There's one on I-95 just north of South of the Border that I saw last weekend. Somebody go knock that one down too.

^^^That's what I thought. Watch the video of the guy from DOT. He knows what's up. "Again, which would be ILLEGAL. . ." *WINK*WINK*And the fact that they installed it with 4 x 4 wooden posts? With modern battery-powered tools, removal is literally a 2 minute job for somebody with a reciprocating or circular saw and a charged battery.[Edited on June 13, 2018 at 6:12 PM. Reason : Not that I endorse, but I WOULD find it funny.]

I would think you could take the lag bolts out much faster than cutting the posts down.
6/13/2018 6:31:36 PM
Yeah you can get a 2 pack impact driver/drill set for pretty cheap at Lowe's for Father's day..

^^I respectfully disagree. I think it would take LONGER to remove 4 lag bolts than to cut two posts with proper cordless power tools. I also think you would need a ladder to access at least some of the bolts. They might also do something like bending the bolts down to make it impossible to remove by standard methods, so that you might have to cut the bolts with a metal-cutting blade first in order to remove the nuts. Goal is to get in and get out quickly. Cordless circular saw would zip right through the posts close to ground level. Then once the sign was down, you could do it again close to the base of the sign to remove the excess post length and then fly the coop. Hypothetically, of course.

Why not just use a chainsaw? I’d say the bigger concern is being seen not heard, you should be able to cut through a 4x4 post with a chainsaw in seconds. Also, to use a skill saw on a 4x4 (assuming that’s what it is) would require a pretty damn big saw...

cordless sawzall. in and out in less than a minute.

I for one, would like to hear about elesuis' thought that lag bolt removal would be "much faster"What is everyone else ITT missing?
6/13/2018 9:53:36 PM
Just use an axe
6/13/2018 11:10:06 PM
removing the posts looks like it's more of a headache to repair toochop em down
6/13/2018 11:17:32 PM
Chainsaw would be good too. With a Jason Voorhees mask.I still say battery is the way to go. They got battery chainsaws. With a circular saw, you'd probably have to cut a couple of sides, but it would work and still only take a couple of seconds.

I'll just chain it to muh tractor and drive off
