For me it’s German. It sounds like they are vomiting when they speak. And like diarrhea when they talk English with the accent. Anyone else have an intolerant eversion to a language or dialect. I don’t hate the people just the sounds they make.

The dumbest shit I’ve heard and read in my life has been in English. Therefore I dislike it the most.[Edited on July 5, 2020 at 3:16 PM. Reason : ^ I’m shocked ]

I’m saying I dislike the sound of language not that I hate the country or their people. Kap shows hatred of the United States and it’s people that made him loved at one time. I’m simply asking about the dialect and sound that one may not enjoy.

What’s gross? I could be great friends with a German person with a German accent. I just don’t like the harshness of the sound of the language and dialect. It’s not a hate thread. Just asking if anyone finds dialects or languages more harsh than others.

The language of business.
7/5/2020 4:32:50 PM
Haha . French is annoying but it doesn’t bother me as I grew up with French ancestors. Business does bother me with all the acronyms. And I work in business/finance so I just have to deal with it. I made the choice I deal with the consequences.

Interesting thread, especially since I am interested in languages, their origins, and the cultures surrounding them.I love the way German sounds!!! Would love to be able to speak it one day. It commands attention (sort of like Russian), and I love those guttural sounds! Many people say they dislike the way German sounds; too harsh, they say. But I seem to like it exactly for those reasons.I probably like Dutch even more; it is like a softer version of German. Can't stand French . Now that, that's a really annoying-sounding language. And fuck their pronunciation rules.Don't like Chinese, both Mandarin and Cantonese. The tones are annoying. Four tones is doable (Mandarin), but Cantonese takes it too far with 6. Also, Mandarin does not sound pleasant at all (has some grating sounds), unless you are listening to traditional songs. Cantonese sounds better, nothing special, but not annoying. (Japanese and Korean are lovely-sounding IMO.)Also, if you listen to people talking in Mandarin, you will hear what sounds like "nigah" or "naggeh" a lot, A LOT. And it can be discomfiting for English speakers who are averse to the N-word. It means "that" or "that one", but is also apparently used as our "umm", so it is ubiquitous in conversations.Probably think of some more languages to post another time.

Not sure how liking a language has anything to do with Kap. We get it you love him. Probably have a poster on your bedroom wall that you kneel to daily and weep. Probably stalk him like you stalk me. Keep on man it just confirms your troll status.

Look, last year, or two years ago, I would have been right there with you.But his form of protest I prefer so much more than vandalism and looting. He hasn't hurt anyone or anyone's property with his form of protests. Feelings? Sure, sounds like he's hurt lots of feelings. But I guess that was always kinda the point.

^ we can agree that his form is better than his the other for sure. But manslaughter being a lesser evil than first degree murder doesn’t make manslaughter ok. Before I’m trolled I know it’s a drastic analogy but the ideology aligns. Two things are bad. One is worse than the other so the lesser is acceptable.

holy fucking shit what a stupid comparison

Peaceful protest is bad?
7/6/2020 10:07:38 AM
No. I’m fine with peaceful protest I will defend it as a believer in our constitutional rights I just don’t appreciate disrespect of the country. March, pickett, sit in boycott all you want. Don’t disrespect the country by dishonoring the flag, burning it or by burning and looting businesses that have nothing to do with the issue.
7/6/2020 10:14:07 AM
7/6/2020 11:37:40 AM
How do you disrespect a country what does that mean
7/6/2020 11:42:22 AM
Burning a flag. Refusing to stand for anthem. Burning and looting. Tearing down statues just because (Frederick Douglass I.e). Destroying history and spitting on the rights that we have that foreigners have to learn about when they pledge an oath to the country. Rebelling from country and starting own towns that are lawless and complaining that there is no justice anymore in said towns. Just off the top of my head..
7/6/2020 12:23:19 PM
Your language sounds like diarrhea splattering out of your mouth.
7/6/2020 12:27:34 PM
I still don't get it does the country get its feelings hurt or what. Maybe I need to rephrase, I'm not looking for actions, I'm trying to understand how one can disrespect something intangible, or maybe why it matters. (lol at "Frederick douglas ie" sure that's the one you're upset about)
7/6/2020 12:29:37 PM
No. I’m just saying it was meaningless to tear down a statue who worked to bring freedom to slaves. Taught himself to read and accomplished many things in the abolitionist movement. Tearing down Jefferson I don’t agree with but can understand. Tearing down Tubman and Douglas is hard to understand the mentality. What’s next? We ban roots? Because it uses the N word but is hurtful? That’s up to the people who say it’s oppressive but it is actually a story of triumph over that oppression. Why tear down monuments of people who helped to break those chains. Risked their lives to do so.And yea I was more upset about Frederick Douglass than the others because it mad no sense to me. Who goes next? MLK? We came so far and now we are backtracking heavily.[Edited on July 6, 2020 at 12:45 PM. Reason : .]

7/6/2020 12:47:21 PM
You are right. I don’t know. But we as a people need to recognize the dire situation that is happening. People don’t need to do this. It’s not right as a community and country to divide and destroy all we have to enjoy. If it’s supremacists who did it in revolt or people who wanted it to look like it . It doesn’t matter. Germans for years said the Holocaust didn’t happen. Erased it from the books. Embrace the history. Learn from it. Understand that the ppl around you no matter color may be good at heart. May not ever feel the same pain and shouldn’t claim too but a race war always ends in senseless deaths. I don’t like trajectory and think there are better ways. We have had the wake up call. Now let’s take a nap and find a resolution that doesn’t involve crime.Oh and I actually do get to do that because MLK wasn’t for violence while Kaep was wearing communist leaders on his shirt and provoking. MLK did it from a place of love. kaep instilled hate. I wasn’t comparing kaep to MLK ... you were though.[Edited on July 6, 2020 at 1:06 PM. Reason : .]

7/6/2020 1:38:56 PM
No fight for change. Do it well and the right way. Rosa Parks made a statement without violence. I know what Kaep did was not violent. It’s a thin line. Police brutality is an issue but attempting to remove patriotism from a sport we claim is backtracking. We could use it in a positive way instead of kneeling during a sacred anthem with cops are pigs socks on. Yea I don’t like police around me either. But there is a level of respect for country and people who try to uphold. A lot of bad cops, yes. Society without good cops = disaster.

No I think that we should teach children the truth about history so it doesn’t repeat as opposed to destroying it. Ever been to holocaust museum? It is a good check up on how we may feel at erasing history. To not acknowledge previous faults is to not recognize them in ourselves.
7/6/2020 1:48:20 PM

You tell me. Maybe you change my mind. The anthem is something people have revered for years. All nations play it at their olympics. It stands for a fight tor our independence. We were overpowered and held steadfast to an idea that we would not be oppressed. Kaep did the same, but he was never oppressed until he decided to oppress himself. Our ancestors fought strong and hard to win this land for us.
7/6/2020 1:55:34 PM
It's not. Other than referencing God in the fourth verse, there's nothing religious about the national anthem.[Edited on July 6, 2020 at 2:04 PM. Reason : ]
