Is 98/2 ground beef the lowest fat content ground beef possible? I’ve googled a lot. 96/4 pretty common, couldn’t find any 97/3, springerhill ranch makes a 98/2 kind. Haven’t found any lower fat content. One google result said “skinny beef” made a 99/1, but its actually 98/2…same fat and calories content per pound as springerhill ranch, but springerhill ranch is 9/lb vs skinny beef 10/lbDoes 1% fat or 0% fat ground beef not exist?

Intramuscular fat is a thing that exists, so 0% fat beef seems unlikely.Wikipedia gives 2.5% as a typical value for intramuscular fat. That's probably why 97/3 and 98/2 are the leanest you can find. Why would you want 0% fat beef?[Edited on May 9, 2021 at 9:45 PM. Reason : 2.5%]

96/4 is 560 calories about 18g of fat, 98/2 is 480 calories about 8g of fat. Figured 0% is 400 calories 0g of fat

That's for a full pound. Do you routinely eat a full pound of ground beef?

When i make tacos, sloppy joes, or hamburger helper, yes. Close to a pound per week on average. Maybe 5 pounds per month[Edited on May 9, 2021 at 10:09 PM. Reason : For spaghetti or chili the pound is split up into a few bowls]

Is that just for you? Five pounds of ground beef per month is almost 3 ounces a day.I'd suggest changing your diet rather than a quixotic search for fat free ground beef.-]

Tuna helper/hamburger helper always been a one and done for me. Tacos comes to about 5 hardshells plus cheese and done. Only cooking for me so chili with beans, saltines, cheese not a one and done. Depending on how much pasta i cook, def 2 times on that one

You seriously eat a box of hamburger helper by yourself in one sitting? Not only is a pound of beef in one sitting very unhealthy, you're eating more salt in one meal than you should eat in a couple days.

Eating a pound of pretty much anything at a meal is bad for you.

Not even some kind of low carb, a pound of beef PLUS noodles or tortillas[Edited on May 10, 2021 at 3:53 PM. Reason : We're not canceling you we are tying to keep you from canceling yourself! ]

What if all he eats for the day is the box of Hamburger Helper? Like that is his breakfast, lunch, and dinner? That would be AS bad. Still a lot of salt though.

Typically if I eat hamburger helper its about the only thing I eat that day

Currently googling spaghetti sauces. Ton of sodium in that, target has some cucinas, but pretty steep at 8 dollars a jar but only has 230mg of sodium. Lucini also has real low, but also 6 a jar. Seems like best $ to healthiness benefits might be newmans organic marinara or classico no sgar added

Just make your own. It is the easiest thing to make. If you can make hamburger helper you can make your own spaghetti sauce ]

What about lunch meats? Boars head has a no salt added 10/lb but doesn’t seem to be in stock locally. Some dietz and watson is in stock with similar nutrition label but 1/oz seems kinda stupidly high
