Or not remember being in on Hillsborough st?

As we say goodbye this weekend to East Village, I can officially say that aside from Mitch's and Player's Retreat, the street has completely transformed from when I used to run around during college in the early 2000's and no businesses are left that I used to go to. What bar's do you remember

Big Bad Wolf...Did they have penny draft night? (Then it turned into something else with a clover on the sign, "Molly's" maybe anyone remember?)
PB's
The Cantina (we used to jump over the deck railing to sneak in when we were under 21)
Comet Lounge
The Brewery
Amore's
Anyone remember what the Brickhouse used to be?

What else you got?

Also in Raleigh, what was Clubzone called before it was Clubzone on Old Wake Forest Rd?

The two restaurants I remember best were gone by the time I actually went to school: Darryl's and Swensen's.

I'm good as long as they leave Mitch's and Players Retreat.

As for old bars, I remember eating dinner at Brother's Pizza and Two Guy's Pizza when I was in grade school. We hadn't lived in NC all that long when we started going there, but our neighbor who went to NCSU back in the 70's had us meet them for dinner there a few times.

It's not like East Village is shutting down forever.

^Yeah, but the upgraded one will be different. Kind of like how the old A frame IHOP is gone and has been replaced with a nicer one. People like nostalgia. That is why so many people wish we were still playing in Reynolds where there were crappy site lines and wooden seats even though we have a much nicer and very intimidating (when people show up) arena now.

Yeah except Reynolds was much louder than the PNC when both were at capacity, plus it was an actual arena built for basketball, instead of one built for hockey.

I know the place you are talking about! I can't remember the name of it though! I think it was above Shanghai Express maybe? Speaking of which, I went to Golden Dragon like 3 days a week when I was in senior design.

Melvin's
Sylvia's Pizza
PizzAmerica (Even though I never went there)

Nothing super special but Taco Bell in Talley was a mainstay for me when I was a freshman.

Lil' Dino's at Talley for me, they had hot subs and waffle fries (the one in the brickyard only had cold, and no fries)

When I was a college student on a meal plan with no income, it was pretty good to me.

You must have been one of those rich kids that ate off of campus all the time.

No, I was the poor kid whose meal plan didn't include board bucks it whatever it was called that you could use at places like that.

Plus I could just eat pizza and burgers and grilled cheese at Clark for every meal, which is basically what I did.

Oh yeah, the pizza and grilled cheese at the Dining Hall was soooo much better than those shitty sandwiches from Lill Dino's

What was the Korean place upstairs that played k-pop videos?

Porters was the slightly fancy place?

^I remember the Korean place solely because I went there right before Valentine's Day in 2007 with the girl I was sweating, lol.

You could use your dining hall meal at places like Lil Dino's and Wolves Den, but most meals cost more than the amount of a meal at the dining hall. That meant you had to swipe once for the meal, then once for the extra in board bucks.

Clark wasn't that bad honestly, but I will agree that their pizza sucked.

Yes and I didn't have any board bucks. Or a job. So when I was going to spend actual money on food, I wasn't going to fucking lil dinos, I was going to ball out at taco bell.

Also Clark had excellent dining hall food (weekend custom omelettes were on point.) Also it was 50 feet from my dorm room.

lol, you thought going to on-campus Taco Bell was "balling out", but Lil' Dino's was shitty? I guess I just wasn't a big a foodie as you were in college.

Exactly.

Also one time I got a wrap at lil dinos and it had a piece of roast beef (?) in it that was way too thick to eat. Like thicker than some fucking prime rib. Approaching waffle house t-bone steak thickness. That was the last time I ever got food there.

I'm pretty sure 90%+ of my board bucks went to meal cost overruns at Chick-fil-a and Taco Bell.

Clark dining hall breakfast was definitely top notch.

Not going back to an establishment because a small piece of their mass produced food wasn't cut right is asinine.

I have some friends that do a WVU football gamewatch @ Sammys on Saturdays, and it's generally pretty busy outside of their group. Especially so for bigger games.

Though Sammy sold his ownership recently and I've heard reports things are slipping in the quality.

I remember that's where CJ Leslie and Ryan Harrow signed... or maybe one of them was supposed to but didn't?
