I enjoy sticking it to the man. I'm glad this is happening. But for all of those folks that bought all this GameStop stock....isn't the price artificially inflated by all this? I mean they've essentially created their own bubble.I'm very ignorant when it comes to stocks. Before this happened I didn't even know what short-selling was.But unless GameStop somehow finds a way to be viable, this is all going to be in vain, right? Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft all have their own online stores, so it isn't like GameStop can sell electronic copies of games. Unless they're heavily discounted, why would anyone buy a downloadable game from GameStop when they can just get it from the proprietary online store for the consoles? Hell, the PS5 even has a version that prevents physical media from being used.GameStop carries a lot of stuff that isn't necessarily video games, but is it enough to keep it a viable company?I guess GameStop could maybe partner with developers for exclusive games, but that would probably piss off the console manufacturers.

Yea, I guess I made this thread more to discuss GameStop's future, if it has one.

How's Redbox doing these days? I've never used one, myself, and now that I think about it, I don't recall seeing them as frequently now as I did a few years ago (I don't pay much attention to them, really; never really thought about it until just now). This thread just reminded me of them and I checked--Apparently they no longer rent games. Is there a market for a game Redbox that Gamestop (or someone) could tap into? (The fact that Redbox dropped games doesn't make it seem promising to me).
