Hurricane season has been canceled this year. No need for the thread.

But now everyone will flock to Carteret county
5/4/2020 10:20:58 PM
They already are.
5/4/2020 10:40:55 PM
oh this isn't about hockey
5/4/2020 10:58:39 PM
Last post was kind of sexy imo

Ugh...looks like with will have an Arthur soon. Last time Arthur hit NC the eye went over me in 2014.Hopefully, it stays a storm and hopefully stays out at sea. Although, the grass is getting a little crunchy, maaaaaybe a little rain!Could be some tropical storm watches hitting our coast soon.
5/16/2020 3:34:10 PM
And there's the tropical storm watch!
5/16/2020 4:49:15 PM
WTF why are they already reusing the name Arthur? It's only been 6 years since Hurricane Arthur. That's just fucking lazy.
5/17/2020 2:09:14 PM
^They have a 6-year rotation on the list of names. As names get retired they rotate new names in. It's just coincidental that the same name affects NC in the next rotation. Arthur wasn't that bad of a storm. Things were basically back to normal the afternoon after it hit. I was able to sit outside on my front porch the entire storm, even as the eye passed over.
5/17/2020 2:42:47 PM
That's some lazy ass bullshit
5/17/2020 2:47:26 PM
Well, hit up the national weather service, other than that, I don't know what to tell ya!
5/17/2020 2:51:47 PM
Don't they read TWW?
5/17/2020 2:56:15 PM
They do, but it's like Google Earth, it's only every so often, so unless it's obvious when they fly over, they aren't going to see it.
5/17/2020 3:21:27 PM
Well, Arthur is gone. I woke up this morning to about 4 inches of rain and the yard was flooded, but it quickly receded. We still have a lot of standing water in our yard, but that is normal for heavy rain. We need to work on the drainage in our yard, but Havelock really sucks with drainage.
5/18/2020 7:36:32 PM
next storm will be named Bertha. of the Butt Sisters.
5/18/2020 7:59:16 PM
1996, I went through hurricane Bertha.
5/18/2020 8:19:09 PM
Names are reused continually unless the storm results in something significant.6th year in a row that we've had a named storm before the official start of the "season".
5/19/2020 10:01:13 AM
bertha
5/27/2020 10:16:58 AM
^was never a hurricane
5/27/2020 3:39:53 PM
This thread should be "Official 2020 Named Storm Season Thread"
5/27/2020 3:41:09 PM
But not named winter storms. They need their own thread.
5/27/2020 3:42:31 PM
Naming winter storms is dumb. When and why did that start?
5/27/2020 3:46:40 PM
^dumb shits in control at TWC
5/27/2020 3:54:16 PM
Named winter storms are from The Weather Channel, not NOAA

There is something brewin out there that could maybe cause us to want to make sure we have some of the essentials that are hard to find right now.
