of the technologies they used are very cool and extraordinary. Like switching between the ancient and modern times. It's also used in ShangChi.[Edited on June 10, 2021 at 9:45 AM. Reason : add another note]

This is the first real MCU movie because they have been on earth for a long time and are from a different dimension? That makes no sense at all.The first real MCU movie was Iron Man.
6/10/2021 9:56:47 AM
^Iron Man is still on this planet. At that time Marvel was not MCU yet. I watched Iron Man I and II both at Blue Ridge. So I remember correctly.
6/10/2021 10:29:18 AM
So your definition for what constitutes a "real" MCU movie is if it is on this planet?... okay so Thor was the first one then since a lot of it was on Asgard.
6/10/2021 11:52:11 AM
I watched Thor too at Blue Ridge. My understand is that it's another universe but based on comic book. So I only know Thor and Natalie Portman having fun somewhere else. In their kingdom basically.
6/10/2021 11:59:04 AM
Yeah but there were parts on another planet so that makes it part of the MCU. Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel were on other planets as well so only those three series are parts of the MCU.

Please do not engage the troll, it only encourages him.
6/10/2021 2:14:00 PM
^^ Right. Probably until Galaxy series and Captain Marvel, Marvel showed their real ambitions.
6/10/2021 2:19:44 PM
^^ Why do you think I'm trolling? I just started a thread for opening discussion.
6/10/2021 2:37:48 PM
This will suck but I'm open to having my mind changed.
6/11/2021 7:10:56 PM
I doubt it will suck. The worst marvel movies are still competent, I’ll be checking it out either way.
6/11/2021 7:27:44 PM
The director is the 2nd female and 1st colored female Oscar winner. Also one of the youngest. It should be insuredBut some of the scenes do look like confusing and miserable [Edited on June 12, 2021 at 7:03 AM. Reason : .]

Looks like this was primarily set on Earth after all, so sorry shoot, I guess it isn't in the MCU after all.Saw it last week. I enjoyed the movie and what it adds to the Marvel lore as a whole. Looking forward to seeing the characters show up in the future. I def think their explanation for not intervening with Thanos was weak though. I get the whole "neutral unless deviants are involved" deal, but him snapping half of life in the universe means that the food source for all celestials in development is also cut in half. Would Arishem really be cool with Thanos setting his plan back that much? The whole goal of Arishem was to create life by creating celestials, so he has no issue with Thanos killing half of that life that he's already created?
11/8/2021 2:17:32 PM
I think the key to whether it's in the MCU is if it can be watched at the Blue Ridge theater.
11/8/2021 9:13:07 PM
You mean the one that closed and has been demolished?
11/9/2021 10:48:26 PM
Yeah, that's what makes it "the first REAL MCU movie."
11/10/2021 4:52:19 PM
^^ shoot has some very specific conditions for a movie to be considered part of the MCU.
11/11/2021 9:27:00 PM
Watched it today, actually thought it was a pretty entertaining good watch.
1/16/2022 7:15:13 PM
Didn't do much for me. Was this movie meant to be a setup for the next Marvel saga?I've probably aged out of the market for most movies, though I did like No Way Home.
1/17/2022 5:13:47 PM
^no I don’t think it was really a setup for the next big intertwined story or anything. Although the boyfriend and final end credit scene were a tease for 2 other marvel characters (very minimal spoilers that most people would have to look up to realize anyways: ………………black knight and blade)
1/17/2022 5:34:33 PM
Too many characters I have no reason for caring about in one movie. Also, if you're Arishem, why make a thing that is going to basically live forever deaf? That makes no sense to me.
1/19/2022 1:32:53 PM
Or once you discovered that the Deviants were a mistake and you had to make the Eternals to compensate, the next time you make a planet maybe skip making the Deviants again and just have the Eternals do whatever job you created the Deviants for.
1/19/2022 9:53:24 PM
just watched this last night - overall i thought it was reasonably good movethe bass (and sound overall) blew me away - i want to watch again for the sound more than the story
1/20/2022 9:57:43 AM
marvel is heading down a path where they are bringing all these characters into the world that people don't really know unless you are nerd that runs a comic shop.
1/21/2022 5:01:54 AM
It may surprise you to learn that they did that already with a film called Iron Man.
