Hannah Cifers trains at my gym in Wake Forest. She was on the main card at the Fight Night in Raleigh. She is set to fight again May 23 for UFC Fight Night 175. Hope she can get a W this time.

Hannah fights again tomorrow. She barely took any damage in the last fight (Just the leg lock) and this fight had one of the fighters back out so she stepped in. I hope she can get in the win column again.

I went to high school in Wilmington with Derek Brunson, he is fighting Edmen Shahbazyan on August 1st.

You are right, that's 3 straight losses. I hope she can bounce back.

She looked better in the first fight until they went to the ground. Then she went up to 125 (from 115) to fight Agapova who was 5 inches taller. She had the reach on her and controlled the whole fight. After the kick to the face, it was pretty much over.

So the Amanda Nunes fight from a couple weekends ago, some gambler in Vegas bet $1 million on her to win. Now she was a heavy favorite, but the guy did take $160k in one day.

Great fights overall. Thought Holloway should have won the decision. Unfortunately, the main event was boring. Buncha leaning on the cage and foot stomping.

Seems like it would be difficult for the fighters to fight so early in the morning. Didn't the main card start at like 7 AM local time?

i guess they're showing the McGregor fight for free on ESPN since so many people had trouble with ESPN+

Back to back fights with freak leg injuries.

The Weidman broken leg was brutal
He was on the other end of the same injury when Silva broke his leg

Yeah every fight on the main card ended in a stoppage, which is cool, but none were even remotely competitive.

I enjoyed the card. The Usman Masvidal fight was more entertaining than the first time they fought if I remember correctly. I just remember Usman stomping on his feet the whole time and Masvidal not be in great shape due to losing 22 pounds in 6 days.

Thug Rose fight was great. I'd like to see that rematch.

Shevchenko fight was entertaining as well. I don't know that I've seen a hold like that to end a match on punches. I'm not a BJJ guy but it looked like she was going for a submission but stopped and started punching her when she go her arms pinned back.

The first two fights, while ending in injury stoppage, were very intriguing. To the point where I replayed them for people who came to our house the next day.
