I ain't defending it, but you need to understand that a trailer isn't showing you the whole narrative or even events in chronological order. Robotnik is probably gonna try to synthesize some kind of speed serum from Sonic's quills, only Sonic's gonna get powered up from it and achieve a new level of speed, hence the missile-dodging sequence. Come on, now.

i actually think jim carrey looks well cast in this role.

this movie looks terrible though. it's no super mario bros. movie for sure.

^ That final shot of him doesn't look bad, but I feel like that is prob gonna be in the final part of the movie to try and set up the sequel. Otherwise, too thin!

Sidenote: I feel like Danny DeVito would have been the perfect casting for the role.

I don't know if it's just because I didn't have Sega and only played Sonic when I was at a friend's house so I'm not like super nostalgic or defensive of it but I didn't think this movie looks any worse than most stuff out now.
