Look, you people need to see this. This movie is bad. Like, really bad. But it's so bad it's actually great. I enjoyed all of it, even if the CGI reminded me of bad mid-2000's CGI. And Lord I hope there's a sequel.

I watched it over the weekend, and it wasn't a patch on '95. This thing was easily two different movies that didn't want to be in the same room. I felt embarrassed for everyone involved and hope no one has to suffer through a sequel.

I was looking forward to it. I watched like the first 20 minutes and had to stop because the kids were around. At that point I thought it had some promise and was excited to watch the rest. But I was disappoint. I kept waiting for the actual tournament to start and then realized the movie was almost over.

I thought it would be easy to top the one from 1995.I was wrong.

The 1995 one is good. The sequel? Not so much.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I was kind of drunk and wasn't expecting it to be some cinematic masterpiece

^^Kano stole the show! I feel like all of his quips were more meant for a Johnny Cage character. Not sure why they didn't include Johnny Cage outside of the teaser at the end, but whatever.Other than that, I had two primary complaints. 1) The fight with Goro was too early/anti-climatic. Should have been the boss fight instead of Sub-Zero2) Where was the tournament? I get that they wanted to have some character development and to give some explanation behind their superpowers, but the tournament is the whole purpose of the game. Wouldn't it be a little sus if Shang Tsung showed up to the tournament and all of Earth's warriors were dead from ice-related injuries? Is there no way for Raiden to just whip out a camera and record all this shady shit that Shang Tsung is doing before the tournament begins then just show it to the Elder Gods? How is there ever a tournament if it is that easy to just pick off each world's fighters ahead of time? That being said, I still loved it. Cheesy in a good way. I really like how they incorporated a lot of the movesets and fatalities. Kung Lao slicing Nitara in half was so ridiculous and over the top, but it obviously works in an MK setting. Sub-Zero even did an ice clone at one point. It wouldn't have been out of place if a guy randomly appeared in the corner and said "toasty!!"

I hope they had babalities and friendships as well

The first 10 minutes were pretty compelling. The rest was kind of goofy. A lot of fights ended anticlimactically. (Obvious) sequel will be better imo, but wasn’t absolute trash…just lazy and very cheap looking, like straight to dvd type flick

When I was in college back in 95 when MK came out (straight to VHS?) my girlfriend rented it. We started watching it and she had some mushrooms, which we ate. That's when she told me about raves and rave music and how much better fucking was on ecstasy vs mushrooms. I was on a search for this ecstasy she spoke of for the rest of my college years. Never could find any. Then I graduated and moved to CLT. Shit was everywhere. Oh, the old MK soundtrack was the bomb!
